Happy Henry! Henry is a 8-10 year old dachshund mix that is all set for his forever home! Henry is house broken, great on a leash, great with other dogs, cats and children and just looking to hang out! He will follow foster mommy and daddy from room to room and will always be looking for a seat next to you on the couch. He’s happy just sitting next to you and doesn’t ask for constant pets- he just wants to be next to you. He’s a happy boy and the longer he spends with his foster family the more goofy and playful he gets. Though he’s a short, mature king, this doesn’t stop him from cutely patrolling the backyard with his foster brother. He prances all over (it’s very cute to watch). Foster brother even waits for him to go together for their patrols. He’s very good at other dogs’ social cues which allows for dogs to let him into the pack quickly. He’s learning basic commands like sit and stay, but is very quick to respond to no, no cues. He’s a great listener and looking to just hang out and enjoy his forever family. https://www.coldnosewarmheart.org/apply-now.html @cnwhnj @coldnosewarmheartnj

Story
❤️ Meet Buddy — This Boy Deserves a Second Chance! ❤️ Buddy is an adorable, happy, playful wire-haired Dachshund mix who is looking for a family to call his own. We aren't exactly sure what else is mixed in there, but whatever he is, the result is 100% adorable! 🐶❤️ Buddy was previously adopted from a shelter in Mississippi, but unfortunately, his adoption did not work out. His owner would let him out into the backyard and then allow him to roam the neighborhood. This was a violation of the adoption contract, and Buddy ultimately came back to the shelter. FHDR found a foster for Buddy and had him transported to NJ. Buddy didn't do anything wrong. He was simply failed by the person who was supposed to keep him safe. Now Buddy is hoping for a real forever home — one where he will be loved, cared for, and included as part of the family. And Buddy has so much to offer! ❤️ 🏠 He is house trained! 🐶 He is dog friendly! 🐱 He is cat friendly! 🎾 He is playful and loves to have fun! 😊 He is friendly, happy, and affectionate! Buddy especially wants something that he hasn't had enough of — someone to play with! He wants a person who will interact with him, have fun with him, and make him feel like he finally belongs. He has such a fun personality and an adorable scruffy little face. Buddy is the kind of dog who will make you smile just by being himself. All Buddy needs now is someone who will give him the second chance he deserves and, most importantly, never let him down again. ❤️ If you're looking for a happy, playful, dog-and-cat-friendly companion who is ready to be your best buddy, Buddy may be the one you've been waiting for! 📩 To inquire about adopting Buddy, email FureverHomeDogRescue@gmail.com. If you have a furever home for this pet, please e-mail Furever Home Dog Rescue at FureverHomeDogRescue@gmail.com and request an adoption application. The breed and age of this pet is listed as is our best guess. We have no background info on who the mom and dad are. Please note we do not adopt puppies/dogs to homes where they will be left alone all day. We do not have a shelter facility you can visit. Our volunteers foster the dogs and pups in their homes once they have been vetted and transported here to FHDR. Please read our homepage www.fhdr.petfinder.com to read how the adoption process works. And, please visit Furever Home Dog Rescue's homepage www.FureverHomeDogRescue.com to see some of our many reviews. Thank you!

Story
** Current Location: in a foster home in South Korea ** Meet Lylla :) • She rides so well that if you open the car door she gets in by herself, and she doesn't get car sick at all. If you like traveling she would make a really good buddy! • She loves playing with other dogs, running in the park, cuddles, kisses, sleeping with you, walks, hikes, and delicious food (fruit, sweet potatoes, pumpkin, cheese, meat) and treats! • Personality: She is affectionate, full of energy, loves to have fun, and adapts well to new things. She likes both people and dogs and cats (she'll play with them). She also loves to play in the park or the mountains. When she's excited, she'll purr to show her excitement. She loves to be held - she wants to fall asleep with you in your arms. She's the best dog ever!

DOB 12-7-2024 Wolfie is a gorgeous Red and White Long Hair! This beautiful boy loves everyone, likes to play with toys and his friends. He is neutered, heartworm negative and has received a Proheart6 preventative injection, up to date on shots and is now looking for a loving home. His adoption fee is 900.00 and his transport fee is 135.00. HEARTS is our transport, they run every 2 weeks. It's the best transport and the only one we will use. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an online adoption application. You can find a copy of that application here. After you submit your application please allow a few days to review your application. During this time your vet reference will be checked. Applications are not approved on a first come, first serve basis. We do look for the best home that fits each of our pets, so even if the pet has other applications, this does not mean he/she will be adopted to that home. Once your application has been approved we with contact you to set up a phone interview. This is the perfect time for you to ask any questions you have about the adoption process and the pet you are interested in.Together we can decide if this is the best choice for both.

Story
PROSPECT PETE: Tiny Dog. Massive Feelings. Absolutely No Men. Prospect Pete is a 5-year-old miniature Dachshund who was found wandering the streets of Louisiana looking like life had thoroughly kicked his little wiener-dog ass. When NorthStar took him in, Pete was skinny, covered in hair loss, had double ear infections, needed a dental, had a growth on his chest, and frankly looked like he’d been through several terrible life choices and at least one bad relationship. The good news? His body is healing. The bad news? Pete has apparently decided that men are canceled. We can’t know exactly what happened to him during his first five years, but we’re pretty certain a man failed this little guy in a big way. Pete would very much like to file for a lifetime restraining order against the male gender and is currently accepting applications from women only. His ideal home consists of: ✔ Women. ✔ More women. ✔ Another friendly dog. ✔ Snacks. ✔ Soft voices. ✔ Someone who is home a lot. ✔ Absolutely no dudes trying to “win him over.” Pete doesn’t bite men. He doesn’t attack men. He simply looks at them and says, “No thank you, sir. I’ve had enough.” He adores other dogs and apparently every anxious little dachshund needs an emotional support dog. He loves toys, running in the yard, car rides, and being close to his person. He sleeps quietly in his crate when he knows you’re nearby because, like many of us, he simply wants reassurance that everyone isn’t leaving him forever. Now, let’s discuss the elephant in the room: Pete is not housebroken. There. We said it. Pete wears a belly band because sometimes his feelings get bigger than his bladder. He uses potty pads when available, goes outside with encouragement, and continues to work on his life skills. He’s basically a middle-aged man who refuses therapy but is making small improvements. He also hates cats, so if you own a cat, Pete would like to respectfully suggest that you do not. Pete needs: • A female-only home • Another dog companion • Someone home most of the day • Patience • Understanding • A sense of humor • An appreciation for tiny dogs with enormous emotional baggage He is not a plug-and-play dog. He is a project. A tiny, adorable, traumatized, opinionated project. But if you’re looking for a fiercely loyal little shadow who will love you with his entire crooked, anxious, dachshund heart, Prospect Pete might just be your guy. Apply at www.northstarpets.org and ask for PROSPECT PETE LA. Warning: Pete comes with trust issues, a loud bark, occasional accidents, and enough emotional damage to qualify for his own therapist.August 29, 2026, 10:16 am

Story
Vera's Skye is a beautiful 7-year-old Red Piebald Dachshund recently rescued by NorthStar and who is now in a loving foster home. She came into rescue with a mammary tumor but that has been removed by the vet and she is completely healed. Skye is very sweet but she is shy. She loves being outdoors whenever possible. She gets along well with all the dogs in her foster home but she is not cat friendly. Skye has done well being crated when necessary and she appears to be housebroken.  If you would like to give Skye a new home, please fill out an adoption application and be sure to mention her name, VERA'S SKYE TX!
