Story
Bailey and her sister, Cora, came to the shelter very afraid. They hadn’t had any stability in their short lives, and needed some time to settle in to yet another new environment. These girls have really blossomed and thrived while having structure here at the shelter. They have learned how to walk on leash and that people aren’t so scary – a lot of them have treats! Miss Bailey is a Terrier/Corgi mix around 10 months old. You can definitely see those Corgi herding instincts as she plays with her group of doggy friends here at the shelter. She LOVES her walks, and is getting much better at being leashed up for them, as that was very scary for her in the beginning. Now, she has become more comfortable with meeting new volunteers here at the shelter, but still may take some time to warm up when meeting potential adopters. Bailey would love to have another doggy sibling in the home, and would do best with older children (16 and up). She is such a cute girl, and very affectionate and playful when she is comfortable with you. We can’t wait for her to settle into a home and thrive!August 27, 2026, 9:48 am

Story
#A5782770 Chato is a 2-year-old male Corgi mix with an adorable long body, short legs, and an irresistibly unique look. Surrendered by his owner due to a bite, but Chato is a sweet boy who's still adjusting to shelter life. 🤎 Chato can be a little nervous at first, especially on a leash, but he's friendly with people and enjoys gentle affection once he feels safe. He knows "sit," shows signs of being housebroken, and has a nice medium energy level. Chato is happiest with calm dogs and would thrive in a patient, adult-only home where he can build confidence and trust at his own pace. He's currently being treated for minor medical issues and will go home on a health waiver. -2 years old, male -Corgi mix -Owner surrender due to behavioral issues -Nervous but friendly -Knows "sit", shows signs of housebreaking -Medium energy -Best with calm dogs -Adult-only home recommended -Ready for a patient, loving family 🐾 CHATO’S VIDEO: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/QGK9bRU94nw For more information, contact volunteer Lor at lor@unitedhopeforanimals.org Photo Credit: Rafael Diaz United Hope for Animals (UHA) is a volunteer group and does not have a facility for animals. Story
I’ve had Winnie since late 2020 and he has been a joy in my house. He is 6 years old and very healthy. He loves being outside in the backyard, playing tug, fetch, chase, and overall he loves people very much. He knows some basic commands like sit, lie down, roll over, spin, touch, and leave it. Winnie is very energetic, enjoys being around people, and does okay with other dogs too. I do think that he prefers being with people though. I’m looking to rehome him because I am getting married and moving out of my parent's house and into an apartment. Winnie has always lived with a large backyard and I hope that his next home will have a backyard where he can freely run around. My wife also has 2 cats and the apartment only allows for 2 pets. Winnie is fun to be around and is very cuddly. I hope to find a great new home for him.
