Not good with cats, Needs experienced adopter, Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Riley, thought to be born in January or February of 2015 is a tricolor, smooth coat collie/border collie mix with some brindle markings on his legs. He has experienced 2 failed adoptions. He was adopted from us when he was about 6 months old and was returned to us 3 years later when the male member of the adoptive family, who had Alzheimer’s, became abusive toward him. In time he began developing his self-confidence again and began to lose his fear of men. Even though he was still somewhat leery of men he didn’t know, he would actually seek attention from men with whom he was familiar. He got along well with the dogs in his foster home but he behaved aggressively toward any new foster dog that periodically come in. He is not good with cats as he showed aggression toward the clinic cat at our vet’s office. Riley was adopted a second time, but after a year of trying different techniques to manage Riley’s difficult behaviors his second adopter felt that she could no longer handle him and once again Riley was returned to us. He left us weighing 55 pounds and returned, markedly overweight, at 78 pounds. He is now back to a healthy weight. Riley has had extensive training. He is quite smart and learns quickly. He rides well in a car and walks well on a leash unless he meets a dog while out on the walk, in which case he will pull and act aggressively. Riley is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, is heartworm negative and is being kept on heartworm and flea and tick prevention to maintain his good health. Riley is currently in Arkansas. His adoption donation is $415 which includes the $165 transport fee. If you would like to adopt Riley, the first step in the adoption process is to fill out an online adoption application. You can find a copy of that application here. We sometimes receive a lot of interest on an animal and can't always reply to each email in a timely manner. An application does not obligate you to adopt from us, but it does show that you are serious about the adoption process. Please remember we are all volunteers. After you submit your application, please allow a few days for a volunteer to review your application. During this time your vet reference will be checked and a volunteer with determine if it is the best match for you and the animal. Applications are not approved on a first come, first serve basis. We match up the best home for the animal, so even if the pet has other applications, this does not mean he/she will be adopted to that home. Once your application has been approved a volunteer with contact you to set up a phone interview. This is the perfect time for you to ask any questions you have about the adoption process and the animal you are interested in

Story
Well hello there, Houndsome! Introducing Arlo, a 4-month old, 25-pound adorable Collie/Hound mix, who’s gotta nose that works overtime, to along with his heart that’s bursting with love. Arlo is smart as a whip and eager to please. He uses his sniffer to understand his world and he uses his brain to understand his humans. In no time flat, Arlo has learned the meaning of the words sit, come, lie down, no, and good boy. He’s fascinated by people, even unfamiliar ones, and looks to greet everyone and anyone he meets. He’s also terrific around other dogs. New to leash walking, Arlo is currently being taught proper leash manners and becoming more and more comfortable with the great outdoors. He’s not a lover of freezing cold temps or heavy rain, but then again, who is? In spite of that, he’s making excellent progress being house trained and his entire face lights after receiving praise for getting it right! Atta boy, Arlo! Arlo does all the normal things you’d expect from a puppy. He’s super playful, he takes long naps, he loves playing with toys, and he lives for affection. He goes wild for head pets, belly rubs, butt scratches, and having his long floppy ears caressed. He’s a true people dog who yearns to love and be loved in return. Between Arlo’s wonderful disposition, sweet soul, and gorgeous face, he’s a hard one to resist. If you’re looking for a terrific young dog with whom to share your life, Arlo should be calling your name! Woof woof! Story
Well hello there, Ash! This adorable 4-month old, 26-pound (as of 1/10) Collie/Hound mix is a total sweetheart and mushier than a meatball! Ash is friendly and fun around humans and other dogs. He loves toys, but he loves living breathing creatures much more…especially in the form of playful pups. Ash is respectful around dogs of any age, even much older ones, and intuitively knows how to fit in. He’s just so happy to be in their company, and smart enough to get them to like him! Energetic and full of joy, Ash enjoys being able to fun freely and horse around outside. He’s currently learning the ins and outs of leash walking and getting better at it every single day. Ash is doing a great job of pottying outside, he uses his pee pads when necessary, and he’s comfortable in his crate. Yay, Ash! Ash has quickly learned the commands sit, down, stay and come. He is highly treat motivated and craves praise and approval. Who knows what amazing things this pupper will be able to accomplish! Ash travels with ease, he shares his toys, he loves to cuddle, and he even gives kisses. What can be better? Absolutely nothing! Story
Hi there, my name is Liam. I am a very handsome 3-year-old, 73 lb Collie/Red Heeler mix and I’m looking for a forever home. I was off to a bad start as just another stray dog in Texas, living on the streets, trying to make it on my own, with no microchip, no tags, and sadly no owner. I was taken in by a dog rescue that placed me at a boarding facility a year and a half ago. With no prospects for adoption (it’s very slow here in Texas), 4 Little Paws Rescue was asked for some help, so now I can get my picture and my story out there for everyone in the Northeast Coastal region to see and hopefully I hit the jackpot and find a real forever home! I am a total sweetheart, friendly and happy, excited to meet new people, and anxious to play with doggy friends, like an overgrown puppy that has been cooped up for too long. I LOVE to run, I have gobs of energy, tons of enthusiasm, and would make an excellent running buddy, but I might also be perfect for agility training, or catching frisbees on the beach, and I could probably learn how to wrangle your cattle if you have any. There are so many possibilities for me to have a wonderful life instead of being kept in a kennel. I love attention and tummy rubs, and every sort of doggy treat there is. I’m not the slobbering kissy type, but I’ll cozy up beside you for pets and scratches. It shouldn't surprise you that I love going for walks and going for car rides, I’m always happy to go somewhere. I am already housebroken, I don't guard my food, and loud noises don't scare me. I’m not a digger but can jump a low fence. I am fully vetted and already neutered, and more than ready to blow this pop stand, get out of Texas, and get on my way to a LONG AWAITED brand new life! * We encourage you to send us an email with your #1, #2, and #3 choices, and we will be happy to help you find a pup to complete your family! Also, please continue watching our listings as we post new dogs multiple times a week. There is no need to fill out another application, just let us know what other dogs you are interested in as they come up.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Bella (AL) is a female Collie mix estimated to be 18 months of age at time of rescue from AL in March 2023. She weighed 26 pounds at that time. Bella is good with people and other dogs, is up to date on core vaccines, has been spayed, and is microchipped. Bella is the perfect lady with beautiful black fur, no chewing, no excessive barking, just excessive snuggles and kisses. She is also intelligent and affectionate, and her favorite pastime is being hugged and petted. Bella would love a home where her people will spend lots of time loving on her. Bella would also love a fenced in backyard or a home with people who can take her on long walks throughout the day.  This beautiful girl l ikes her crate and will quietly hang out there when needed.   Bella is smart, well-behaved and such a love.  She's good with other dogs but would do best in a home with older children who can respect boundaries. Bella is a great dog who will be a wonderfully loving addition to her forever family. If you would like Bella to be the addition to your family, please apply online to adopt Bella (AL) at www.rescuedogsrocknyc.org.  ********************* RDR's adoption fees include the cost of spay/neuter/microchip at an RDR-approved facility, whether completed before adoption or if deferred because the pet is too young or has a medical issue.  All pets are also current on age-appropriate vaccines at the time of adoption. Given technical constraints on this database, this pet's location may not be as listed here. We can, however, provide transport support for pets in foster at a considerable distance from the adopter. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 2, 2024, 8:42 am
