Story
If you would like more information about Riften or are interested in adopting her, please send an email to colemunoz123@gmail.com Riften is a sweet 2-year-old herding-breed mix (Aussie/Collie-type). She is gentle and affectionate, no aggression observed. She appears to have had prior neglect and is still adjusting to being well cared for. Riften is partially house trained and improving. Due to significant stress and health concerns for a resident small dog, we are hoping to have Riften rehomed with a great family who can spoil her. Story
Meet Piper. 5.5-6 yrs old. She’s been fully vetted and is ready for adoption. Piper came from a local shelter as a stray. Her medical has been lengthy and expensive as she went through heartworm treatment and had entropian surgery for one of her eyes. That’s where they fix the eyelashes from rolling inward and scratching the eye causing it to weep from irritation. She’s all healthy and feeling great. Piper is sweet, playful and mostly obedient. She is completely housebroken. Though Piper likes to play with other dogs she needs to be in a no other dog home since she resource guards her food. She would just love having a person she can snuggle on the couch with. We had Piper DNA’d and she is 50/50 smooth collie & husky. You may apply for Piper at https://houstoncollierescue.org/ado.../adoption-application/ We adopt anywhere in Texas, OKC and Louisiana.

Story
Welcome Poppy! 51 lb, 1.5 years. We’ve had her fully vetted and spayed. At first, she is shy, nervous and bit overwhelmed, as expected. She was a bit grumbly when she first met the resident male dogs but that has all settled down. She attaches to her female human very quickly. She is very sweet and wants lots of petting. She walks fine on a leash, house trained, knows sit, come, wait and turn to name a few commands and just lays wonderfully for lots of brushing. We’ve seen no food aggression. She likes walks but can be afraid of cars and strange men not part of her house. She does not get on furniture but loves rugs and dog beds. She has found her voice barking at birds, squirrels and amazon deliveries. She prefers women and is wary of men but is making progress by laying at the feet of her foster dad. She does not like being crated but has been left out and so far, so good and sleeps at night in the bedroom with the other dogs. No chewing or misbehavior. She will play with a toy but prefers to run with the other dogs but then cuddles when resting. Poppy is available for adoption. Local adopters with indoor living and a fenced yard for exercise and going potty. Apply at houstoncollierescue.org

Story
Sophie is an 10 year old, 70lb, spayed Collie mix. She is up to date on her vaccinations and is heartworm negative. She is good with children and loves to play with other dogs. She would not do well with cats or chickens due to her prey drive. Sophie is crate and house trained and walks well on leash. She is an active, playful girl who prefers daily walks to get her energy out. She would love to snuggle with you on the couch and give hugs to everyone she meets! Sophie came into our rescue as a young puppy, she was adopted twice and had forever homes for approximately 3-1/2 years both times. Both times she was returned due to changes in the family dynamics through no fault of hers. She is looking for a REAL forever home this time - one that she can live out her remaining years with love and companionship. If you are interested in adopting, please complete an adoption application at www.hhfrescue.org. Thank you for considering a rescued dog!

Story
LOVES TO SNUGGLE AND GET OODLES OF ATTENTION  Estimated DOB 3/25/24, weight 40 lbs. This young girl Calliope is very sweet and playful, and has energy to spare!  Her foster home has several dogs and Calliope wants to play -- er -- wrestle with all of them.  She loves to go on walks, meet new people, play with her stuffed animal toys, and snuggle on the couch for movie time. Calliope was abandoned in the parking lot of a PetSmart but fortunately, her future foster mom worked at the store and scooped her right up! Calliope knows Sit and Wait, and likes to sleep in her crate at night.   Calliope would love a home where she can get lots of attention and exercise as well as have a canine brother or sister to play with.  Is that you? HOPE ID D24-1116-0045 Calliope's $200 adoption fee includes spay/neuter, basic vaccines, microchip and registration, testing for heartworms, negative fecal test, and preventative treatment for heartworms and fleas. Story
Glow is a sweet and affectionate girl who’s ready to light up her forever home. She’s happiest when snuggled close for belly rubs or snoozing in the sun, but she also has a playful side—her goofy naps and love for peanut butter will keep you smiling every day. She’s house-trained / crate-trained / potty trained / good on leash and she gets along well with dogs. Glow would thrive in a home that has another pup to be her companion. Her perfect family will appreciate her gentle nature and give her the love and stability she deserves. In return, Glow will offer endless loyalty, comfort, and joy. 🐾❤️ She may take a few minutes to adapt to a new place but once she opens up, she shows her sweet and gentle personality. Glow is a regular at daycare and boarding where she is a staff favorite. Glow is being fostered in Texas, but can travel to any state, and even Canada for the right home. To meet our gorgeous pups via facetime or whatsapp or other video chat apps, please send a completed application via www.savesomesouls.com Yards MUST BE adequately and fully fenced to adopt our pups. We do not accept electric or underground fences. Glow's adoption fee is $400 and includes all vetting (DAPP with booster, Bordetella, Rabies vaccine, multiple broad spectrum deworming treatments, spay/neuter surgery and recovery, heartworm and flea prevention), a microchip with free lifetime registration, a high quality nylon Martingale collar, and Harness. Our dogs are fully assessed by foster parents, vets and behaviorists, as well as videos and video chats are available to observe their manners in public. We are extremely transparent and like to share everything negative and positive with the adopters, to ensure it's a good fit and they are not returned to us, as the trips are very stressful on them. Houston is home to million strays, many who are abandoned, many born on the streets, many who escaped while living in the yard, which is common in Texas. Since our rescue does not get grants that shelters get, we use adoption fee to help the pups and kitties in our care. Your adoption fee goes towards vetting and feeding our long term and permanent fosters, and unadoptable pups, as well as towards the monthly care and preventatives etc of our pets. By adopting one pup from our rescue, you make room for another dog to be rescued our high kill shelter, thus becoming an integral part of our mission to save as many unfortunate dogs off the streets and shelters as possible. So Thank you for choosing to rescue, and not go to a breeder.
