We know senior bonded pairs are often overlooked, but we would truly hate to separate these two best friends. Both are in good health and have so much love left to give. This purebred chocolate long-haired boy is named Rexx and he would like very much to come to NJ to find a new home. Rex is 3 years old and weighs about 13 pounds. Rexx is very loving but he can be a hog about not sharing with other dogs in the house. He is learning that he can't be King of the Castle all of the time though. He lives with lots of dogs & is good with them - he is also a very smart boy! Rexx does have some separation anxiety so he would not do well in attached housing. If there is not another dog in his new home then he'd do well with someone who is home most of the time. Rexx would do best in an adult-only household but may be fine with young adults over 15 years old who can respect his space. He is neutered, heartworm negative and has received a Proheart6 preventative injection, up to date on shots and is now looking for a loving home. His adoption fee is 900.00 and his transport fee is 135.00. HEARTS is our transport, they run every 2 weeks. It's the best transport and the only one we will use. PROSPECT PETE: Tiny Dog. Massive Feelings. Absolutely No Men. Prospect Pete is a 5-year-old miniature Dachshund who was found wandering the streets of Louisiana looking like life had thoroughly kicked his little wiener-dog ass. When NorthStar took him in, Pete was skinny, covered in hair loss, had double ear infections, needed a dental, had a growth on his chest, and frankly looked like he’d been through several terrible life choices and at least one bad relationship. The good news? His body is healing. The bad news? Pete has apparently decided that men are canceled. We can’t know exactly what happened to him during his first five years, but we’re pretty certain a man failed this little guy in a big way. Pete would very much like to file for a lifetime restraining order against the male gender and is currently accepting applications from women only. His ideal home consists of: â Women. â More women. â Another friendly dog. â Snacks. â Soft voices. â Someone who is home a lot. â Absolutely no dudes trying to “win him over.” Pete doesn’t bite men.
