Story
Meet Willow!Hi there! My name is Willow, and I'm a sweet and playful four-year-old dog. I absolutely love being around kids, and I'm known for being great with them. Although I can be a bit skittish around men when we first meet, I quickly warm up and become playful once I feel comfortable.I have excellent house manners, which means I know how to behave well inside. I never beg for food, and you won't hear me barking unnecessarily. At night, I love to sleep at the foot of my fosters's bed, keeping them company and providing them with warmth and comfort.Sometimes, when my foster leaves, I may scratch at the door. However, with a bit of training and adjustment, this behavior will improve over time. It could be a good idea to consider using a crate or kennel to help me feel secure and comfortable when I'm alone.Overall, I'm a really nice dog, and I would make a wonderful companion for anyone looking for a loving and loyal furry friend. To set up a meet and greet or inquire about a dog, please first fill out an application at https://savinghoperescue.org/adopt It doesn't obligate you, but it is the first step. We don't get to all of the inquiries but respond to all applications. Thank you for choosing to rescue!

Story
Everyone's adoption numbers are down this year, and especially for larger dogs; so, Baytown Humane Society is trying to go the extra mile to make our bigger dogs more appealing! Abigail aka Abby has not only been fully vetted, spayed, and microchipped, she has also completed three weeks of professional training! This particular training group allows lifetime contact and follow-up on the dogs they train; so, the adopter will have access to their support and advice, if it is ever needed. We believe this perk to be value added to a great dog! =) We believe Abby to be predominantly a Smooth Coat Collie. She is approximately 18 months old and weighs about 60 pounds. She loves car rides and has proven to be a happy, intelligent dog that does well with people and other dogs. She is eager to please and learns quickly! Abby is absolutely ready to find her forever home. Some lucky family is going to love and cherish this beautiful dog for many years to come! She is a keeper!! If you are interested in adopting this spectacular dog, just complete the online pet adoption application you will find near her photos on our website: www.BaytownHumaneSociety.org

Story
This beautiful Momma just gave birth to 8 puppies in a loving foster home.  GINNY was a fantastic caregiver.  It is now her turn to have ALL the attention.  This gal is crate and potty trained.  In fact, she really likes hanging out and sleeping in her crate.  Her foster reports that she has had zero potty accidents!!  She walks well on a leash.  Ginny is both energetic and snuggly. She can relax with the best of them or play fetch and entertain herself chewing on toys While in foster, Ginny has been socializing with other doggies!  She will be open to sharing her new family castle! To meet Ginny, please fill out an online application. $200 Adoption covers spay/neuter, immunizations, microchip, and 1 month of Heartworm Prevention.  All dogs should remain on Heartworm Preventative for their lifetime..   For all pet inquiries, please email our Adoption Director at adoptions@dognkittycity.org or text the shelter at (214) 350-7387. Not good with dogs,
Story
Tootsie was surrendered due to her owner's health. She is still very nervous being at the shelter and in a new environment, but has slowly been getting used to the shelter. Tootsie would thrive in a quieter home that will give her time to settle in. Once she feels comfortable, she loves body scratches. Her previous owner stated that she does not do well with livestock or chickens and that she will chase them, but has not harmed them. She has lived outdoors most of her life, so we do not know if she is housetrained or potty trained. She is not dog reactive but did not get along with another dog while in foster, so it is highly recommended that Tootsie be an only pet. She was the same with the cats, so she would be better in a home without cats. Tootsie is VERY distrusting of men and boys. She walks very well on a leash. She does well in a crate, and does not potty while in her kennel. Tootsie is spayed. Tootsie was fostered for a while and her foster stated that she is just not happy as an indoor dog. Tootsie gets very anxious inside and would benefit from being an outdoor dog. Tootsie will pace the She has received her DHPP and Bordetella vaccination, is heartworm negative, and on prevention. The adopter will be responsible for getting her rabies updated.
