Story
Tucker is a, 90-pound, 5-year-old mixed breed with a truly unique coat. He can be a bit shy when meeting new people or settling into a new space, but once he feels safe and comfortable, his affectionate, goofy, and loving nature shines through. He adores attention and bonding time with his people. He loves being outdoors—sniffing, exploring—and is always up for playtime, especially if tennis balls are involved. When he’s not playing, you’ll often find him happily gazing out the window. He already has a solid foundation of training and knows basic commands such as sit, place, paw, and come. He’s been lovingly raised by his current owner since he was 6 months old and has known a home full of care, consistency, and affection. He is being rehomed due to resource guarding with food and toys toward another dog in the home. He would do best as the only pet, where he can fully relax and enjoy undivided attention. A calm household with a fenced yard and no young children is preferred.

Story
Name: Meet Poncho! Gender: Male Age: 3 years Current Weight: 44 lbs Breed: Collie/beagle mix? Energy Level: Medium Dog Friendly: Yes, and can have other dogs in the home or can be an only dog Cat Friendly: Yes Kid Friendly: Yes, any age Apartment Friendly: Yes Physical Fence Requirement: Physical fence preferred but not required with regular walks/exercise Crate Trained: Yes Potty Trained: Yes Ideal Home/Adopter: If you are looking to keep your floors clear of toys and your home squeak-free, Poncho is not the man for you! He absolutely loves all toys and his favorite hobby is emptying the toy box and playing with every.single.one! Poncho really loves kids and is super respectful of them, sometimes he even leans his butt into them to encourage pets. For the most part he is pretty laid back, but he gets spurts of energy where he wants to run and be rowdy, but the mood leaves as quickly as it comes. He would probably enjoy another dog around the same energy/personality level the most. Unfortunately, he is a little unsure of kitty friends and has tried to chase them. He is happy to be by you, or entertain himself. He has the best smile and when he runs he has a rumpy little corgi-like butt!  Likes: TOYS! Treats, kids, short rowdy play sessions (or just co-existing), fetch, water Dislikes:  What makes this dog special: Poncho is like an older man in a younger dog's body. He still wants to enjoy life, loves to play, but doesn't demand or need TONS of exercise and stimulus. He is old enough to know better, but young enough to still keep up! Poncho's adoption fee is $350. All fees include spay/neuter, microchip, vaccinations, worming, flea and heartworm current. All dogs over 6 months of age have been tested and are heartworm negative. If you are interested in adopting, apply at rescuedohio.org to become an approved adopter and a meet & greet can be set up once approved. ##2627412##

Story
FENCE NOT REQUIRED BUT PREFERRED DUE TO HER PLAYFULNES Meet Sandy: Sandy is a young, gentle girl who weighs about twenty-four pounds. She is still learning her house manners and will need a wee bit more support with potty training. She is also learning healthy boundaries when it comes to food. She shows some uncertainty in new situations and will sometimes choose to rest in her crate or hesitate before coming inside. With calm reassurance, she relaxes and becomes very sweet and snuggly. It appears she did not receive much early socialization, and she is learning at her own pace. Sandy has a soft nature and is making steady progress. She will do best in a home that understands she is still finding her confidence and is committed to helping her grow. Sandy will also do best with an active family or human willing to spend the necessary time to continue her studies on becoming an even more amazing Collie lady. At just 4 months old and in her formative puppy months, she will need someone dedicated to her upbringing. Being in a crate all day is not her jam. Cats are a-ok with Sandy. Another canine companion would be fun for her but they would need to match her level of play. With time, patience, and gentle guidance, she will continue to blossom. Are you the one who will be Sandy's hero? If Sandy strikes your fancy and you are ready to help her continue to be the best Collie citizen ever, please fill out an adoption application today! Don't wait! And if Sandy is not your cup of tea, we have many more Collies of all ages coming in weekly. Please visit https://tristatecollierescue.org/how-to-adopt/ to complete the adoption application. Sandy is being fostered in Southeast PA If you are interested in this dog; and wish additional information, you MUST submit an application on our website. Once we receive your application, an interviewer will call you and try to answer any additional questions you may have. In order to continue our rescue efforts and help more dogs, we require an adoption donation ranging from $75 - $500, depending on the age, breed and the expenses incurred on the individual dog. Our application can be found at http://www.tristatecollierescue.org/ under the adopt tab. Thank you.

Story
FENCE PREFERRED BUT NOT REQUIRED Meet Strider, a lovely 7-year-old male Rough Collie with a beautiful coat to match his beautiful disposition. Strider is gentle, affectionate, and carries himself with the quiet confidence that comes from maturity and kindness. He has an intelligent, thoughtful nature and a strong willingness to learn, making him an excellent candidate for a therapy dog or a devoted companion for someone who values connection and calm presence. Strider is the kind of dog who seems to understand your emotions, offering comfort with a soft gaze or a steady presence by your side. He enjoys human companionship and thrives when he feels included and loved. His manners and eagerness to please make him a joy to have in the home, whether you’re enjoying peaceful evenings or leisurely walks. Strider came from a loving home but sadly, his medical and activity levels were not fulfilled. He is just finishing up his heartworm treatment after powering through like a champ and is ready for his new furever home. He has some slight mobility issues, can do stairs but would prefer shorter walks. What he lacks in that department, he more than makes up for it in companionship and love. With his handsome looks, loyal heart, and gentle soul, Strider will truly stride right into your heart and make himself at home forever. Strider is being fostered in GA (Atlanta area) If you are interested in this dog; and wish additional information, you MUST submit an application on our website. Story
PHYSICAL FENCE REQUIRED JoJo is a beautiful, young gal of just 2 years old looking for a new beginning after losing her beloved owner. JoJo came in with her sister DeeDee and we have found they do not need to be adopted together. She loves to play with other dogs, but would need a bigger dog as her canine sibling due to her high energy and the bit of pushiness she possesses. If she does not have a sibling, she will need an adopter who is home more often. Being young and very active, she will require a family or human to match her energy. She absolutely loves to play and will make an excellent candidate for sports like agility, rally, etc. JoJo knows “leave it” like a pro but does need consistency with her obedience training and direction. She is very smart and wants to please her humans but sometimes that young brain has other ideas. Consistency will be key to her success. JoJo is gentle, affectionate, and full of love to give. She greets everyone with kind eyes and wagging tails, always eager for a kind word or a soft touch. While she will need a little patience and practice with their leash manners, her willingness to please shines through in everything she does. JoJo has so much heart and happiness to share. She is so ready to fill a home with warmth, loyalty and the quiet joy that only comes from being loved – and giving love back. If JoJo strikes your fancy and you are ready to help her continue to be the best Collie citizen ever, please fill out an adoption application today! Don't wait! Story
We really outdid ourselves with originality in naming Cattle Dog, or “Cattle D” for not much shorter. Cattle Dog has all the energy and big personality you would expect from a Cattle Dog—he will patrol your yard to protect it from both squirrels and ghosts, but when not under attack from these nefarious villains, he loves to play with his friends and loves giving kisses and hugs and getting attention from his people. He’s a fantastic dog and just the best boy. A physically fenced yard is required. Cattle Dog is available for adoption in Ohio to residents of Ohio. Story
Archie is a handsome, big boy. He loves to play, run, and be with his people. He likes to sleep on the couch and be with you while you are in the kitchen. Our favorite part about Archie is how excited he gets to see you. He has a lot of characteristic features, like sad eyes, a big scruff, and talking!. He also has quite a sense of humor for a dog! Archie has mastered the "sit" and "come here" commands and is learning more, like "shake" and "stay". He is able to quickly catch onto new things. We are working on his training, as he still has puppy tendencies. At this point, he is not cat friendly. The temptation to chase is too strong. Archie is the last from a litter of 8. He and another litter mate have a different coat type. He has a slick, shiny coat, more like a labrador, rather than a fluffy and soft one. Located in North Texas, Transport availbel and fee included

Story
Meet Rosie; a 5-year-old Border Collie/Heeler mix with a heart of gold. She is fully house-trained, doesn’t chew or destroy things, and only barks when there is a good reason. Rosie is about as low-maintenance as they come! She is incredibly sweet, though admittedly not the sharpest tool in the shed (we say it with love!). I have had Rosie since she was an 8-week-old puppy, but due to ongoing health issues I have, I can no longer give her the care she deserves. A fenced yard is a must, as she loves to run and explore. Rosie gets along well with dogs her size or larger, though she has never lived with cats & she tends to chase the neighborhood ones she sees outside. If you are looking for a loving, low-key companion who is happiest snuggled up next to you on the couch, Rosie could be the perfect fit. She is an indoor dog who just wants someone to love and spend time with.
