Story
Francesca is part of the Bridgerton Litter. Mom is Molly, also available for adoption and she looks like a Schnauzer x Wired Haired Dachshund. Dad is thought to be a roaming neighborhood Lab mix. At about 9 weeks old. Francesca weighed about 8 pounds. Her foster says: Francesca is a shining example of energy and enthusiasm - she just keeps inspiring us all with her zest for life. She's incredibly helpful, too, and loves to lend a paw to her foster dad in cleaning up the yard by collecting any sticks he misses, demonstrating the value of teamwork. And, let's be real, who needs a laundry basket when you have a puppy like Francesca, who's always happy to 'help' by collecting any missing clothes on the floor showing us that even the smallest tasks can be accomplished with a little creativity and enthusiasm. We're working on potty training, and she's a total rockstar - no accidents in several weeks. She can even hang out in her crate for seven hours without any mishaps, demonstrating her growing independence and self-discipline. Treats are her love language, which makes training a total blast, as she learns and grows with each new challenge. She's already mastered the art of sitting, and we're working on teaching her to give paw next, a reminder that learning is a lifelong journey. This little pup may be small, but she's got a big personality and isn't afraid to show it. She gets along with other dogs - she's currently living with a foster brother - and loves kids, demonstrating the importance of compassion, empathy, and kindness. She's even got a weekly playdate at daycare where she gets to hang out with other dogs and kids. This pup is basically a Velcro dog - she'll follow you everywhere and is always looking up to see what you're up to next. And, let's not forget, she loves to snuggle up on your lap and watch movies, showing us that even in a busy world, there's always time for love, connection, and relaxation. ***You must provide a vet reference for a current or past pet you have/had.*** "Bridgerton" puppy's adoption fee is $550. For puppies that have not been able to be neutered/spayed yet (due to being too young or small) we charge $550 with the condition that when they are fixed $50 is refunded. This covers all their age-appropriate shots, microchipping and vetting.

Story
Age: 2 years old Weight: 26 lbs Vet Record: 100% vaccinated, spayed, microchipped, female Molly may be the sweetest dog in the world. More than anything, she wants to be close to her person and be part of whatever they are doing. Whether it's a walk, a car ride, or relaxing at home, Molly is happiest when she is by your side. She has a cheerful personality and an endless supply of love. Molly is house-trained, friendly with new people, and feels comfortable around traffic, cars, and busy streets. She enjoys walks and just needs a little more leash training. On walks, she will happily roll over for belly rubs and attention from anyone willing to give them! Molly gets along wonderfully with other dogs. She currently lives in a foster home with a cat. She is very interested in becoming friends with him, although the cat is still deciding how he feels about that! Molly is looking for someone who will love her as much as she will love them. She will be a loyal companion and a wonderful best friend. Fill out our adoption application to meet Molly! Story
Monty NJ & Gwen NJ are looking for a home together after spending the last 12 years side by side. Sadly, their owner lost his home and had to make the heartbreaking decision to give them up. We know senior bonded pairs are often overlooked, but we would truly hate to separate these two best friends. Monty is a long-bodied little guy, possibly a Dachshund or Basset mix, and somehow still going strong at a shocking 15 years old! Gwen is a 12-year-old Chihuahua mix with the sweetest face. Both are in good health and have so much love left to give. They are gentle, sweet dogs who are understandably a bit timid adjusting to such a huge life change, but every day they come out of their shells more and more. They love each other deeply and find comfort being together. Monty and Gwen are good with people, dogs, and cats. They are microchipped, fixed, and up to date on vaccines. All they need now is a quiet, loving home where they can stay together for the rest of their golden years June 19, 2026, 8:17 pm

Story
🚨 Dachshund Army, Mocha needs your help! 🚨 Only 3 1/2 years old, her life was forever changed when she was recently hind end paralyzed due to the dreaded doxie IVDD. Sadly disc issues are the price the breed pays for those adorable short stubby legs and long backs. She was on medication but did not regain function, and we weren’t contacted to take her in until a week after her injury, too late for surgery to give her a high chance of regaining normal hind end function. She’s seen a neurologist and is on strict crate rest right now- there is still some chance she may improve over time since it was a very small disc with minimal compression on her spinal cord, but we have to have to move forward with the expectation the damage is permanent. She’s no longer in any pain and can still live a long happy quality life as a wheelchair dog with the right person and a lot of extra care. She’s a gentle sweet small standard dapple longhair, 16lbs, loves her squeaky toys, likes other small gentle dogs and is coping her with crate rest and lifestyle change as well as can be expected. She is incontinent but has been cooperative having her bladder expressed and being cleaned, and hasn’t been leaking between expressions as long as done regularly. We are urgently seeking a longer term foster or adopter able to stay on top of her care to make sure she doesn’t get sores or urinary tract infections. Mocha is a lifestyle choice not to be entered into lightly, but promises to reward you with years of loyalty and trademark doxie kisses and long-nosed nuzzles. Thanks to our partnership with Ramapo-Bergen Animal Refuge she was able to get an immediate neurology visit and MRI to explore all avenues for how best to help her. Please email njwoof@cs.com if you can open your home to this special girl, either as a foster or on a permanent basis Since COVID-19, we are no longer holding our Sunday adoption events until further notice, but we are scheduling meet and greet appointments with a specific dog or dogs at our meeting spots in Northern NJ. To streamline adoptions, all communication before, during, and after the adoption process is done through email only: we have limited volunteers able to return phone calls. Submit an application from our website www.secondchance.petfinder.com to speed up the adoption process and email any questions to us at njwoof@cs.com. Please check your email regularly for next steps. All our dogs reside in foster care in Northern NJ until adoption and we do not have a central shelter location. We are a small all-volunteer organization focused on rescuing local dogs from area shelters, as well as accepting some surrenders and puppy mill rescues.

Story
DOB 12-7-2024 Wolfie is a gorgeous Red and White Long Hair! This beautiful boy loves everyone, likes to play with toys and his friends. He is neutered, heartworm negative and has received a Proheart6 preventative injection, up to date on shots and is now looking for a loving home. His adoption fee is 900.00 and his transport fee is 135.00. HEARTS is our transport, they run every 2 weeks. It's the best transport and the only one we will use. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an online adoption application. You can find a copy of that application here. After you submit your application please allow a few days to review your application. During this time your vet reference will be checked. Applications are not approved on a first come, first serve basis. We do look for the best home that fits each of our pets, so even if the pet has other applications, this does not mean he/she will be adopted to that home. Once your application has been approved we with contact you to set up a phone interview. This is the perfect time for you to ask any questions you have about the adoption process and the pet you are interested in.Together we can decide if this is the best choice for both.

Story
This purebred chocolate long-haired boy is named Rexx and he would like very much to come to NJ to find a new home. Rex is 3 years old and weighs about 13 pounds. Rexx is very loving but he can be a hog about not sharing with other dogs in the house. He is learning that he can't be King of the Castle all of the time though. He lives with lots of dogs & is good with them - he is also a very smart boy! Rexx does have some separation anxiety so he would not do well in attached housing. If there is not another dog in his new home then he'd do well with someone who is home most of the time. Rexx would do best in an adult-only household but may be fine with young adults over 15 years old who can respect his space. If you think your home would be a good fit for Rexx, please fill out an adoption application and be sure to mention his name, REXX DOXIE!June 18, 2026, 10:57 am
