Ranger is a very sweet, affectionate, loyal boy who wants to please. Unfortunately, he’s high-energy and not happy with city life – he wants to be out in the country where he can be with his person/people going in and out all day running around and barking to his heart’s content, then curling up with you in the living room at night. Ranger is hands down the smartest Collie we’ve ever met and would do very well with someone who was looking for a working dog or someone interested in getting into agility sports. Ranger loves going for car rides and walks, he’s leash trained and walks well with other dogs. He has separation anxiety and he does not do well in crates – he will need to go to doggie daycare or a pet sitter if your schedule requires you to be gone from home for extended periods of time. Ranger needs an experienced owner/family who can give him calm, consistent ongoing training and positive reinforcement; a family with young children would probably not be a good fit.

At night, I love to sleep at the foot of my fosters's bed, keeping them company and providing them with warmth and comfort.Sometimes, when my foster leaves, I may scratch at the door. However, with a bit of training and adjustment, this behavior will improve over time. Their foster has had them fully vetted and been caring for them while trying to find forever homes.  They're typical puppies and spend their days sleeping, eating, chewing, and playing. House training is going well (they make noise when they need to go out), are very good at taking treats from people, comfortable with being held, and are good at the vet. Both girls get along with other dogs and are currently living with three much larger dogs in their foster home. They do not need to be adopted together.
