Story
Sophie is an 8 year old, 60lb, spayed Collie mix. She is up to date on her vaccinations and is heartworm negative. She is good with children and loves to play with other dogs. She would not do well with cats or chickens due to her prey drive. Sophie is crate and house trained and walks well on leash. She is an active, playful girl who prefers daily walks to get her energy out. She would love to snuggle with you on the couch and give hugs to everyone she meets! Sophie came into our rescue as a young puppy, she was adopted twice and had forever homes for approximately 3-1/2 years both times. Both times she was returned due to changes in the family dynamics through no fault of hers. She is looking for a REAL forever home this time - one that she can live out her remaining years with love and companionship. If you are interested in adopting, please complete an adoption application at www.hhfrescue.org. Thank you for considering a rescued dog!

Story
Harley is a beautiful mahogany sable rough coat collie.  She is 11 years old.  She loves to follow you around, especially if treats are involved.  Harley loves to lay in the afternoon sun and she likes affection when she initiates it and can also be very playful.  She enjoys laying by your feet and napping if you are home or busy where you are sitting for long periods of time.  Harley does startle wih some loud noises so she does enjoy naps during the day on a bed in a quiet room.  Gentle reassurance everything is ok seems to put her at ease if she get startled.  She sometimes does pace a little but seems to find her place after a little bit and lays down.  Harley is non reactive to cats in her foster home.  She takes treats very gently but she is pretty picky about her food.  She does not like dry kibble alone, but she does like some wet food on top!  Harley takes her time eating, so you will need to give her some time to eat her meals.  She DOES not like her collar grabbed.  She does not react aggressively, just becomes very scared and will try to get away.  Harley walks well on a leash and does well on car rides.  As a golden senior, Harley will do best without any young children or reactive dogs that would get in her face.  Harley has no food aggression and no reaction to thunderstorms.  She is not the usual collie barker, but will chime in if the other dogs bark.  Harley is currently on rimadyl and librela injections for some arthritis.  But at her age, who doesn't have some aches and pains!  If you think you could offer Harley a stable, quiet home, please apply at www.freedomcollierescue.org ##1914385##

Story
Our foster family says that Dolly is the sweetest, most gentle Collie they've ever had.  Such a sweet disposition, and never "in your face" like other dogs can be sometimes.  She would probably graze her food all day but other dogs would eat it for her.  She loves attention, and being petted, but she's never pushy about it.  She's petite for a Collie and just gorgeous!  She does well on a leash, knows "sit" (haven't tried much more than that) and likes car rides.  She does like to walk around the back seat and watch everything that's doing on while riding!  She tries to open doors by hitting the door knob with her paw, and that works sometimes (when the door opens out, not in) which seems fairly intelligent! Dolly needs a fenced yard to run and play.  She would also do good with another playmate.  Dolly has tested positive for heartworms and we are starting her treatment. Story
Einstein is a sweet senior collie of 11 years.  His dad recently passed away and now Einstein finds himself needing a new forever home.  He gets along with other dogs, but what Einstein really wants, is a quite home with a retired couple or someone who works from home.  He is use to being with his dad 24/7 and you can tell he misses him.  Einstein has some of the normal medical needs of a senior collie.  He does have some arthritis and stairs would have to be avoided.  If you are the right fit for Einstein, please apply at freedomcollierescue.org ##1860257##
