1️⃣ Health Condition
* Spayed.
* Microchipped, heartworm negative, and successfully finished medication for anaplasma (to be retested in October).
* Requires frequent eye drops and ointment for dry eyes. Her eyes look cloudy due to the ointment. Doesn’t have high ocular pressure or any pain.
2️⃣ Rescue Story
* Baeksoon was staying at the Gimje City Shelter. During a brutal heatwave, the shelter environment was highly vulnerable to infectious diseases. Fearing for young Baeksoon’s health, Adogs stepped in urgently to save her.
3️⃣ Basic Information
* With People: Smells strangers when meeting them but is a bit fearful. However, can easily make friends through treats. Once close, becomes a total sweetheart and a clingy "Velcro dog" who sticks right behind her foster parent even during workouts. Now, upon waking up in the morning, rests her front paws on the bed, wags her tail, smiles happily, and begs to be lifted up and petted. Excitedly zooms around as soon as her foster parent steps out of bed.
* With Dogs: Loves dog friends and is sociable. Approaches new dogs with curious interest and initiates play with her housemate using enthusiastic play bows. Gentle and yielding by nature, she willingly shares or surrenders her treats and toys to other dogs.
* With Cats: Used to show fear when encountering cats during walks, but now passes by calmly.
* Separation Anxiety: Shows zero separation anxiety. However, if left alone for very long stretches, she may shred paper towels or tissue boxes to destress.
* Potty Training: Uses indoor potty pads perfectly for pee, but strongly prefers doing her poo outdoors. Will patiently hold it until her next morning walk if rain cancels an evening walk.
* Hygiene: Is very cooperative during baths and blow drying. Tolerates the blow dryer in her face when it’s on a low setting, although she occasionally tries to avoid it. Accepts nail trims, paw hair trimming, and coat brushing very sweetly without any fuss!
* Walks: Does very well. Sniffs around and stops to wait for her handler. Gets super excited before walks begin, so a short routine to lower her excitement level prior to stepping out can be helpful.
* Car Sickness: Although she panted, she handled a long car ride well without vomiting. However, because she is timid, she may have an occasional pee accident inside her crate if nervous.
* Biting: Shows zero biting or aggressive tendencies. When uncomfortable, she simply freezes like a gentle sweetheart.
* Barking: Is remarkably quiet with almost no barking when indoors. However, there was an instance where she kept barking when adult men approached her family’s picnic spot repeatedly and she barks more often than usual when outside. More observation is needed to see how often she barks in new environments.
* Personality & Preferences: Cautious yet very curious and loves people. Although she’s careful at first with physical affection and new places due to her docile nature, she opens up her heart quickly once she adjusts. Once trust is established, rubs face against hands to show affection. Sh just turned one year old, so with consistent training, affection and sociability will continue to blossom.
