Story
Chaplin is a delightful double dapple (double merle) mini dachshund. She was a stray languishing in the Hondo shelter before pulled by God’s Dogs Rescue. Chaplin got her name because of the distinctive little “mustache” ( ) on her upper lip. Despite her diminutive size (11.4#), she is 100% dachshund! She loves to play, to chase, and to burrow. No pile of unfolded laundry is safe! Finding her in the clothes pile becomes akin to a “Where’s Waldo” puzzle. Given her coloring pattern, she is hard of hearing. She has minimal hearing in her L ear only. Chaplin is ready for her forever home that will adore her for the treasure that she is. Attributes: Loves children Special needs - hard of hearing Local adoption fee is $200(in TX)Out of state adoption fee is $450 (includes transport to your area)

Story
Freddy is a high-energy, happy-go-lucky boy who is great with dogs and kids! He loves to do big zoomies in a circle, then race right back to you for cuddles. After a long day of playing fetch—where he happily chases the ball, even if he doesn’t always bring it back—Freddy is more than ready to snuggle in. If you’re on the couch, expect him to curl right into your back and soak up the love. Freddy is a joyful, affectionate boy who is absolutely ready to find his forever home. If you want it shorter or extra playful, I can tweak the tone too Local adoption fee is $200(in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $450 (includes transport to your area)

If you are interested in meeting me, please fill out the application at www.woodscreekrescue.com. Filling out the application is not a commitment to an adoption and needs to be done prior to any further questions you might have or information you are seeking. Our Process is the following: 1. Fill out an application 2. Once the application is approved, you will be called or emailed about setting up a day and time to meet me. 3. After a "Meet and Greet" then a decision for both the rescue and you will determine if this is a good match. After this is determined, we will schedule a home check which can be the day of adoption depending on how things go. Want to see more of me? Check us out on Instagram, Facebook, or TikTok. Story
**Now fostered in Seattle, WA** Tuck – 9 Years Young | Dachshund Mix | Little Legs, Big Heart Tuck may be estimated at 9 years old, but don’t let the touch of gray and his love of snuggles fool you — this boy still has plenty of pep in his step! Tuck is happiest wherever you are. If that’s a cozy night at home, he’s curled up beside you. If it’s a Super Bowl party? He recently attended his very first one and proudly celebrated a Seahawks win. He’s equal parts cuddle bug and social companion. He’s currently fostered with other dogs and cats and does wonderfully with both. In fact, Tuck would truly love another dog in his forever home to be his buddy. He enjoys playing fetch, zooming around with his foster dog siblings, and taking his daily mile-long walk. That’s right — short legs and all! He loves to stop and sniff, but once he sees the other pups trotting ahead, he buckles down and keeps pace. His foster mom cannot say enough good things about him. Friends and family adore him for his polite, well-mannered personality. He is fully potty trained and crate trained… though if given the choice, he would much rather sleep snuggled up with his person. When Tuck first arrived in the Pacific Northwest, he experienced a little separation anxiety. With time, patience, and reassurance, he has settled in beautifully. While he’ll always prefer to be by your side, he now does just fine when left home alone. Tuck will need a single-family home (no apartments or townhomes). He takes his neighborhood watch duties seriously and can get excited about outside noises. He especially feels it’s important to alert everyone when his foster mom pulls into the driveway — very thoughtful of him, really. Beyond his playful and loyal nature, Tuck is also a sensitive, intuitive soul. After his foster family recently lost one of their cats, Tuck barely left his foster mom’s side. He knew she needed comfort, and he was right there for her. Tuck would be a wonderful match for: A first-time dog owner A semi-active couple or individual A family with older, respectful kids who match his chill vibe A home with another friendly dog If you’re looking for a devoted companion who will go on walks, play a little fetch, attend your gatherings, and then curl up beside you at the end of the day — Tuck is your guy. We've received glowing feedback from veterinarians who commend our dedication to ensuring the health and well-being of every animal in our care with treatments that often go above and beyond.   Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet.    The rescue’s hard costs alone (excluding transport) for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,368. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the adoption fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. Transport is a significant additional expense to the rescue.  While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that the rescue does not receive government funding and must fundraise to offset the remaining expense balance which ranges $100-1,000++ per animal on these direct costs.   It doesn’t stop there! Story
Floyd is a four-year-old sweetheart who might be a Dachshund–Chihuahua mix—no one knows for sure, but we do know he’s 100% love. With his adorable floppy “Chihuahua-style” ears and his gentle, happy demeanor, he wins hearts everywhere he goes. This affectionate little guy is full of kisses, cuddles, and charm. He loves hopping onto the couch, rolling over for belly rubs, and staying close to his people. In his foster home, Floyd lives with both small and large dogs and gets along beautifully with everyone—he’s even polite enough to share food with his canine friends. Floyd is potty trained, crate trained, and ready to fit perfectly into a new home. Whether you’re a family looking for a friendly companion or a single person wanting a devoted best friend, Floyd is the kind of dog who will bring joy, affection, and loyalty every day. If you’re looking for a loving, easygoing companion to brighten your life, Floyd is waiting to meet you.
