Franklin is awesome. Dachshund mix. He turned 10 years old in January but he's still very youthful and healthy. He is great with everyone, fully housebroken, crate trained, good on leash, good off leash. He likes to swim and open presents. He loves playing fetch. Minimal barking (only when someone knocks on the door). He's pretty much the perfect dog. It kills me to have to find him a new home, but we had a baby and not only do we have way less time for Franklin, he's trying to get attention by destroying the baby's books and toys every chance he gets (this was never a problem before the baby). So he's been either on a cable outside or locked in a crate all day, which I don't want to keep doing to him. I want him to go somewhere where he can be out of his crate and gets the love and attention he deserves. Thank you for reading.

Please consider providing a home for more than one dog, especially if you are considering adopting a puppy. Dogs are pack animals and very much enjoy as well as need other dog company to learn to play, socialize and be good companion animals to people. The upside to this is that you won't feel as guilty leaving them alone and you get twice the love. Please come! And if you can't adopt, maybe you can foster or volunteer, and you can always donate! Meet Lola! This very sweet and spunky girl is very skittish and distrustful with new people, but has really blossomed in her foster home. We believe she is a Chihuahua/Dachshund mix and has many personality traits that we think will appeal to the Chihuahua people out there. This girl is not only beautiful, but is also housebroken, crate trained and knows several commands. She'd also be perfect for those hot summer months and cold winter months, since though she loves to be outside, she's not super fond of lengthy walks. Once she chooses her person and bonds she's silly, playful, cuddly and loyal, the perfect work from home companion who loves to sit on your lap and help with whatever you are doing. She's not a fan of other animals, children, or strangers especially men although she's been able to make friends with them if they ignore her at first and offer lots of yummy treats- intros have to be slow and on her terms. Located in Tennessee but can be transported to you through Rescue Riders. This girl was brought in with babies when her owner couldn't take care of her. She was not socialized very well so will need some work. She will need a very patient person to get her to come out of her shell. She was kept outside so she has no house manners, nor has she been with cats. She does do well with dogs her size and seems to like to play with them. She deserves a new chance to be a loved dog and companion. She will take a lot of time and investment but deserves a chance!
