Pretty Penny Penny is an 8-year-old female rough collie with the softest coat and the sweetest personality. She loves gentle pets, kind words, and someone who will tell her how beautiful and special she is several times a day. Penny is happiest simply being near her people and will quietly follow you from room to room, content to be your loyal sidekick. She is the perfect companion for someone looking for a low-maintenance collie who craves love and attention but doesn't need a lot of activity to be happy. As a senior girl, Penny moves at a slower pace and has some arthritis in her back legs, so she would thrive in a home that appreciates a laid-back lifestyle. She is currently on a fitness journey and has been steadily losing weight, which is improving her mobility every day. Penny enjoys short, leisurely walks and walks nicely on a leash. As an added bonus, she has no interest in jumping on furniture or greeting guests with muddy paws! Penny would prefer to be the only dog in her home. She socializes well with other dogs in neutral settings, such as on walks or in the backyard, but can be protective of her personal space when sharing a home with another dog. She is not possessive with people and absolutely loves human companionship. This sweet girl is incredibly people-oriented and has wonderful house manners. She is never destructive, enjoys spending time in her kennel, and can be left alone indoors for several hours without issue. Penny is looking for a family that understands the needs of a senior dog, including limited stairs, rugs or carpeting for secure footing, and a little help getting into the car when needed. Because of her mobility limitations, Penny would do best in a home with children over the age of six. She has not been cat-tested, but given her easygoing personality and low prey drive, we do not anticipate any issues. Meet Piper. 5.5-6 yrs old. She’s been fully vetted and is ready for adoption. Piper came from a local shelter as a stray. Her medical has been lengthy and expensive as she went through heartworm treatment and had entropian surgery for one of her eyes. That’s where they fix the eyelashes from rolling inward and scratching the eye causing it to weep from irritation. She’s all healthy and feeling great. Piper is sweet, playful and mostly obedient. She is completely housebroken. Though Piper likes to play with other dogs she needs to be in a no other dog home since she resource guards her food. She would just love having a person she can snuggle on the couch with. We had Piper DNA’d and she is 50/50 smooth collie & husky. Sophie is an 11 year old, 70lb, spayed Collie mix. She is up to date on her vaccinations and is heartworm negative. She is good with children and loves to play with other dogs. She would not do well with cats or chickens due to her prey drive. Sophie is crate and house trained and walks well on leash. She is an active, playful girl who prefers daily walks to get her energy out. She would love to snuggle with you on the couch and give hugs to everyone she meets! Sophie came into our rescue as a young puppy, she was adopted twice and had forever homes for approximately 3-1/2 years both times. Both times she was returned due to changes in the family dynamics through no fault of hers. Benji is 11 year old. I adopted him from a shelter. I've had him since he was a puppy. He is easy going and get along with other cats and dogs. When on a leash he does bark at other pets, but he's just excited and wanted to say hi. He does get very anxious to loud sounds like raining, thunderstorm, fireworks or smoke detector and smoke detector battery low. He would hide in tight spaces and scratch at the ground non-stop. This is the biggest reason why I have decided to re-home him. He has this anxiety behaviors since he was young. Due to my recent relocating, I am unable to care for his needs. He is looking for a home that has the patience, care and compassion for his behaviors. Please reach out if you are that family for him.

I adopted Kai when he was 4 months old. I have a doggy door that he figured out in 24 hours. Kai is a high energy dog and needs someone that can be firm with him. He is just too strong for me to handle. He is highly trainable but the person training him needs to be strong. He is affectionate, a big old lap baby (he has outgrown my lap) and he will try to sneak into my side of the bed. Most importantly he needs a large yard that he can expend all his energy iand daily walks. Another important issue is the cat. At first he didn’t know what the cat was lol. He chases him and challenges him every day. Smokey has no quality of life. He sneaks in through the doggy door and then Kai chases him to his food bowl (which is up high) he then chases the cat back out the doggy door and over the fence. Smokey is not the problem, he has been raised with dogs and will even give them baths & kisses. Kai needs a better living condition and Smokey deserves peace. My other dog will miss him.
