Story
Lucky is a very good boy who needs a loving family that will spend time with him. He is low maintenance, only needing to go out twice a day. He is quiet and calm and enjoys laying by your feet. He is peculiar when he eats because he takes his food from the bowl to another place in the room, places it on the floor, then picks it up again to eat it. He is not a very good walker because he wants to sniff everything. However, he does not run away and does not bark at other dogs. He sheds, a lot, so he requires daily brushes to reduce the shedding around the house.

Story
Age: 1 year old Located in a foster home in NJ Weight: 24 lbs Vet Record: 100% vaccinated, spayed, microchipped, female Cheerful Avia can’t wait to meet you! She greets everyone with a wagging tail and a playful grin. This petite pup is small enough to tag along on all your adventures, and sporty enough to keep up on long hikes! Avia is house-trained and has no separation anxiety; she’ll even spin in little circles to let you know she’s ready to go outside! She’s active, full of energy, and loves to play. This little girl still has some puppy energy and can play rough; she has no problem keeping up with dogs much bigger than she is, so if your dog needs a fun playmate to burn off energy, Avia might be the perfect match. Avia would do best in the suburbs, ideally in a home with a fenced yard where she can run and play. An active family that enjoys long walks, hikes, or jogs would be a great fit. Avia is ready for her next adventure—maybe with you! Fill out an adoption application to meet her today. Should you decide the adoption is not working out, you can notify us within the first week and we will coordinate a time to take the dog back into a foster home and issue a refund of the adoption fee minus $75.

Story
Age: 11 months old Located in a foster home in NJ Weight: 16 lbs Vet Record: 100% vaccinated, spayed, microchipped, female Meet Violet! Sweet, gentle, and cheerful, Violet is the perfect mix of lap dog and walking buddy, all wrapped up in an extra-petite package. This little girl is full of personality! She’s curious, affectionate, and playful. She loves to cuddle, give kisses, go for walks, and she’s a wonderful leash walker. Violet would do well in a home with kids, another dog, and/or cats. She’s currently in a foster home in NJ, where she’s learning her potty routine and doing great - she’s smart and catching on quickly. At home, she’s not destructive. She happily entertains herself with toys or naps quietly on your desk while you work. She loves to be close to her people, and as soon as you get on the couch, she will be right there too, asking for affection. Violet is looking for her forever family: someone who loves hugs, walks, and sharing the couch. Could that be you? Fill out an adoption application today! Story
Have you met Fred? His owner is dead. 😔 He was never well-socialized from what his owner’s relatives said. But was devoted to his master and slept in his bed. 🛏️ He was scared and defensive and at first meeting strangers filled him with dread. 😱 But he is very food motivated and warms up as soon as he’s fed. 🍱 🍦 🍗 Fred has long lumpy body that looks like a loaf of bread, 🍞 Amazing big ears and a comically disproportionately tiny head. He had not been to a vet in a decade and needed a dental and some meds, 💊 He is dangerously overweight from being overfed. But at least he was already neutered and never bred. He’s an 11 year old chiweenie- that’s doxie/chi mix and not a purebred. We were warned he might be more of a jerky little butthead, But he’s actually just a scared wimpy guy, and we are happy we were misled. He’s currently peacefully living with other small calm dogs, there’s been no bloodshed. We don’t normally write poetry, but a surprising number of things rhyme with Fred 🤷‍♀️ So we are hopeful our very bad literary work will help his story stick in your head. Story
Doxie fans, we have another perfect little antique for you 😍 Leia is a sweet sleepy 16 year old mini looking for somewhere with an abundance of soft fuzzy beds to live out her life. Her owner died and a relative took her in but could no longer have her due to housing issues. She’s fine with other sloth-like 🦥 gentle dogs, has always lived with cats, is used to wee wee pads, and is at the stage in life where she mostly just naps 😴, eats, naps, repeat. Her bloodwork was surprisingly amazing for an ancient girl but she does have some heart disease that’s she’s on medication for longterm. Email njwoof@cs.com to bring this little old lady home! She’s located in Northern NJ Since COVID-19, we are no longer holding our Sunday adoption events until further notice, but we are scheduling meet and greet appointments with a specific dog or dogs at our meeting spots in Northern NJ.
