Story
Annie is a very good lap dog, but also likes to explore a yard. She is over weight and cannot clean herself.I have had her around all 7 of my grandkids, our 2 cats and 3 other dogs and she behaved amazingly! I love her so much, but I can no longer care for her.She was my husband's dog. He passed away recently along with our 'alpha' dog and then we lost our home.I can no longer care for her or give her the attention she needs.

Story
Duke is the life of the party and the definition of a happy, playful puppy. This little guy has so much personality packed into his tiny body, and he uses every bit of it to make sure everyone around him is smiling. He’s always on the move, always ready to play, and always looking for his next bit of fun. Duke has that goofy, lovable energy that makes him impossible not to adore. He’ll bounce around with his siblings, zoom across the room, and then suddenly stop to look at you like, “Did you see that?!”—he’s truly a character. Watch his YouTube video now https://youtu.be/jooUMvEZY6I?si=F7fPQIw7m0ey7kSO And let’s talk about his true love in life: treats. Duke is completely, unapologetically obsessed. If you have snacks, you instantly become his favorite person. He’ll try his very best to impress you with his puppy charm, and honestly… it works every time. This also makes him incredibly eager to learn and easy to train as he grows. At just around four months old, Duke is still a baby with a big world ahead of him. He’s curious, friendly, and loves being part of the action. He enjoys being around people and would thrive in a home where he can get lots of attention, playtime, and, of course, the occasional treat. Duke is the kind of puppy who will keep you laughing, keep you moving, and keep your heart full. If you’re looking for a fun-loving, happy companion, Duke is ready to be your best buddy. https://adopt.animalsfirst.com/animal/62cc8e128b02916730334440/69bd8a4ca30bd0bdeb0f604e Questions? Story
Meet Darrell! This tiny, ridiculously handsome little guy is about a year old and we believe he may be a Dachshund/chihuahua mix. With his short legs, speckled paws, expressive eyebrows, and permanent "I know something you don't know" grin, Darrell looks like he walked straight out of a cartoon. At first glance, Darrell can come across as a tough guy. In reality, he's more like a tiny security guard who takes his job a little too seriously. His job? Making sure his favorite people are safe and properly loved. Watch Darrell in action in his video! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vTR5fmcZ9EM Once Darrell decides you're one of his people, you're in. He absolutely adores his trusted humans and turns into a total cuddle bug. He's perfectly lap-sized, loves curling up next to his family, and thinks car rides are one of the greatest inventions of all time. If you're headed somewhere, Darrell would like to come too. He also loves having a routine. His crate is his cozy little bedroom, and he happily trots right inside when it's time to relax. Predictability helps him feel safe, and he's the kind of dog who thrives when he knows what to expect. Darrell currently lives with dogs and cats and does very well with both. He's generally pretty aloof with other dogs, preferring to mind his own business rather than get involved in puppy politics. He gets along well with dogs who respect personal space and don't constantly pester him. He also lives with cats and has learned that after one firm feline correction, it's best to mind your own business. Smart guy. Now for the important part: Darrell is not a dog who enjoys strangers getting in his face or handling him before trust has been built. He can absolutely be mouthy when he's uncomfortable and may snap or bite if his boundaries are ignored. He's not being mean—he's just very clear about his feelings and expects people to listen. Because of this, Darrell needs an adopter who understands dog body language and respects that relationships take time. Darrell thrives on routine and predictability. He loves his crate, enjoys knowing what's coming next, and settles beautifully into home life. His foster reports that he has experienced occasional seizures throughout his life, but they have been rare and have never stopped him from being a happy, adventurous little dog. Car rides, lap time, snacks, and spending time with his favorite people are still at the top of his priority list. Because of his medical history and his preference for limited stranger handling, Darrell will be adopted as-is. Future adopters should be comfortable monitoring his health alongside their veterinarian, but overall he continues to enjoy a fantastic quality of life and spends his days doing what he does best: being an adorable little sidekick. The good news? Once he trusts you, he's incredibly loving, loyal, and affectionate. The bond he forms with his people is something special. He's not looking for a hundred friends. He's looking for his family. His ideal home would be a quieter household with older children or adults who appreciate a dog with a little sass and a lot of personality. No apartments for this guy—he can be a bit chatty when he has opinions, and Darrell definitely has opinions. Darrell is the canine version of that grumpy old man who secretly has a heart of gold. He's funny, loyal, adorable, and full of character. He won't love everyone, but if he chooses you, you'll have one of the most devoted little sidekicks around. And honestly? That's kind of what makes him so special. 🖤🐾✨ Ready to welcome a new furry friend into your life? Story
Meet Chromia! Chromia's an affectionate, sweet, and playful chiweenie that's ready to find her forever home now that her puppies are leaving the nest. She's about 15 lbs and just a year old, and has the softest velvety coat. She is a pro at winning you over with endearing eyes and those little forehead wrinkles.  Chromia is silly, spunky, and very sweet. She loves to be close to her people, and is very cuddly, loves affection, and will whine at you for attention or to tell you she wants something. She can be a little bit of a talker like that! She'll roll on her belly for pets and wants to be a spoiled little princess!  Chromia is playful whether it's playing with your fingers and gently mouthing them or chasing a ball. She is bouncy and fast! She also loves to play with toys, and tosses them in the air to pounce on. She has some cute quirks like occasionally picking up her food bowl carefully to carry it to a preferred spot to eat which is always impressive how she doesn't spill it! She likes to wiggle under the covers to sleep, and when she plays with dogs she makes funny play noises while tucking her head upside down on the ground. She came to a California shelter heavily pregnant, and was rushed out of there as it's no place for newborn puppies. On transport she couldn't wait and gave birth to three healthy puppies. She's been the best mom to them, is always patient and loves playing with them. Now that they're grown up it's time for her new life to start, and what a joyful companion she will make for a family.  Chromia is being fostered with 3 other small dogs and enjoys their company and loves playing with them. We think she'd have a good time having a dog friend(s) that will also keep her company when you're away. She can be a little bossy with other dogs, and will let them know what her boundaries are.  Now that she's moving on from motherhood, she's slowly learning how to be a good dog citizen and can be a bit nervous and shy to meet people, but is curious and treat motivated. As soon as she knows you're safe she'll sweetly melt for pets. When she's accompanying you on running errands she stays close to you, and will look to you for support. With more encouragement that new people and dogs are friends to be made we know she'll be a confident pup soon!  The best home for Chromia would be a family with a playful confident small / medium sized dog, and a family that is patient, gentle, and will continue to support her with force-free positive training.  Underdogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations and preventatives. Adoption fee is $425. She's being fostered in the SE Portland Area. You MUST have an Underdogs Rock Rescue application on file to request a meet with an Underdog. An online Underdogs Rock adoption application can only be accessed at  https://underdogsrock.org/adopt-a-dog  . You must be available to meet an Underdog in their foster's location or host a meet and greet in your home and dogs are not held for applicants or shipped outside of the Portland metro area. Home checks are also part of the process and will be conducted virtually. Story
Meet Marisol Female DOB: March 29, 2026 Weight: 12 lbs (current — still growing) medium sized Expected Size: Small to Medium when fully grown Breed: Terrier Mix Spayed (Fixed): Pending (age-appropriate) Vaccines: Pending (age-appropriate) Microchipped Healthy & Adoption-Ready Personality, Breed Info & Expectations Marisol is a sweet and affectionate little puppy with a playful personality and loving spirit. At this young age, she is still discovering the world around her and enjoys cuddles, companionship, toys, playtime, and exploring new experiences with curiosity and excitement. She has a happy puppy energy while also loving closeness and affection from her people. Marisol is still very young and growing, making this an especially important stage for confidence-building, socialization, structure, and positive experiences that will help shape her into a happy and well-balanced adult dog. As a growing Terrier mix puppy, Marisol will likely mature into an intelligent, engaging companion with lots of personality and strong bonds with her family. Terrier mixes are often known for being affectionate, clever, energetic dogs who thrive with interaction, companionship, and enrichment. Marisol is expected to stay in the small-to-medium size range as an adult. Marisol would thrive in a home prepared for: Ongoing puppy training and supervision Daily exercise, playtime, and enrichment Structure, consistency, and routine Positive socialization and engagement A lifelong commitment to her emotional and physical well-being Puppies are adorable, but they are also a major responsibility requiring patience, supervision, training, and long-term commitment throughout every stage of life. Training, Adjustment & What to Expect Many rescue puppies come from uncertain beginnings and may not have had structure, socialization, or training before arriving at rescue. Even very young puppies require significant guidance and supervision to properly learn how to navigate life in a home environment. Puppies are not automatically trained simply because they are young. The rescue environment itself also does not always allow for extensive one-on-one training. While we work hard to provide safety, basic structure, and socialization, adopters should expect to continue all training and development after adoption. Adopting a puppy means being prepared for: Potty training and accidents Teething and chewing phases Crate training and leash training Nighttime wakeups and supervision Jumping, barking, and playful puppy behavior Ongoing socialization and confidence-building Daily exercise, enrichment, and structure Routine veterinary visits and vaccine boosters Financial commitment throughout the dog’s lifetime Because Marisol is still very young and small, extra care should also be taken around: Larger animals Rough play Stairs and jumping Unsafe chewing hazards Open doors or unsecured outdoor spaces Marisol will benefit from: Positive reinforcement training Daily structure and routine Continued socialization and exposure Mental stimulation and enrichment Patience, consistency, and supervision Please remember the 3-3-3 Rule: 3 days to decompress 3 weeks to learn your routine 3 months to fully feel at home With patience, guidance, and commitment, puppies like Marisol grow into wonderful lifelong companions. Owner Responsibilities & Veterinary Care Owning a puppy is a lifelong commitment that includes training, exercise, routine veterinary care, financial responsibility, and emotional commitment throughout every stage of life. Marisol will need: Ongoing puppy training and guidance Routine veterinary visits and vaccine boosters Preventative care including flea, tick, and heartworm prevention Proper nutrition and growth monitoring Daily exercise, enrichment, and companionship A safe, stable, indoor living environment Puppies require regular veterinary care throughout their first year, including booster vaccines, wellness exams, and spay surgery when age-appropriate. Because Marisol is still very young, adopters should also be prepared for the normal puppy phases that come with growing and learning, including chewing, teething, accidents, testing boundaries, and continued social development. Marisol is an indoor family dog and is not to be chained or left outside. Adoption Information If you are interested in adopting this wonderful puppy, please complete an adoption application by visiting: https://www.ozzieandfriendsrescue.org/adoptions Thank you for considering adoption through Ozzie and Friends Rescue, a Los Angeles–based rescue dedicated to giving dogs a second chance at a loving home. Story
**Please note this is pet is currently out of town pet but we will transport this pet to you when adopted. All fees listed include transport fees.** Meet Offa — a tiny Dachshund mix with a gentle soul and the sweetest little face. At around 3 years old and just 8 pounds, Offa is a quiet, sensitive boy who is learning that the world can be a safe and loving place. When Offa first meets new people, he can be a little shy and unsure, but with a little patience (and a few tasty treats!), his soft and loving personality begins to shine through. Once he feels comfortable, he enjoys companionship and gentle affection from the people he trusts most. Watching him slowly come out of his shell is incredibly rewarding. Offa is crate trained and does very well in his crate. He is still working on his house training and leash skills, so he’ll need a family willing to continue helping him build confidence and learn routines at his own pace. He responds wonderfully to kindness, patience, and positive reinforcement. This little guy has already been through quite a journey. When he came to us, he was covered in ticks and fleas and clearly had not been given the care he deserved. Thankfully, he received a full veterinary workup, and his bloodwork came back negative for any tick-borne illnesses. He also had a dental cleaning, so his teeth are now squeaky clean and healthy! Offa is looking for a calm, loving home where he can continue to blossom and finally experience the comfort and security every dog deserves. With a little time and understanding, this sweet boy will make a loyal and loving companion. Interested in becoming a forever home for Offa? Fill out our online adoption application: http://www.friendswithfourpaws.org/adoption-form.html This is the first step in our process, and we don't go any further without an application. Find more adoptable pets, news and information on Instagram @friendswithfourpaws or our Facebook page Friends with Four Paws . We put a lot of time and energy into processing our adoptions to find our babies the best fit home for them and you. Please do not submit an application if you are not serious about adopting. We are so excited to work with you to find you a new forever friend, and appreciate you working with us.For immediate consideration, please attach your application to the initial inquiry to help us expedite the process. Our adoption fee is $525. This includes their spay/neuter surgery, full (age appropriate) vaccinations, microchip insertion and registration, deworming, heartworm testing and prevention, flea and tick prevention and travel expenses. All of our dogs are rescued from local shelters and the general public in Oklahoma. Each dog is then placed in a foster home where he/she is kept for quarantine, to ensure if the dog gets sick it can receive proper treatment. Once an animal has received an application or there's an adopter interested, we make arrangements for transport. If a dog is already in foster care in NYC/NJ/OR, an adopter will be put in touch with the foster home AFTER an application is being processed. Thank you in advance for your patience with our process and for making adoption YOUR option!
