Story
Meet Zuko, the charming collie mix who has brought immeasurable joy to my life as a pandemic puppy. However, due to the demands of my new job, I sadly find myself unable to provide him with the life he truly deserves. At 4 and 55 lbs, Zuko is a handsome and affectionate companion. He was rescued from Texas and is already neutered and chipped. Zukos favorite pastimes include cuddling with his humans, gazing out the window, running at the beach, and going on hikes. If you want to witness pure joy, unleash Zuko at the beach and watch as he glances back at you with his tongue out in bewildered excitement before taking off. While he may not be the biggest fan of swimming or rain, he looks adorable in a raincoat and is always up for playtime in the snow. Zuko loves food. He's highly motivated by treats, especially frozen peanut butter. He gets along well with other dogs, but I am unsure about his compatibility with cats. He can be reactive, especially to strollers and e-scooters.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. MAGGIE-Pierce was saved from a kill shelter in Georgia and arrived at Give a Dog a Home Rescue, in Sebec, Maine on 5 April 2024.  Maggie-Pierce is spayed, rabies, core vaccines, monthly preventatives and is microchipped with 24PetWatch. She has an estimated date of birth of 4 November 2023 and in April 2024 weighed of 20 pounds. We have no way of knowing the breed, it is up to individuals to look at the pictures and videos to make up their own mind. This sweet girl is still a baby and so we are looking for families who understand how much work puppies are, who are able to ensure she gets all the socialization she needs, the training, routine and structure to give her the right start to her wonderful life ahead of her. Maggie-P is in a kennel with several other pups similar in age, some bigger, some smaller and she is having a great time playing and wrestling most of the day, when of course they are not snuggled up in a big puppy pile dreaming of their forever families and future lives full of adventure ahead of them. We take a lot of pictures and videos and don't always have the time to post them on the dogs individual webpage and adoption site, so we ask that you go to the rescue    YouTube channel   and    photo albums on our Facebook page   t o see a LOT of pictures and videos. We are looking for families that have the lifestyle that the dog needs to lead a healthy, both mentally and physically life, who can afford a GOOD quality food, toys and treats and understand the importance of veterinary wellness checks. Maggie-Pierce is located at the rescue in Sebec Maine and is available for a  reduced adoption  fee of $550. Interested families are required to complete our application process and once approved schedule an appointment to come to the rescue to meet and take home their new best friend. Our process takes 1-2 days as long as we are able to talk to references, so be prepared to be approved (hopefully) to adopt within a few days of submitting the adoption application. https://giveadogahome-rescue.rescuegroups.org/forms/form?formid=5838 HOUSE TRAINED - All of our dogs are located in the kennel building so we are not able to say if a dog is house-trained, however, they do have access and use the dog door to access their run, play area 24/7. FOOD - We feed a variety of high quality brands and flavors including, chicken, turkey, beef, lamb and fish generally alternated daily. CATS - We do not have cats in the kennels and are not able to say how our dogs are with cats. Story
CAPE MAY, NJ: Light-hearted and lovely Leo has a smile that lights up a room, but this handsome fellow shines the brightest outdoors on an adventure with you! Leo is a 2 year old collie mix and weighs 50 lbs. Poor handsome Leo found himself abandoned at an overcrowded city shelter and he was truly terrified. He was rescued from euthanasia in December 2023 and has since resided in a loving foster home, where he has made such wonderful progress. With his fosters, he is loving, intelligent, and playful. Once he knows you, Leo is extremely affectionate and obedient. Everything makes him happy but he likes playing with chews, toys, and tugs the best. Just as any young active breed would be, Leo is exuberant, sometimes even excitable, so he will need an outlet for his energy. Leo would make a great outdoor buddy for someone who is active and/or has a large, fenced in yard. And he absolutely LOVES water! If it’s big enough to jump in, Leo surely will! This fun-loving guy loves being outdoors, bursting with happiness and light-heartedly prancing around. Because of his ruff start in life, Leonardo should really go to a home that has experience with his breed. Leo previously lived with 5 adults and 2 teenagers so he is not opposed to a lively house. Leo bonded very deeply to the children, as collie mixes are known to do. Leo is dog friendly and has been non-reactive to cats. He is neutered, house-trained, up to date on vaccines, micro chipped and ready for his forever home! If you can open your heart and home to the amazing Leo, please contact AmsterDog at 917-689-8414 or by e-mail at info@amsterdog.org. Please fill out an application to adopt Leo at AmsterDog.org. Thanks for caring about a pet in need!

Story
Well hello there, Ash! This adorable 4-month old, 26-pound (as of 1/10) Collie/Hound mix is a total sweetheart and mushier than a meatball! Ash is friendly and fun around humans and other dogs. He loves toys, but he loves living breathing creatures much more…especially in the form of playful pups. Ash is respectful around dogs of any age, even much older ones, and intuitively knows how to fit in. He’s just so happy to be in their company, and smart enough to get them to like him! Energetic and full of joy, Ash enjoys being able to fun freely and horse around outside. He’s currently learning the ins and outs of leash walking and getting better at it every single day. Ash is doing a great job of pottying outside, he uses his pee pads when necessary, and he’s comfortable in his crate. Yay, Ash! Ash has quickly learned the commands sit, down, stay and come. He is highly treat motivated and craves praise and approval. Who knows what amazing things this pupper will be able to accomplish! Ash travels with ease, he shares his toys, he loves to cuddle, and he even gives kisses. What can be better? Absolutely nothing! Story
Meet Capri! Capri is a playful energetic and social 1 year old Collie/Terrier/Pit Bull mix! Capri loves to play outside with her four fur-foster siblings. She LOVES playtime, so furry companions who can keep up with her playful puppy nature are preferred! Other than that, Capri has been the perfect house guest! She's crate trained, house trained, and sleeps through the night, but is an excellent watchdog. She will bark to alert you if a person or another pup is approaching. Exercise is a must for this little lady! She is completely leash trained and loves going on walks with her foster family. As far as new friends go, Capri warms up quickly and absolutely loves to be pet endlessly. Capri would make an excellent companion for just about any family or household! She can't wait to meet you! Capri is currently being fostered in Staten Island, NY. Her adoption fee is $425. All of our animals come spayed or neutered, fully up to date on vaccinations, including rabies (if age appropriate) and Bordetella, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals. For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible. We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.

Story
Mojo was found as a stray and we made every effort to find his owners but to no avail. He is an Aussie mix and of course with the breed comes high activity. I will say that he loves his down time though! He is NOT an apartment dog. He needs a good sized fenced yard. He is not great in a crowd of dogs but will do well with a sister or brother to play with. He hasn't been tested with cats so we don't know about that. The vet believes his age to be about 6 years. He's neutered, vaccinated, crate trained and heart worm negative. He is more than ready for his forever home! ADOPTION FEE $400 PLEASE NOTE THAT WE ARE LOCATED IN TENNESSEE AND YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO MEET OUR PETS PRIOR TO ADOPTION!

Story
This precious girl came from one of the worst hoarding situations that we have ever dealt with. there were over 100 dogs on the property, none of them spayed or neutered. Finally, the authorities went in and they managed to get ALL of the dogs out of there. Filthy dirty situation, sick puppies, you name it. We choose to take Blossom home to our rescue because her eyes were begging us for love and attention. She was very pregnant and two weeks after arriving, she gave birth to 7 heathy puppies! Every single puppy was different, every singe puppy had a different daddy! We think that Blossom had never been paid any attention to because she was so shy. Once we weaned her babies we took her out of the nursery and into the house where she just blossomed! That's how she got her name! Her puppies have long since been adopted and now it's her turn. We actually did a DNA on her and it came back with 4 different breeds, which we kind of figured from the beginning. Australian Cattle Dog, Labrador Retriever, Pit Bull, Boxer. Yes, she is truly a "Mutt!. She is extremely smart and will do anything for a treat. I want her to have a nice fenced yard with lots of room to run. Cattle dogs are working dogs and they need lots of exercise! She is spayed, crate trained, fully vaccinated, microchipped and house broken, truly a gem! Ready for immediate transport. ADOPTION FEE $400 PLEASE NOTE THAT WE ARE LOCATED IN TENNESSEE AND YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO MEET OUR PETS PRIOR TO ADOPTION!

Story
J J was found as a stray and was brought to the rescue by the people who found him. We tried to locate his owner but to no avail. We were pretty stumped as to what his breed mix was so we did a DNA on him. Turns out he is a mix of Brittany Spaniel, Australian Cattle Dog, Australian Shepherd, Chihuahua, Yorkie and a whole bunch more! In other words, he's a mutt but he's got some petty good genes in his little self! He's smart, he's high energy and he's absolutely adorable! He's crate trained, fully vaccinated, heart worm negative and microchipped. Ready for immediate transport. PLEASE NOTE THAT WE ARE LOCATED IN TENNESSEE AND YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO MEET OUR PETS PRIOR TO ADOPTION! ADOPTION FEE $650
