Picture a husky face on a corgi body, and that’s what these dogs are. They are so stinking cute and you can’t help but smile when you see them.  They were turned into the shelter as strays and we were able to get them out before they were put down due to lack of space at the shelter. The male, Digby, is a little shy around new people but loves other dogs. Like any good man, he follows Edith’s lead on how to act.  Edith is Miss Confident. She loves people, snuggling, and going for walks. They are a bonded pair. Please do not ask us to separate them. If you’d like to meet them, please fill out an application:https://www.muttsinneed.org/adoption-application.htmlSeptember 16, 2024, 12:55 am

She’s missing one of her front paws, after being hit by a car in Armenia, so she can’t run as fast as most dogs but she gets by just fine for a tripod!  She loves dogs and warms up to people quickly. We’re not sure of her conditions before living in Orange County but she loves grass. She loves sunbathing in it and laying in it.   If you’d like to love on Sabina and maybe sunbathe with her, apply at https://www.muttsinneed.org/adoption-application.htmlSeptember 16, 2024, 12:55 am

Story
Loki, about 2 years old,  Chihuahua/Corgi mix,  male,  about 15 lbs.,  neutered, microchipped, vaccinate d  and house broken. Loki was surrendered by the family who had him since he was 3 months old. A family member developed an allergy and could no longer keep the puppy. He was surrendered to No Stray Left Behind rescue on Sunday, 6/30 and I’ve been fostering him since. As you can imagine, it was very traumatic  for  Loki to be left behind and he was not eating for a couple of days. He seems to have imprinted on me and is just now getting more comfortable losing sight of me. He’s been left alone  in the  house with our dog, Penny, twice and there have been no incidents. As soon as he learned the  “ going outside routine ”  and where the pee pads are, we’ve had no accidents. Loki is a cuddle bug. He’s so incredibly sweet.  He sits  on my lap  as I work  and he doesn’t disturb me at all. He also loves to play fetch and chew on his toys (doesn’t chew anything else in the house). He’s also a great walker. However, we think he was not used to walk ing  on pavement, so his paws are sensitive. Penny likes to be the only dog in the house, but they have come to an understanding and tolerate each other. They don’t play together , but are slowly becoming friends . Penny doesn’t like to cuddle, so Loki is not taking her space.   Please visit www.nostrayleftbehind.com to see our schedule for adoption events. All adoptions require an application and home visit. All of our dogs live in foster homes and are usually available to be seen at PetSmart in the Tustin Marketplace between 11:30-4:00 most Sundays. September 14, 2024, 2:13 pm

Story
Queen Elizabeth was found behind AALOC, cowering under a car, afraid to come out. Luckily the AALOC team is amazingly skilled at gaining the trust of frightened animals and was able to convince Queen Elizabeth to allow them to help her. Multiple attempts were made to find her previous owners but no one claimed her, so Queen Elizabeth Is ready to start a new life with a new family. We believe Queen Elizabeth is a very young corgi mix. She was in foster care recently after being spayed and her foster called Queen Elizabeth “a real character” and “a lot of fun.” They said she likes to play with squeeky toys and will run after them when they are tossed. She’s a good walker and gets along with other small dogs. She is both potty pad and crate trained. Please complete an application to adopt Queen Elizabeth at www.AALOC.org. Once your application is reviewed and approved, we will contact you to make an appointment to visit us at AALOC to meet ‘Queen E’ and get to know her a bit. Adoption donation of $165 per dog includes spay/neuter, vaccinations, and a microchip. Applications require a veterinary reference and home visit. We adopt to residents of Orange County, CA and surrounding areas. Please note: For families with children, we require children to be 10 years of age or older, although exceptions are made depending on the circumstances. For more information on our adoption policies visit our website at www.AALOC.org or contact us by e-mail at aaloc@aaloc.org.

Story
This formally dressed chap is Dexter, a 7 years old Corgi/Cattledog mix who weighs about 45 pounds. Dexter knows all of his basics: Sit, stay, wait for food and wait before entering a room, and lay down. He is house and crate trained, and sleeps in his crate every night. Dexter is a nice guy with adults and older kids. He isn’t a fan of small kids, which is why he is looking for a new home. He would appreciate a home with older kids or just adults. Dexter loves a good game of fetch and can catch a ball in midair. He is a good traveler, as he is good in the car and good on leash. He does pull in the leash some, though. He loves car rides, camping, and swimming. Dexter’s ideal home is with an active person or couple who also thinks that he is all they need. He is best as an only dog in a home. For that person, he loves to cuddle. Belly rubs are a favorite, too. He is a great little guy who just needs the right home. Dexter is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations. He is located in Santa Clarita and is ready to meet adopters who can meet and adopt here. A home visit and vet reference are required.
