Story
Meet this fabulous little girl! She appears to be a Westie mix, is about 1 year old, and weighs approximately 17 pounds. And let us tell you—she is absolutely fabulous! ✨ She is potty trained, walks beautifully on a leash, and once she feels comfortable, she is a wonderful little companion. She’s smart, sweet, and has so much potential to become your very best friend. There is just one important thing you need to know about her: she takes time to warm up. She isn’t the type of dog who will immediately run up to a new person and act like they’ve been best friends forever. She needs patience, consistency, and most importantly, someone who is willing to give her at least 30 days to truly feel safe and comfortable with you. If you’re looking for an instant connection, she may not be the right match. But if you’re willing to be patient and allow her to come out of her shell on her own timeline, we believe the bond you build with her will be incredibly special. ❤️ She’s only one year old and has her whole life ahead of her. She deserves someone who understands that earning a dog’s trust is one of the most rewarding things you can do. Could you be the patient, loving person she’s been waiting for? fochp.org for more information or Adoption application       For a complete list of our pets and photos please visit our website fochp.org  September 7, 2026, 3:19 pm

Story
Bailey and her sister, Cora, came to the shelter very afraid. They hadn’t had any stability in their short lives, and needed some time to settle in to yet another new environment. These girls have really blossomed and thrived while having structure here at the shelter. They have learned how to walk on leash and that people aren’t so scary – a lot of them have treats! Miss Bailey is a Terrier/Corgi mix around 10 months old. You can definitely see those Corgi herding instincts as she plays with her group of doggy friends here at the shelter. She LOVES her walks, and is getting much better at being leashed up for them, as that was very scary for her in the beginning. Now, she has become more comfortable with meeting new volunteers here at the shelter, but still may take some time to warm up when meeting potential adopters. Bailey would love to have another doggy sibling in the home, and would do best with older children (16 and up). She is such a cute girl, and very affectionate and playful when she is comfortable with you. We can’t wait for her to settle into a home and thrive!September 8, 2026, 10:35 am

Story
Meet Sully, our short-stack bundle of love, silliness, and fun! Sully is a 1-year-old, 35 lb. Corgi/Beagle mix who is gentle, affectionate, and friendly with both people and dogs. He’s the kind of pup who can fit into many different types of homes. Sully is crate trained, potty trained, and thriving in his foster home alongside a 93 lb. Mastiff mix named Theo. He currently lives in a townhome with one shared wall and does great staying home while his foster mom works from 8–4. He loves his morning and evening walks, and his favorite activity is going for long leash runs at the park. Sully is also incredibly smart—within just a week of leaving the shelter, he learned to walk in a heel position and quickly picked up recall. While he still needs a little work with leash manners when not heeling, he’s making great progress every day. One of the best things about Sully is how loving and cuddly he is. He’s gentle, submissive, and will happily roll onto his back for belly rubs. He absolutely loves playing with Theo, whether they’re chasing each other around or sharing toys together. Sully is respectful, does not guard toys, and responds very well to corrections from other dogs. Even when his playful puppy energy gets him a little too close to Theo’s face, he immediately backs off when corrected. Sully is also a great listener and responds well when told “no.” He’s truly a sweet, happy, easygoing boy who is ready to bring so much love and joy to his forever home. If you are interested in adopting, please visit the I.C.A.R.E. Dog Rescue website and complete an adoption application: www.icaredogrescue.org/ready-to-adopt Adoption fee includes: spay/neuter • shots up to date • micro-chip • fecal and vet check Breeds and age are not guaranteed. Story
Mickey is an adorable and sweet boy with an undeserving past.  He was owner surrendered to us by the daughter of the owner who is in end of life care due to brain tumors.  However, Mickey was already microchipped and we traced down the chip.  Turns out this boy was dropped into a "night deposit" at a local shelter in 2022 and then adopted out to a John Smith and we don't know how many people he has been with from him to the ones we received him from, but this boy doesn't deserve the life he's had so far.  He is a picture perfect dog.  He gets along with cats, dogs, chickens, kids...everything.  He is crate trained and prefers to sleep in his crate for naps and puts himself away in it for breakfast, dinner and bedtime.  He is fully housetrained and walks beautifully on a leash.  He is the sweetest dog and we really want to make sure that his next home is going to be his last.  He is a few pounds overweight, but has already lost a couple in our care.  We had full blood work done on him and he is in picture perfect health.  Mickey is a wonderful dog and would make anyone a wonderful companion.  If you'd like more information on Mickey, please email greendogfoundation@gmail.com or if you'd like to fill out an application for adoption, go to www.greendogfoundation.org.  Mickey's adoption fee is $450 and he is fully vaccinated including rabies, neutered and microchipped.  September 3, 2026, 6:43 pm
