Story
To make the adoption process faster and easier, please visit www.almosthomeohio.org and complete our online application!Dusty is 5 yrs  Dusty is a wonderful adult collie who is still in touch with her inner puppy. She tends to be active, but she eventually settles down. When meeting new people, she might jump at first, but then will accept being petted and, if she’s lucky, get her favorite thing, treats! Dusty’s still working on her social manners with other dogs. If a new dog friend reminds her of the rules, she takes the correction—especially if that friend is a confident, more dominant, take-charge type that shows her what’s what. She tends to get along best with male dogs. However, she will need to be fed separately from other dogs. Dusty is interested in cats and might chase them at times, but not to the point of annoying them. Her current foster mom says Dusty is ”genuinely a fun dog to be around.” She describes Dusty as having a “goofy, aloof personality” while still being willing to learn. Dusty has made many new dog friends while in foster care. What Dusty would love most is a home where she can go on adventures, enjoy lots of treats, and finally settle into her forever family. She can’t wait to be settled in her forever home!Dont forget to visit our informative website, www.almosthomeohio.org, for valuable information and interesting features.March 10, 2026, 12:04 am

Story
To make the adoption process faster and easier, please visit www.almosthomeohio.org and complete our online application!Bindi is 1 yrs old Bindi is as sweet as Valentine’s Day candy and oh so loving. She’s a happy girl, though Bindi hasn’t shown any interest in playing with toys just yet. Bindi’s greatest joy in life is being with her people. She is housebroken and doesn’t chew on things she shouldn’t. Bindi is also great with other dogs and doesn’t react to bunnies, squirrels or deer. She walks on a leash tolerably well but would benefit from some additional leash and obedience training. Because Bindi is high energy, her foster mom believes she would do best with older children. Like most collies, she barks to alert and “speak.” Bindi is patiently waiting for her forever Valentine, who she will lavish with love and attention.     Dont forget to visit our informative website, www.almosthomeohio.org, for valuable information and interesting features.March 10, 2026, 12:04 am

Story
To make the adoption process faster and easier, please visit www.almosthomeohio.org and complete our online application! Tucker is a stunning, 90-pound, 5-year-old mixed breed with a truly unique coat. He can be a bit shy when meeting new people or settling into a new space, but once he feels safe and comfortable, his affectionate, goofy, and endlessly loving nature shines through. Tucker adores attention and bonding time with his people. He loves being outdoors—sniffing, exploring, and soaking in his surroundings—and is always up for playtime, especially if tennis balls are involved. When he’s not playing, you’ll often find him happily gazing out the window, keeping an eye on the world outside. Tucker already has a solid foundation of training and knows basic commands such as sit, place, paw, and come. He’s been lovingly raised by his current owner since he was 6 months old and has known a home full of care, consistency, and affection. Tucker is being rehomed due to resource guarding with food and toys toward another dog in the home. He is not aggressive toward people and would do best as the only pet, where he can fully relax and enjoy undivided attention. A calm household with a securely fenced yard, no young children, and patient, understanding adopters will allow Tucker to truly thrive. If you’re interested in learning more about Tucker or think you might be a good match, please reach out to  katherinehinz6@gmail.com . Story
PHYSICAL FENCE REQUIRED JoJo is a beautiful, young gal of just 2 years old looking for a new beginning after losing her beloved owner. JoJo came in with her sister DeeDee and we have found they do not need to be adopted together. She loves to play with other dogs, but would need a bigger dog as her canine sibling due to her high energy and the bit of pushiness she possesses. If she does not have a sibling, she will need an adopter who is home more often. Being young and very active, she will require a family or human to match her energy. She absolutely loves to play and will make an excellent candidate for sports like agility, rally, etc. JoJo knows “leave it” like a pro but does need consistency with her obedience training and direction. She is very smart and wants to please her humans but sometimes that young brain has other ideas. Consistency will be key to her success. JoJo is gentle, affectionate, and full of love to give. She greets everyone with kind eyes and wagging tails, always eager for a kind word or a soft touch. While she will need a little patience and practice with their leash manners, her willingness to please shines through in everything she does. JoJo has so much heart and happiness to share. She is so ready to fill a home with warmth, loyalty and the quiet joy that only comes from being loved – and giving love back. If JoJo strikes your fancy and you are ready to help her continue to be the best Collie citizen ever, please fill out an adoption application today! Don't wait! And if JoJo is not your cup of tea, we have many more Collies of all ages coming in weekly. Please visit https://tristatecollierescue.org/how-to-adopt/ to complete the adoption application. JoJo is being fostered in PA If you are interested in this dog; and wish additional information, you MUST submit an application on our website. Once we receive your application, an interviewer will call you and try to answer any additional questions you may have. In order to continue our rescue efforts and help more dogs, we require an adoption donation ranging from $75 - $500, depending on the age, breed and the expenses incurred on the individual dog. Our application can be found at http://www.tristatecollierescue.org/ under the adopt tab. Thank you.

Story
6 FOOT FENCE REQUIRED Meet Remi 7-year-old Rough Collie girl. Mahogany Remi is a one-of-a-kind collie with her own soundtrack and absolutely no interest in following anyone else’s rhythm. She is fiercely independent, proudly opinionated, and fully convinced the world works best when she is in charge. Remi loves to communicate and is well known for her long, deep, meaningful conversations with her person. If you talk back, she will happily keep the discussion going. She is a true conversationalist who enjoys engaging with her people. Remi can live with small dogs, but she must be the queen. She is not looking to share leadership and prefers to rule her domain with confidence and dignity. Although undeniably a diva, Remi only tolerates light, gentle grooming. She prefers minimal fuss. Being her own biggest fan, she has forgotten some basic manners over time, so remedial training is a must. With patience and consistency, she has the potential to do very well. A secure yard is required, as loud noises can frighten her. She startles easily and needs a safe, contained space where she can feel secure. Remi would do best with an experienced adopter who appreciates a strong-willed, talkative dog, can provide structure and training, and offers a calm home with secure fencing. She is not for everyone, but for the right person, Remi will be a memorable and engaging companion. If Remi strikes your fancy and you are ready to help her continue to be the best Collie citizen ever, please fill out an adoption application today! Don't wait! And if Remi is not your cup of tea, we have many more Collies of all ages coming in weekly. Please visit https://tristatecollierescue.org/how-to-adopt/ to complete the adoption application. Remi is being fostered in KY (near Cincinnati) If you are interested in this dog; and wish additional information, you MUST submit an application on our website. In order to continue our rescue efforts and help more dogs, we require an adoption donation ranging from $75 - $500, depending on the age, breed and the expenses incurred on the individual dog.
