Story
Handsome and happy Briggs is about 5 months old and ready for a home to call his very own! He loves to play with other pups and loves all the nice people that he meets. He'll be a fun addition to any loving home. This puppy Is spayed/neutered, up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, treated for all of the intestinal parasites, and current on flea/tick and heartworm preventative. Because intestinal parasites are cyclical, your puppy may need additional treatment once you get him/her home. This is common and nothing to be alarmed about. Puppies and dogs need to be treated periodically for parasites throughout their entire lives. The adoption fee is $550 if your adoption is prepaid prior to your pup's arrival. An additional $50 will be charged on puppies that are picked up from our Southbury CT adoption center, adopted at an event, or foster home. This additional fee is necessary in order to comply with CT HB 5368. WANT TO MEET OUR DOGS IN PERSON? Check the Events tab on cprdogs.com for all weekend adoption event info. The majority of the dogs marked as 'meet me' will be there to see you! More and more of our adopters are having fun with DNA tests on their pups. You might ask yourself why our breed guess is varying degrees of difference from the DNA tests. Most of our puppies are rescued from high kill shelters or other abandonment situations and we have no info on parents. When we rescue puppies that have no background info, we make our very best educated guess as to breed mix and age. Our guesstimate comes from years and years and years of animal welfare work and training, but our guesses won't always agree with your vet, your neighbor, your DNA test, etc. The most important thing to know about your puppy's breed mix is that most likely he/she is a Super Lovable Mutt made of many many many different breeds. If you are a MA resident, your new family member is required to go through a mandatory 48 hour quarantine period at the Woburn MA isolation facility. Your new family member will be dropped off by our transport on Thursday and will be ready for you to pick him/her up on Saturday between 11 am-1 pm. An additional $100 fee will be added for any dogs picked up from the Woburn MA quarantine facility. This additional fee is necessary in order to comply with MA Order 405-CD-12 and Order 1-AHO-05. TO APPLY PLEASE GO TO www.cprdogs.com. If your application was successfully submitted you will get an automatically generated confirmation email. Please DO NOT USE the ADOPTAPET "CONTACT THIS RESCUE GROUP" form below or you may not hear from us as these often end up in spam or bouncing back. After receipt of your application, an adoption counselor will then be in touch to answer your questions about this pup, discuss the adoption process and get the ball rolling! If you have not heard from one of our volunteers within 5 days of submitting your application, please email mollibo@gmail.com.

Story
Meet Meatball, an approximately 1.5 year old doxie/lab mix. He weighs around 30 lbs and is a very unique looking guy.  This pup is a man’s man (though he does like women too!). In his current foster home, he follows the man around the home with every step he takes. He rides well in the car. He is good with other dogs with proper intros (as most dogs are), but we think he would do best in a home without cats - he doesn’t particularly like cats, but doesn’t hurt them either. He’s not been tested around kids, but he’s a precious, friendly guy. He is medically up to date, housebroken, and crate trained. Apply to meet this meatball today! Click HERE for Adoption Application: pawsrescueleague.org/adopt Adoption fees vary based on the dog and are not negotiable. As a small rescue that does not receive government funding or grants, we rely on adoption fees to stay afloat. Adoption fees help cover the following: vaccinations, wellness exams, heartworm/4DX testing, parasite prevention, spay/neuter (age-appropriate), microchipping, transport expenses, and other rescue-related overhead/administrative costs. Paws Rescue League, Inc is an all-inclusive rescue that does NOT only rescue puppies and young, healthy dogs.  We make a point to also rescue seniors, dogs with special needs, moms, and other “less desirable” dogs, knowing that we will likely incur higher veterinary expenses and that these dogs may take longer to get adopted.  As such, an individual adoption fee is not only reimbursing PRL for expenses directly related to that dog, but it is also helping us to continue our mission of taking in dogs that would otherwise be too much of a financial burden to save. We believe that ALL dogs deserve a second chance. Thank you for your support and understanding! ##2376414##

Story
"LOVE HEALS" Reishi, a 1 year old neutered male Dachshund mix, has overcome incredible adversity to become the loving companion he is today. Rescued from a Tennessee hoarding case, Reishi's early life was marked by neglect, isolation, and overcrowding. Reishi's start in life was far from ideal. Reishi's fosters have witnessed remarkable growth, and he's now ready for a forever home where he'll continue to blossom as a loyal and loving friend. Reishi is truly a remarkable boy. Initially, he may require gentle interactions, avoiding sudden movements, and close proximity. However, once he's deemed you safe, Reishi's true personality shines: happy, goofy, and affectionate. Consistent training, and socialization will help Reishi build trust and confidence.  With his unique long legs, courtesy of his Min Pin mix heritage, Reishi loves to run. He thrives around other dogs and would do best in a home with a doggo sibling(s), Reishi loves being part of a pack! He loves outdoor adventures, walks, and playtime. Older kids (8+) who respect personal space are ideal, while Reishi's curiosity requires a cat-free home. This intelligent pup is always eager to learn and please. He is treat-motivated and responds well to positive reinforcement.  By adopting Reishi, you'll not only gain a loving companion, but you'll also provide this special boy a second chance at a happy life. Apply to meet him today!  Click HERE for Adoption Application: pawsrescueleague.org/adopt Adoption fees vary based on the dog and are not negotiable. &#226&#151&#143 Energy level: low-moderate &#226&#151&#143 Potty trained: needs assistance &#226&#151&#143 Fenced yard needed: no &#226&#151&#143 Shared walls ok: no &#226&#151&#143 People: all &#226&#151&#143 Dogs: friendly with small dogs &#226&#151&#143 Other: special needs with mobility and bladder expression   Overview Meet Printz, a sweet 6 year and 4 months old red smooth coat dachshund who's looking for a special family to cherish him. At 17.2 pounds, this loving boy proves that good things come in medium packages! Despite facing some mobility challenges, Printz maintains a wonderfully positive attitude and has a heart full of love to share.   Environment Printz is seeking a patient and nurturing home where someone can be present most of the time, as he gets a bit anxious when left alone. While he's currently on crate rest due to a back injury and needs help with mobility, he still enjoys the simple pleasures in life. He does well walking with assistance using a sling and is perfectly content in homes without a yard. He's well-behaved in his crate when his family needs to step out, but he can be vocal so shared walls are probably not a good idea. His reasonable energy needs and gentle nature make him an excellent companion.   Pets & People Printz is a very loving dog who thrives on human connection and wants nothing more than to be near his person. While initially shy, he quickly warms up to show his affectionate personality. He's a social butterfly with other small dogs and does very well in multi-dog households, but is untested with children or cats. He can be vocal around larger dogs, but this is likely due to his size and mobility situation. He's gentle when taking treats and very food-motivated, which makes him easy to bond with.    Health Printz has some special medical needs that require a dedicated family. He currently needs assistance with bladder and bowel expression due to his back injury. He can take trazodone as needed to help manage any discomfort or anxiety. His mobility requires some extra support, and he uses a sling to help him walk comfortably. These needs are manageable with the right care routine, and his sweet personality makes it all worthwhile.   Location Printz is available for adoption from Gastonia, NC. Due to his special needs, he would prefer a home within a reasonable driving distance, as he can find long car rides challenging. Please email autenlinda@yahoo.com with any questions or complete an adoption application at the button above. The adoption fee is $150.00  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 27, 2025, 9:53 am

Story
Please ensure you understand and can meet the needs of this dog before applying. &#226&#151&#143 Energy level: high &#226&#151&#143 Potty training: trained (when let out often) &#226&#151&#143 Fenced yard: needed &#226&#151&#143 Shared walls ok: yes (mostly quiet) &#226&#151&#143 People: adults preferred &#226&#151&#143 Dogs: can be an only dog &#226&#151&#143 Other: has some separation anxiety   Overview Meet Marcus, a cuddly 8-year-old red short-haired pup who's looking for his forever cuddle buddy!   Marcus is a sweet 14-pound gentleman who loves nothing more than curling up for a good snuggle. This little guy found himself at Little Paws through no fault of his own after his previous owner developed dementia. Now he's ready to bond with someone new and shower them with affection.   Environment Marcus has a mix of energy needs—he enjoys his daily walks (and he's great on a leash!) but also values his downtime. While he's fully potty trained when given regular outdoor access, he appreciates having a fenced yard to explore and do his business. Marcus will bark briefly to announce visitors but is otherwise mostly quiet, making him suitable for homes with shared walls.   He does experience some separation anxiety and prefers not to be left alone for extended periods. He'll use a crate when needed but it's not his favorite place to be. Marcus is looking for someone who can give him the time and attention he deserves.   Pets & People Marcus tends to bond quickly with one special person but gets along fine with other adults in the home. He hasn't been tested with children. He's done well in public settings like the vet's office and pet store.   As an only dog for most of his life, Marcus is still learning proper playtime manners and may try to establish himself by jumping, though he’s not aggressive. He's gentle with food and treats, making training a pleasant experience. For a bit of entertainment, watch for his occasional "zoomies" when playful energy strikes.   Location Marcus is available for adoption from Cumming, GA. Please email nadinedenise@att.net with any questions or complete an adoption application at the button above. The adoption fee for Marcus is $325.00.&#226&#128&#139&#226&#128&#139&#226&#128&#139&#226&#128&#139&#226&#128&#139&#226&#128&#139&#226&#128&#139&#226&#128&#139&#226&#128&#139&#226&#128&#139  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.May 2, 2025, 4:44 pm
