Story
Hawkeye is an adorable doxie mix that is handsome and sweet .  He is house trained, gets along very well with other dogs, cats, and kids; however, he does not get along with chickens and goats - so he must be a city dog.   He is house trained and walks very well on his leash.  Hawkeye is calm and playful and will make someone a wonderful companion, as long as they dont have livestock!!!!  ##2123459##

Story
10 year old super sweet senior. Looking for a quiet companion to hang out with. Enjoys car rides, lab sitting, long movies and snuggles. She enjoys her food and treats but due to age and breed, she will need to maintain a healthy weight, so no people snacks. Victoria has already lost 4 lbs with diet and walking around the yard. She has been placed on supplements to help her joints as extra weight is not good on old joints.  adoption fee $300 fully vetted: Victoria came to Rescue already spayed, She is now up to date on vaccines, microchipped and tested negative for heartworms. We started her on prevention, de wormed and flea control. Her senior bloodwork came back with elevated liver enzymes so we followed up with a test to rule out cushings. That test came back good allowing her to be cleared for a much needed dental. Victoria had 10 teeth extracted on her recent dental. Victoria has 2 lipoma (fatty masses) on her abdomen. There is no need to remove as long as they are not causing Victoria any discomfort. To fill out an application visit https://petstablished.com/adoption_form/33868/generic ##1999637##

Story
A LITTLE GUY WITH A BIG PERSONALITY:  Approx. 11 years old / Approx. 20 lbs. & needs to lose a few lbs.  Hi, I’m Abe!  I was adopted from Mostly Mutts 5 years ago and I sure loved my family, but they needed to help some other family members that were in need and unfortunately, the new members of the family were very allergic to me.  It broke my people’s hearts to return me, but they had to, and now they are hopeful that I’ll find a new family who will love me as much as they did! Perhaps you?  I needed a good dental cleaning which I have received thanks to a grant from The Grey Muzzle Organization! • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  My former family reported that I liked some dogs, but not all dogs, and that I’m slow to warm up to new dogs.  I’ve also met some dogs at MM and I showed some avoiding behavior but no aggression.  So, if you have a mellow kind of dog, let’s meet. / My family reported that I shouldn’t live with kitties. / My former family also reported that I would not want to live with kids.  Perhaps if you have older calm teens, we could meet.      • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  Since coming back to Mostly Mutts, I remember quite a few of the volunteers I knew and loved before and we’re good pals again.  In fact, I’m enjoying the attention and belly rubs I’m getting from the many nice volunteers.  My former family reported that I am slow to warm up to new people but that I’m the kind of dog who loves his family deeply!  I really enjoyed my photo shoot and the treats that came with it and the photographer said that I was a happy little guy! I was also friendly and playful with the assessment team, so yay me! /  Energy level: 4-6. • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I’m enrolled in the Mostly Mutts University training program and have mastered the ‘sit’, ‘down’, ‘stay’, ‘come’, ‘leave it’, ‘drop it’, and ‘go to your place’ commands as well as accepting nice strangers without jumping and waiting at doors before walking in/out. / My former family reported that I was crate trained and I’m doing well at MM too. / My potty manners have been good on the shelter schedule and my former family also reported that I was potty trained.      • LIKES/DISLIKES:  I love belly rubs and hanging out with my people!  Walks are also fun and can help me lose the few pounds that I need to lose so I can be at my healthiest weight. / I don’t think I’d like to be alone for an 8-hour workday, since in my former home, the most I was alone was 4 hours a day.  Since I can be slower to warm up to new people, I wouldn’t want strangers to approach me too fast – just give me a little time and let me come to you.  I’m thankful for the dental cleaning but was not a fan of going to the vet’s office.  • MEDICAL:  I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and neutered. I need to lose a few pounds, so please help me do that.  I just had a dental cleaning, and 1 tooth pulled, so my mouth is feeling good again! I am looking for a great family that will treasure me!  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga July 26, 2024, 11:37 am

Story
My name is Holden, but most often my foster family calls me "Mr. Handsome" or "Sweet Boy." I am both of those things, if I do say so myself. One thing you need to know about me is that I had a back problem so now I cannot use my rear legs. This is VERY common in dachshunds. However, it doesn't slow me down one bit. This gorgeous lover boy is a gentle soul with a bark that sounds like bubbles and he’s also a very talented squeaky toy musician. Sometimes foster ma has to confiscate it so she can work! Other than that he’s a quiet guy who loves to cuddle, take sun naps outside on the deck and beg for dinner like any other dog. I may not walk like other dogs do, but I sure do have a happy life and a happy attitude. My foster mom can teach you to take care of me, it's not difficult. It's not any more work than any other dog is, it's just a bit different. Here's what you get when you adopt me: bedroom eyes, soft long hair in a beautiful mahogany color, cuddles galore, and a constant companion. I am a very good and gentle boy! I don't bark very much, but when I do, my foster ma says I sound like I am underwater. I have no idea what that means, but I'll demonstrate when we meet. I need a home with lots of toys, snuggly blankets, and someone willing to deal with a little poop once in a while. My bladder needs to be expressed manually, but you just squeeze my tummy and out it comes. No biggie. Takes 20 seconds and it's super easy to learn. I love meeting new people, and I am very friendly to everyone i meet. DREAM has helped dogs of all capability levels and we believe this guy is really easy to care for. Resource material is available for you to order as well. One of the original board members wrote this extremely helpful book about day to day life with a "down dog".... Honey Have You Squeezed the Dachshund. If you are interested in adopting Holden, you can fill out an application right on our website! Go to our online adoption application. Holden 's adoption fee is $350.00. All adoption fees go directly to veterinary care for DREAM dachshunds. Holden will go to his new home microchipped, altered, heartworm tested, and up to date on vaccinations. Most dogs' veterinary expenses are greater than our adoption fees. DREAM is an all-volunteer rescue group. We focus on the metro Atlanta area and can assist throughout the state of Georgia. Because we are all volunteers, we can consider applications only within an hour of these areas. DREAM does not recommend purebred dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a doxie's back. Follow us on Instagram , Facebook and Twitter

Story
How delicious is a dapple? Vince is no exception to that hard and fast rule. This boy has personality in SPADES! He is such a cool little wiener dog with a curious way of seeing the world. His previous owners loved him but did not have the means to care for him properly when he suffered an IVDD back injury. Once he came into DREAM, we took Vance in right away to see our specialist vet, who performed surgery on three ruptured discs. Since then, he's gone through physical therapy and his foster mama is a pro at helping him through all of his stretches and exercises, and short of getting him a Pilates reformer, he's gotten the works for sure. While the surgery and therapy have helped him greatly, Vance does not have the ability to walk but that doesn’t stop him from getting around and playing with his foster brothers and sisters To help him get around, Vance has a new set of wheels and he absolutely loves rolling around exploring all the world has to offer. He also does well in a special bag that allows him to scoot around while protecting his legs and paws. Because of his physical limitations, Vance will need to be expressed to help him to go to the bathroom-both #1 & #2. This is very easy to learn, very clean and the great thing is when kept on a schedule of expressing, about 4 times a day and once right before bedtime, he’s house trained and can go most anywhere. He's a friendly little muppet who loves his people and has the gumption to thrive no matter his circumstances. It's impossible to be around him without smiling. DREAM has helped dogs of all capability levels and we believe this guy is really easy to care for. Resource material is available for you to order as well. Vance will go to his / her new home microchipped, spayed/neutered, heartworm tested, up to date on vaccinations, and with all other medical needs addressed. Almost every dog's veterinary expenses exceed our adoption fees; we are a non-profit. DREAM is an all-volunteer rescue group. We focus on the metro Atlanta area and can assist throughout the state of Georgia. Since our rescue is entirely run and staffed by volunteers, our ability to travel long distances for adoptions is somewhat limited.
