History: I am Lucille’s puppy and was born in rescue. Lucille is a beautiful and ultra sweet girl who was surrendered to rescue by a commercial breeding program and upon arriving to rescue we quickly learned she was expecting a litter of puppies. Her whelping process was not easy and we are so thankful for her foster family who stuck by their side. Her puppies struggled to thrive and were a bit slower to adapt to the “typical” puppy milestones but with the help of our veterinary team and their foster family, here we are today where this adorable family is now officially ready to start their journeys in finding forever homes of their own!

History: Limo is a super sweet boy who arrived to rescue in desperate need of a second chance. He is such a handsome and striking boy who is ready to meet his forever home soon! A Note from the Foster: Hi! I’m Limo, a sweet little dachshund with a big heart and an even bigger love for squeaky toys. I’m still learning the world, so carrying a toy around helps me feel confident — and it’s really cute, I’ve been told. I’m learning that humans are safe and cuddles are good. I get a little nervous with being picked up or petted, so I prefer if you move slowly with me and give me time to trust. But I will take treats right from your hand, sit with you on the couch, and I’m very food-motivated — which means training with me can be both fun and rewarding. I have a low-key energy level and relax a lot of the time. I can keep up on walks with my doggy foster brother, but afterward I’m ready to nap and recharge. Most of the time you’ll find me curled up on the couch or in a dog bed, as long as I’m close to someone. I really love being near my people and doggy friends; I’d prefer a home where someone is around a good amount because being alone can feel a little scary for me right now. I keep my crate clean and dry and sleep in there at night (even though, in typical dachshund fashion, I think crates are kinda silly sometimes). I go potty outside most of the time and my foster mama says I’m super smart and will catch onto full potty training quickly with patience and routine. On walks, I was unsure about the leash at first, but I’m getting better every day when following another dog’s lead. Having another dog around makes me brave, so I would love a home with a friendly dog buddy to show me the ropes. Overall, I’m hoping for a patient family, a calm home, and maybe a confident pup friend to help me continue learning. As a typical doxie, I have a little voice and may alert bark here and there, but nothing too crazy. I’m a gentle soul, learning more every day, and hoping to find a family that sees the magic in a dog who’s still discovering the world. If you’ve got a loving home, a soft voice, and maybe a dog friend to guide me… I think we could be something really special. Love, Limo 🐾

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. // Find our applications at www.midwestanimalrescue.orgAdoption Fee $400 plus taxWalter is a goofy and cuddly guy who wants to be near his people. He loves laying in the sun, going on walks, treats & toys and being under the covers. Walter needs a fully fenced yard as he can be quite the escape artist. He likes to run for short bursts in the yard and find smells to roll in. Walter gets along with his two resident dogs, but is still learning polite greetings with new dogs. Walter is very curious, and needs someone who can be patient and reassure him. He is still working on leash training and is currently demonstrating some reactivity with other dogs. Based on the fosters observations we beleive that Walter may be hard of hearing. Walter is left home with the resident dogs for a few hours at a time. He is known to be a snoop and counter surfer, so he is put in a room with our resident dog. He will settle when left with a doggy friend. Walter picks up on patterns and routines quickly. He is not a quiet boy and will express his needs. At this time, we do not how Walter does with kids or cats. Walter tends to be curious, cautious and skittish around new animals and meeting people outside the home. Currently we are working on basic obedience and leash etiquette. Walter seems to have some reduced hearing and vision. We suspect it's genetic/congenital. He does not seem to be in any pain from it and we are working with MARS Vet to keep tabs on it. We accept Credit cards, Debit cards as well as cash. At this time we do not accept checks. Located in Tennessee but can be transported to you through Rescue Riders. This girl was brought in with babies when her owner couldn't take care of her. She was not socialized very well so will need some work. She will need a very patient person to get her to come out of her shell. She was kept outside so she has no house manners, nor has she been with cats. She does do well with dogs her size and seems to like to play with them. She deserves a new chance to be a loved dog and companion. She will take a lot of time and investment but deserves a chance!
