Story
If you would like more information about Riften or are interested in adopting her, please send an email to colemunoz123@gmail.com Riften is a sweet 2-year-old herding-breed mix (Aussie/Collie-type). She is gentle and affectionate, no aggression observed. She appears to have had prior neglect and is still adjusting to being well cared for. Riften is partially house trained and improving. Due to significant stress and health concerns for a resident small dog, we are hoping to have Riften rehomed with a great family who can spoil her. Story
Meet Piper. 5.5-6 yrs old. She’s been fully vetted and is ready for adoption. Piper came from a local shelter as a stray. Her medical has been lengthy and expensive as she went through heartworm treatment and had entropian surgery for one of her eyes. That’s where they fix the eyelashes from rolling inward and scratching the eye causing it to weep from irritation. She’s all healthy and feeling great. Piper is sweet, playful and mostly obedient. She is completely housebroken. Though Piper likes to play with other dogs she needs to be in a no other dog home since she resource guards her food. She would just love having a person she can snuggle on the couch with. We had Piper DNA’d and she is 50/50 smooth collie & husky. You may apply for Piper at https://houstoncollierescue.org/ado.../adoption-application/ We adopt anywhere in Texas, OKC and Louisiana.

Story
Welcome Poppy! 51 lb, 1.5 years. We’ve had her fully vetted and spayed. At first, she is shy, nervous and bit overwhelmed, as expected. She was a bit grumbly when she first met the resident male dogs but that has all settled down. She attaches to her female human very quickly. She is very sweet and wants lots of petting. She walks fine on a leash, house trained, knows sit, come, wait and turn to name a few commands and just lays wonderfully for lots of brushing. We’ve seen no food aggression. She likes walks but can be afraid of cars and strange men not part of her house. She does not get on furniture but loves rugs and dog beds. She has found her voice barking at birds, squirrels and amazon deliveries. She prefers women and is wary of men but is making progress by laying at the feet of her foster dad. She does not like being crated but has been left out and so far, so good and sleeps at night in the bedroom with the other dogs. No chewing or misbehavior. She will play with a toy but prefers to run with the other dogs but then cuddles when resting. Poppy is available for adoption. Local adopters with indoor living and a fenced yard for exercise and going potty. Apply at houstoncollierescue.org

Story
Grace’s journey to safety is nothing short of remarkable. Found living outside a rural Arkansas gas station, she had been surviving entirely on her own. Severely underweight at just 29 pounds, she arrived in rescue shy, exhausted, and unsure of what kindness felt like. Once welcomed into a warm home, Grace blossomed. She quickly discovered the joys of soft beds, full bowls, and gentle hands. Her initial shyness has melted into a sweet, affectionate personality. Grace loves love. She leans in for soft pets, follows her people with quiet devotion, and radiates gratitude in everything she does. She’s wonderful with other dogs and has been very sweet and respectful toward the resident cat. Her collie nature shines through in her intelligence, sensitivity, and unmistakably gentle spirit. Grace is house trained and crate trained. She settles nicely in her crate, though she may give a few soft barks at first before relaxing. She has gained healthy weight and is feeling stronger every day. She is currently undergoing treatment for heartworm disease, and the rescue will cover all of her care. She has already been spayed and vaccinated. Despite everything she has endured, she remains soft, trusting, and beautifully resilient. With continued love and patience this girl is truly going to shine. We estimate Grace to be 5 years old.   Now she is ready for the chapter she has always deserved, her very own forever home filled with love.If you are looking for a loyal companion with a tender heart and a story that will stay with you, Grace is waiting. ##2602287##

LOVES TO SNUGGLE AND GET OODLES OF ATTENTION  Estimated DOB 3/25/24, weight 40 lbs. This young girl Calliope is very sweet and playful, and has energy to spare!  Her foster home has several dogs and Calliope wants to play -- er -- wrestle with all of them.  She loves to go on walks, meet new people, play with her stuffed animal toys, and snuggle on the couch for movie time. Calliope was abandoned in the parking lot of a PetSmart but fortunately, her future foster mom worked at the store and scooped her right up! Calliope knows Sit and Wait, and likes to sleep in her crate at night.   Calliope would love a home where she can get lots of attention and exercise as well as have a canine brother or sister to play with.  Is that you? Story
Glow is a sweet and affectionate girl who’s ready to light up her forever home. She’s happiest when snuggled close for belly rubs or snoozing in the sun, but she also has a playful side—her goofy naps and love for peanut butter will keep you smiling every day. She’s house-trained / crate-trained / potty trained / good on leash and she gets along well with dogs. Glow would thrive in a home that has another pup to be her companion. Her perfect family will appreciate her gentle nature and give her the love and stability she deserves. In return, Glow will offer endless loyalty, comfort, and joy. 🐾❤️ She may take a few minutes to adapt to a new place but once she opens up, she shows her sweet and gentle personality. Glow is a regular at daycare and boarding where she is a staff favorite. Glow is being fostered in Texas, but can travel to any state, and even Canada for the right home. To meet our gorgeous pups via facetime or whatsapp or other video chat apps, please send a completed application via www.savesomesouls.com Yards MUST BE adequately and fully fenced to adopt our pups. We do not accept electric or underground fences. Glow's adoption fee includes all vetting (DAPP with booster, Bordetella, Rabies vaccine, multiple broad spectrum deworming treatments, spay/neuter surgery and recovery, heartworm and flea prevention), a microchip with free lifetime registration, a high quality nylon Martingale collar, and Harness. Our dogs are fully assessed by foster parents, vets and behaviorists, as well as videos and video chats are available to observe their manners in public. We are extremely transparent and like to share everything negative and positive with the adopters, to ensure it's a good fit and they are not returned to us, as the trips are very stressful on them. Houston is home to million strays, many who are abandoned, many born on the streets, many who escaped while living in the yard, which is common in Texas. Since our rescue does not get grants that shelters get, we use adoption fee to help the pups and kitties in our care. Your adoption fee goes towards vetting and feeding our long term and permanent fosters, and unadoptable pups, as well as towards the monthly care and preventatives etc of our pets. By adopting one pup from our rescue, you make room for another dog to be rescued our high kill shelter, thus becoming an integral part of our mission to save as many unfortunate dogs off the streets and shelters as possible. So Thank you for choosing to rescue, and not go to a breeder.

Story
Sweet puppy Prince is a 20 months old Australian Kelpie, who loves other dogs. He is very well behaved, mild mannered, obedient pup. Prince was found starving and neglected, when our vet tech rescued him to save his life. Prince also got 2 weeks obedience training and his trainer said that he is one of the best pups they have had in their program. Prince loves his chew toys and treats. He is currently living with his best friend Pongo and they are inseparable. We are hoping they can be adopted together but he can be with any pup, he is such a good boy. Prince is 40 lb. He is fully vetted, and neutered. He is also chipped and heartworm negative. His adoption fee includes all his shots (DAPP, Rabies, Bordetella) as well as heartworm test, and neuter surgery, and deworming schedule. Prince is being fostered in Texas, and can travel to any state, and even Canada to the right home. To adopt our puppies, yards must be fully and adequately fenced. We do not accept invisible or electric fences. To meet this sweet pup via facetime or whatsapp or other video chat apps, please send a completed application form via www.savesomesouls.com Our dogs are fully assessed by foster parents, vets and behaviorists, as well as videos and video chats are available to observe their manners in public. We are extremely transparent and like to share everything negative and positive with the adopters, to ensure it's a good fit and they are not returned to us, as the trips are very stressful on them. If, after meeting a pup, the foster parent or the adoption applicant do not feel they are a good fit for each other, we often offer other pups who are better fit.
