Story
Sophie is a Rough Collie-Great Pyrenees mix puppy who is almost too adorable for words! This baby floof is on track to be a very big girl when she grows up, so she’s looking for a forever family with a special place in their hearts for large- and/or giant-breed dogs. Sophie is the sweetest, silliest little girl who loves everyone and everything. To her, life is just one grand adventure after another, and all she needs is some companions to tag along with! Sophie absolutely adores humans and wants cuddles and kisses at every opportunity. Whether on the floor, by your side on the sofa, or in your arms, this puppy just loves love! She’s also great around kids and would love having some human siblings to play with. Sophie is very well-socialized and thrives in the company of other dogs, especially younger spirited ones who love to play as much as she does! She needs to be in a forever family with a dog sibling (or two!) to pal around with, and to continue learning from. Because she has a lot of energy (even by puppy standards) along with the famed Great Pyrenees tendency to roam and explore, a forever home with a physically fenced-in yard is an absolute must for her. While she hasn’t been cat-tested, she has a strong prey drive, so Sophie needs to be in a forever home without cats, toy-sized dogs, or other small animals. Sophie is a super smart girl who learns quickly! She has good recall, is eager to please, and is reliably house-trained for a puppy her age. She knows “sit” and is working on other basic commands, and she’s started learning leash-walking manners, too. Sophie is quite independent, as Great Pyrs are known to be, but she’s motivated by treats, toys, praise, and affection, so we think that with some more time and effort—and under the guidance of an experienced pup parent—she’ll be well-trained in no time! If you’ve been wanting to add a giant, goofy floof to your family, Sophie just might be the puppy of your dreams! Fill out an Adoption Application for Sophie is being fostered in GA If you are interested in this dog; and wish additional information, you MUST submit an application on our website. PHYSICAL FENCE REQUIRED Midnight cowboy looking for a sweetheart partner. Hi there, I am Levi and I am just fantastic! Well, thats not 100% true. I admit that I am shy and reserved around people I don't know. I am very honest and need you to know that my past relationship has left me a little uncomfortable around you two leggers. Loud noises and fast movements can upset me. I am best in a calm and quiet home behind a secure fence. Don't get me wrong, I am fine with other 4 leggers, and I would do best if you already have one or two to help me come out of my shell. And, boy oh boy, when I do you will have the best companion ever!! I am a Collie after all!! But, right now I need a patient, forgiving human to assist me in growing into your dreamboat Collie. I mean, just look at me!! I think I am pretty handsome, and your love will let me shine. So, do you think you are ready to help me live the life I was meant to have?? If so, please fill out an application at https://tristatecollierescue.org/how-to-adopt/ and ask for Levi, that's me!! I am waiting to hear from you soon..... Story
“My name is Tori and my Foster Mama says I am a total snuggle bug. I love to play and will play with anybody and anything that wants to play with me – I am just a little kid after all! My Foster Mama says I have a sassy streak in me. I am not sure what that means but I am working really hard to become a good Collie mix citizen and listen to what me elders tell me. Sometimes I “talk back” but I am just trying to figure out this big world so some direction and encouragement is something I guess I need. I am studying lots of new subjects: potty, crate and leash training and I know when my report card comes out, I will get great marks! Food puzzles and this thing called a Kong are my favorite and will keep me very busy on my own. Everyone asks me about what I am mixed with..Collie and cuteness is my answer! My Daddy, who joined my siblings and I in rescue is full Collie. We are not sure what my Mama is but some folks have told me she could be a Lab, Golden Retriever or Pyrenees. Did I mention I am mixed with cuteness AND smarts?!” If Tori strikes your fancy and you are ready to help her become the best Collie (mix) citizen ever, please fill out an adoption application today! Story
PHYSICAL FENCE REQUIRED Country gentleman looking for like-minded family to call my own. Here is what Scotty has to say: “I am Scotty. I am just 3 but I do know a thing or two about life. I like all my fur friends, cats, dogs and little people too. I am gentle but still like a good romp. I love a nice walk, yet I am a bit shy. Being a gentleman, I need privacy to do necessary things, so a fenced yard is a must. Sometimes I get silly, but I am usually reserved and calm. My foster mom says I am “chill.” I am a watcher. I love for you to pet me and scratch my belly, but I am never obnoxious about it. Without sounding vain, I am absolutely a handsome fellow that anyone would be proud to be their own. So, say ‘Beam me up, Scotty!!’ And I will be yours forever!!” Scotty came to us from a not-so-great situation in the country so he is still learning about life in the “city”. He would prefer a quieter home where he gets lot of attention and some guidance to help him navigate all the new things in this new life. If Scotty strikes your fancy and you are ready to help hIM become the best Collie citizen ever, please fill out an adoption application today! Don't wait! Story
With a name like Mischief you must wonder how I got that name. I’m really the silliest boy. I love picking up household treasures and moving them somewhere else. If left unattended with said treasures, I’ve been known to leave a few toof marks. I’m easily redirected and entertained by Himalayan cheese chews for more positive chewing habits. My foster mom calls me lover boy. I love showing my affection by putting my snoot right on your lap, giving kisses, and gentle nibbles. I’m great with other dogs, although I would enjoy being the only one getting all the attention. I’m also great with kids!! The more people to love and love me back, the better. I’m happiest in the great outdoors. I love watching over my yard and saying hi to people that walk or drive by. I’ll need a fence to keep me safe from wandering too far. I’m also house trained and crate trained (as long as you toss a tasty treat inside). I will love being wherever you are and make a wonderful companion as the perfect mix of playful and sweet! Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Fill out an Adoption Application Personality: Polly is a wiggly gal who loves to play and is a total snuggle bug. She has a doggy friend at her foster’s home and there isn’t a play they won’t play together. She is friendly toward all people, affectionate and not vocal. She rides well in the car and is crate trained. She seems to have natural herding skills. Likes: Playful dog friends, treats, hanging out in her crate, playing outside Dislikes: We haven’t found much she doesn’t like yet Energy level: Middle energy with bouts of high energy (play) Favorite activities: Playing with her doggy friend (for hours and hours), racing around the yard, snuggling on the couch. She likes toys and treats and of course toys with treats (kongs). Good with cats, dogs, and kids (over 6)?: Foster has 4 kids aged 4-11 and she is wonderful with all of them, in fact she hasn’t met a human she doesn’t like and seek affection from! She is fabulous with her foster doggy friend and would like to have a dog friend at her forever home (preferred, not required). Not good with: (Cats? Dogs? Strangers? Men? Kids?) She is extremely curious about the cats in her foster home; cats are leery of her, strongly suggest a home without cats. Housetrained: Yes Crate trained: Absolutely! Requires a fenced yard (physical fence and/or invisible fence)?: If owner is active a fence is probably not required. Walks well on a leash?:  Yes Challenges: Any Medical issues?: None known What would be the best kind of home?: A wide variety of homes would be a good fit for Polly. She is an easy going gal who would ideally have a dog friend to play with. A family with kids or an active single person would be a fine place for Polly. No cats would be best.   Application Fees, Adoption Donations and Rescue Policy: Please know that 100% of our fees and donations pay for the costs of rescuing dogs. These include but are not limited to pull fees from shelters, veterinary examinations, vaccinations, medications and care, microchips, neuter/spay surgeries, heartworm treatments, behavior evaluations, and foster care, as needed. Story
We really outdid ourselves with originality in naming Cattle Dog, or “Cattle D” for not much shorter. Cattle Dog has all the energy and big personality you would expect from a Cattle Dog—he will patrol your yard to protect it from both squirrels and ghosts, but when not under attack from these nefarious villains, he loves to play with his friends and loves giving kisses and hugs and getting attention from his people. He’s a fantastic dog and just the best boy. A physically fenced yard is required. Cattle Dog is available for adoption in Ohio to residents of Ohio. If you are interested in adopting Cattle Dog, please complete the online application here (copy and paste into your browser): https://hhdane.formstack.com/forms/lostpetrecoveryadoptionform
