They are so stinking cute and you can’t help but smile when you see them.  They were turned into the shelter as strays and we were able to get them out before they were put down due to lack of space at the shelter. The male, Digby, is a little shy around new people but loves other dogs. Like any good man, he follows Edith’s lead on how to act.  Edith is Miss Confident. She loves people, snuggling, and going for walks. They are a bonded pair. This formally dressed chap is Dexter, a 7 years old Corgi/Cattledog mix who weighs about 45 pounds. Dexter knows all of his basics: Sit, stay, wait for food and wait before entering a room, and lay down. He is house and crate trained, and sleeps in his crate every night. Dexter is a nice guy with adults and older kids. He isn’t a fan of small kids, which is why he is looking for a new home. He would appreciate a home with older kids or just adults. Dexter loves a good game of fetch and can catch a ball in midair. He is a good traveler, as he is good in the car and good on leash. He does pull in the leash some, though. He loves car rides, camping, and swimming. Dexter’s ideal home is with an active person or couple who also thinks that he is all they need. He is best as an only dog in a home. For that person, he loves to cuddle. Belly rubs are a favorite, too. He is a great little guy who just needs the right home. Dexter is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations. He is located in Santa Clarita and is ready to meet adopters who can meet and adopt here. A home visit and vet reference are required.

The application is the first step in the adoption process, so if you are interested in adopting please fill out the online adoption application  first by visiting our website at www.dachshundpaws.org    Gypsy is a 1 year old Corgi. She’s a very sweet girl. She can be a bit shy at first, but once she settles in she is a typical puppy. Gypsy loves to play with other dogs and does the zoomies around the yard. Gypsy is crate trained. Gypsy would love a playful sibling, but can also be an only dog as long as she’s not home alone for long hours. Gypsy is all ready to meet her new family!  Gypsy‘s adoption fee $500We do not have a kennel or facility to visit, all dogs are kept in foster homes until their forever homes are found.Adoption Process: Once an approved application is on file, we will then set up a home visit. At that time we will bring the dog to the home in which you will all be sharing. We ask the entire family to be there that day. Story
Lemmy is 4 years old. We rescued him when he was about a year old. He is the sweetest dog and has the biggest heart. He has been amazing with our other corgi. He gives us huge smiles every time we walk in the door and loves to play in the backyard. He also loves camping and going on hikes. He unfortunately does not do well with small children. We have a very active 18 month old and it has become a safety concern. He would be a great dog for someone without kids and who loves being outdoors. He’s a very special boy and we are so sad to let him go.
