If you are interested in meeting me, please fill out the application at www.woodscreekrescue.com. Filling out the application is not a commitment to an adoption and needs to be done prior to any further questions you might have or information you are seeking. Our Process is the following: 1. Fill out an application 2. Once the application is approved, you will be called or emailed about setting up a day and time to meet me. 3. After a "Meet and Greet" then a decision for both the rescue and you will determine if this is a good match. After this is determined, we will schedule a home check which can be the day of adoption depending on how things go. Want to see more of me? Check us out on Instagram, Facebook, or TikTok. Story
Hi there, I’m Woody—the older, wiser half of this dynamic duo. I’m a 9-year-old dachshund mix with a little grey on my face (I prefer “distinguished”), about 20 pounds, and I come with one very important feature… my best friend, Wally. Wherever I go, he goes too. We’ve always been together, and that’s exactly how we plan to keep it. I’m a laid-back guy who loves the simple things—soft beds, cozy laps, and a good nap (you might hear me snoring… I take my sleep seriously). During the day, Wally and I split our time between inside and outside using our dog door, and when we’re out in the yard, you’ll usually find us chasing each other in our famous figure-eight pattern. It’s kind of our thing. I’m house trained, leash trained, and I do just fine around other dogs. On walks, I can get a little enthusiastic and like to pull—I just get excited to explore! Car rides are okay too, especially with a little help to relax. At home, I’ll let you know if something’s happening—doorbell, squirrel, strange noise—you name it. I’ve got opinions! But give me a few minutes and I’ll be right back to being your sweet, snuggly sidekick. I’m affectionate, adventurous, and very food motivated (treats go a long way with me). I love people… but I do best in an adult-only home. Kids make me nervous, and I’d really prefer a calm, predictable environment where I can feel safe and relaxed. At the end of the day, I’m happiest curled up on your lap or tucked into my bed on the couch where I can keep an eye on everything. As long as I’ve got Wally by my side and a human to love, I’m a pretty happy guy.

Story
Hi! I’m Wally, a 7-year-old dachshund mix, about 20 pounds, and the slightly more charming half of this bonded pair (don’t tell Woody I said that). I come with a built-in best friend—Woody—and we’re looking for a home where we can stay together. He’s been my buddy forever, and life just wouldn’t be the same without him. I’m the kind of dog who loves to be near my people. Lap? Yes please. Couch? Even better if my bed is on it so I can supervise everything. I’m affectionate, snuggly, and if you ask nicely… I might even give you my signature smile (that is me smiling in my profile picture!). Woody and I love to play outside, especially racing around the yard together in our figure-eight zoomies. We also enjoy walks—walking nicely on leash is kind of my thing—and we’re both great with other dogs. We’ve had visitors and always get along just fine. I’m house trained, comfortable using a dog door, and I settle in nicely at home. Like Woody, I’ll bark when something catches my attention (doorbells are very suspicious), but I warm up quickly and am happy to make new friends once I know everything’s okay. Car rides are no problem for me, especially if I get a little help to relax. Mostly, I’m just happy to be wherever you are. I do need a home without children. Kids make both of us nervous, and we’d really thrive in a quieter, adult home where we can feel safe and just be ourselves. I’m sweet, food motivated, a little independent at times, but always ready for a cuddle. As long as I’ve got Woody and a cozy spot next to you, I’ve got everything I need.

Story
Hi there, my name is Cody, and I’m a 12-year-old Dachshund/Chihuahua mix weighing about 13 pounds. I may be a senior gentleman, but I’ve still got plenty of personality and a lot of love to give the right person. I spend most of my day relaxing inside the house where I can wander around freely and keep an eye on things. I sleep on my own cozy bed in my human’s bedroom. I’m house trained, leash trained, and I walk nicely on a loose leash—though I might bark or lunge a little when I see new people or dogs. Once I get to know someone, I warm up just fine. I just prefer to take introductions at my own pace. My favorite thing in the whole world is going for walks. I get excited to explore and sniff around the neighborhood. After a good walk, I’m happy to come home, nap, and enjoy a calm, peaceful day. I also enjoy spending time near my person—I’m a loyal little companion. I’m friendly or politely aloof with other dogs, but I do enjoy chasing cats, so a cat-free home would probably be best. My perfect home would be quiet, calm, and child-free, with someone who enjoys daily walks and doesn’t mind a loyal little shadow nearby. If you’re looking for a sweet senior who appreciates the simple things—walks, naps, and companionship—I might just be your guy.

Story
From the very first moment I met Sissy Girl, the first thing that came to my mind was how friendly she is! She is the definition of a social butterfly and can easily be deemed your personal cheerleader who will always have you smiling and will always brighten your day. She is incredibly dog friendly, smart, petite, and will check off all your boxes! Watch her video and fall in love with her personality: https://youtu.be/O3y2OtrdK_Y?si=VZfIs2rw2oGeH7ab Sissy Girl is believed to be a Dachshund mix approximately 2 years old and currently weighs 39 lbs. With rescue dogs, it’s always a bit of a mystery and we can’t guarantee breed, but we’d confidently say she got the best of everything. The ears, the legs, the tail, and the happy personality to match. She’s the definition of fun-sized. So don’t let her pictures fool you. She’s a short gal and the perfect in-between size. Not too big, not too small… just right! It's a given this bundle of joy is absolutely adorable and such a happy gal, but she is so much more than that. She loves every person she meets, she knows no stranger! Connections with her are instantaneous. When people first meet her, they instantly comment on how adorable and friendly she is! The most common phrase used by everyone who meets her is something along the lines of how sweet and friendly she is. Sissy is such a go-with-the-flow type of girly who is happy regardless of where she is or who she is with. It's almost impossible not to immediately fall for her friendly and goofy personality. Sissy is very dog friendly and loves to make friends with other dogs. She has been around dogs with all different temperaments, from large dominant males to submissive quiet ladies and playful party pups. Sissy loves making new friends and has the best time romping around, playing chase, sharing toys, and also relaxing with her pals. Sissy would do great in a home with another dog that enjoys the company of other dogs, likes to engage in lighthearted games of chase, and wants a pal to explore with. Sissy even did great with a dog smaller than her and it was like prince charming had walked into the room. Watching her try to get him to love her was the cutest thing. You’ll see exactly what we are talking about in her video if you haven’t watched it already. It’s the best! Sissy also met our house cat Biggie and met him appropriately and was very respectful around him. She did not chase Biggie, nor was she bothered by Biggie jumping or doing what cats do. Biggie also felt comfortable around her as well. We do not know if she has ever lived in a home before with a cat, and this was our first time seeing her with one. If you have a cat in the home, we can arrange for her to have a sleepover with a cat upon request. Just let us know! When it comes to training, Sissy loves treats and will do anything for a tasty snack! She already knows how to sit and does it on command, walks well on a leash, and is crate and potty trained too. She will be a great dog to take with you on walks at the park, or even potential trips to the beach. Her ideal home would have a backyard where she can zoom around, play with her toys, and sunbathe during those nice summer days. She also has the potential to thrive in an apartment or condo. She loves people and is a social butterfly, so if you're someone who likes to host or have friends over for backyard BBQs, Sissy will be right there in the midst of all the entertainment. I'm sure she will be one of the main talking points in all your conversations as well. Sissy has such a well-balanced personality. She’s happy, silly, adventurous, and cuddly all at once. She loves toys (especially stuffy toys), and is great at entertaining herself when needed. She would be a wonderful fit for a semi-active family, but she’s also calm enough to be a great companion for someone who works from home. She’s just as happy going on a mini adventure as she is relaxing by your side afterward. Sissy would also make a wonderful companion for a family with kids! She has been around kids and absolutely adores them. So get ready to hear those big belly laugh from your children because Sissy will have them laughing none stop. We are willing to test Sissy Girl with anything you need in order to ensure it's a perfect match. We can make anything happen! Just let us know. Ready to welcome a new furry friend into your life? Story
**Now fostered in Seattle, WA** Tuck – 9 Years Young | Dachshund Mix | Little Legs, Big Heart Tuck may be estimated at 9 years old, but don’t let the touch of gray and his love of snuggles fool you — this boy still has plenty of pep in his step! Tuck is happiest wherever you are. If that’s a cozy night at home, he’s curled up beside you. If it’s a Super Bowl party? He recently attended his very first one and proudly celebrated a Seahawks win. He’s equal parts cuddle bug and social companion. He’s currently fostered with other dogs and cats and does wonderfully with both. In fact, Tuck would truly love another dog in his forever home to be his buddy. He enjoys playing fetch, zooming around with his foster dog siblings, and taking his daily mile-long walk. That’s right — short legs and all! He loves to stop and sniff, but once he sees the other pups trotting ahead, he buckles down and keeps pace. His foster mom cannot say enough good things about him. Friends and family adore him for his polite, well-mannered personality. He is fully potty trained and crate trained… though if given the choice, he would much rather sleep snuggled up with his person. When Tuck first arrived in the Pacific Northwest, he experienced a little separation anxiety. With time, patience, and reassurance, he has settled in beautifully. While he’ll always prefer to be by your side, he now does just fine when left home alone. Tuck will need a single-family home (no apartments or townhomes). He takes his neighborhood watch duties seriously and can get excited about outside noises. He especially feels it’s important to alert everyone when his foster mom pulls into the driveway — very thoughtful of him, really. Beyond his playful and loyal nature, Tuck is also a sensitive, intuitive soul. After his foster family recently lost one of their cats, Tuck barely left his foster mom’s side. He knew she needed comfort, and he was right there for her. Tuck would be a wonderful match for: A first-time dog owner A semi-active couple or individual A family with older, respectful kids who match his chill vibe A home with another friendly dog If you’re looking for a devoted companion who will go on walks, play a little fetch, attend your gatherings, and then curl up beside you at the end of the day — Tuck is your guy.
