Story
Jax is a really good boy, he was born April 1, 2025 so he’s 8 months. He has a lot of energy and I highly recommend a home with another pet that enjoys playtime. If Jax doesn’t get enough playtime he tends to destroy his toys. Jax currently lives with a senior chihuahua and unfortunately my chihuahua has not come around, it’s been 6 months and he hasn’t warmed up to Jax. Jax is nothing but playful, he has never bitten my chihuahua, he’s actually submissive to him. I just want Jax to be in a home where he can have a buddy who plays with him.

Meet Amaya, the sweetest, most lovable tripod you’ll ever meet! This beautiful black-coated retriever mix has a heart every bit as big as her adorable smile. Amaya came to us after overcoming a tough start, and one of her back legs had to be removed to give her the comfortable, pain-free life she deserves. Now healed and thriving, Amaya has fully embraced her tripod superpowers! Her three-legged strut is absolutely adorable, and she navigates the world with a happy-go-lucky spirit that inspires everyone who meets her. She loves zooming around the yard, hopping up for cuddles, and showing off just how unstoppable she truly is. Amaya is also a world-class snuggler and adores being close to her people. Whether she’s cuddled at your side, giving endless kisses, or soaking up every bit of affection she can, she’s happiest when she’s loved and she gives that love right back tenfold. Now that she’s strong, joyful, and ready for her next chapter, Amaya is looking for a family to call her own. If you’re searching for a resilient, affectionate companion with a personality as bright as her beautiful black coat, Amaya is your girl. Come meet her and fall in love with this incredible tripod sweetheart! Local adoption fee is $250(in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $550 (includes transport to your area)

Story
Meet Tex – Your Loyal Little Lookout! 🐾 Tex is an approximately 2-year-old Dachshund/Chihuahua mix (or at least that’s our best guess), and he’s the perfect blend of small size and big heart. This sweet boy came to us from a rural shelter where he was very shut down and scared. Since arriving in his foster home, Tex has truly blossomed into a much more relaxed and confident pup. Now that he knows he’s safe, Tex enjoys the comforts of home life: lounging around, following his humans, and hanging out with the other dogs in the house. He’s also curious about the cats, though if they dart off too quickly, he might give a bark or two to let them know he noticed. Tex is an excellent little alert dog who takes his job seriously. If something unusual is happening around the property or if a sneaky squirrel dares to raid the bird feeder, Tex will sound the alarm. He’s got a great nose for mischief and will keep your porch squirrel-free. Tex would thrive in a calm, low-activity home where he can build a strong bond with his adopter. Once he knows he’s safe and loved, he’ll likely become your loyal little shadow. Tex is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on all vaccines and preventions. Please note: Tex is only eligible for local adoption in the San Antonio area at this time. It took him several months to fully warm up in his foster home, and we are hoping to find an adopter nearby. If any issues arise, we want to ensure we can easily bring him back into our care. If you are in the San Antonio area and looking for a sweet and loyal companion, Tex might just be the perfect fit. Go ahead and submit an adoption application for him now! $200 Local Adoption Fee

If you are interested in meeting me, please fill out the application at www.woodscreekrescue.com. Fill out an application 2. Once the application is approved, you will be called or emailed about setting up a day and time to meet me. 3. After a "Meet and Greet" then a decision for both the rescue and you will determine if this is a good match. Story
Frito lives for love, a true companion that has an endless supply of cuddles and affection for you. Frito is an adventurer at heart, but his favorite pastime is lying next to you or on your lap if you’ll allow it. Bonus, his love is not exclusive to his owner; he shows the same affection to all humans. Frito is always ready for play, a run, a walk around the neighborhood otlr through the woods, or a hike, and he will fearlessly follow you on any adventure. He has big energy compressed into a pocket sized body. He’s just a silly little meatball. He is great on a leash when you’ve got his attention, and behaves himself when passing other dogs and people. Frito has great recall in the house and outside. He is crate trained and potty trained. Frito has been left behind in his past and as a result he has quite a bit of separation anxiety. He displays this anxiety by whining and crying. As he learns to trust he does quiet down, but he would not be best suited for apartment living as neighbor noises will surely m lake him think he's being ignored and they'll be able to hear him. When you get home Frito is the happiest boy, jumping and running around, he explodes with excitement. Frito will need time and dedication to completely correct his overly excited behavior. Frito would do best in a home that is committed to his training him to be the best boy he can be. Frito LOVES kids - like extra loves kids. He is good with cats but does like to try to play so an understanding cat would be ideal, or the cat having a place to have some peace. Frito is good with dogs of all sizes, though his energy could be a lot for some, so a tolerant friend, and slow introductions would be best. Are you ready for endless cuddles and entertainment? Are you a strong leader looking for a lovable, active, pocked-sized sidekick? Then Frito is just the pup for you!

Story
This is Toby Toblerone the teenie weenie! This gorgeous boy is about 2 years old, only 12 pounds, and we think he may be a Dachshund/Chihuahua mix, but with rescue, it's always a guess! Either way, he’s a pocket pup, and everything about him is so cute. I just wanna put him in my purse and take him straight home with me! Yes, it's a silly name, but this Toby is one distinguished gentleman. He may be low to the ground, but this sweet boy rates sky high on the lovability scale! We adore his expressive eyes - we think it's the eyebrows that he uses to full effect - and this boy can get extra treats from us by tilting his head just so. (Who can resist an inquisitive head tilt? Not us!) And we simply cannot get over his lowrider status - his short legs are adorable. See Toby for yourself right here! https://youtu.be/JGtsCZb9jtA?si=PZZTKqKWV5YkIrYO Sweet Toby can be shy at first in new places with new people, but don't let that fool you. He is quite the social butterfly and likes to meet new people, ever curious about what is going on....just...over...there. Toby will investigate his surroundings and choose the best place to sit (your lap), or if he must, a soft and fluffy dog bed. In his foster home, you can often find him nuzzled between your legs in the recliner while you watch the evening news. Loving Toby comes naturally, and you just can’t help but fall head over heels for those sweet soft eyes and gorgeous brown spots. Toby loves to be outdoors and does well on a leash, but we can tell he would just love a nice backyard to run free. (Bonus: his legs are short, so the yard doesn't have to be that big, lol.) Toby is a doggy daycare/ boarding superstar, and he has sooooo many friends. Let’s face it, he likes guys his size, but we could see Toby being friends with anyone. He would absolutely love another sibling in his new home, but he wouldn’t complain about being the one and only superstar in your life either. We love Toby’s happy and joyful attitude and know you will too! Application link: https://adopt.animalsfirst.com/animal/62cc8e128b02916730334440/67b6064903f12854b607826d Questions? The adoption fee is $1200 and includes all vetting (DAPP with booster, Bordetella, Rabies vaccine, multiple broad spectrum deworming treatments, spay/neuter, flea prevention, a 12 month heartworm preventative injectible, heartworm test and treatment if needed, a microchip with free lifetime registration, a high quality nylon Martingale collar, a health certificate deeming the pup healthy for travel, cost of transport*, and priceless years of love and loyal companionship! We have over 15,000 successful adoptions so far and have excellent Google Reviews: https://g.co/kgs/UQ5Pyai We care deeply about making the perfect match between dog and family for long term success. Our rescue has a 2 acre property in Texas where we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group trainings and socialization play groups to keep dogs adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers support the positive growth of our dogs and we enjoy seeing their progress! Our commitment to comprehensive medical care sets us apart. We've received glowing feedback from veterinarians who commend our dedication to ensuring the health and well-being of every animal in our care with treatments that often go above and beyond. Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet. The rescue’s hard costs alone (excluding transport) for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,368. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the adoption fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. Transport is a significant additional expense to the rescue. While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that the rescue does not receive government funding and must fundraise to offset the remaining expense balance which ranges $100-1,000++ per animal on these direct costs. It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these SPECIAL PERKS: Extensive behavioral testing and information from trainers on our staff to ensure the perfect fit for your family Discounts on Embark DNA test kit- $30 off of Breed ID test & $50 off of Breed ID plus Health test 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion A free private online dog training session with GoodPup, plus low pricing for future sessions 70% off of your first order of Fetch, a delicious PNW based fresh dog meatballs subscription Coupons for a fun visit to Petco 20% off of Dr. Cuddles pet first aid and hygiene solutions Discounted heartworm, flea prevention, and monthly dewormer Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup! Did you know that the Greater Houston area faces some of the highest stray and overpopulation rates in the nation? We are a non profit charity. Our goal is simple— to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and by rescuing animals from the streets or overcrowded shelters where euthanasia due to lack of space is often the only option. The dog you've found online is not only lucky to be in our program, but also incredibly fortunate to have caught your eye. Thank you for considering adoption and for joining us in our mission!
