Story
We found him dumped about a month ago with his brother from the same litter. He's super playful, has a lot of energy and a lot of love to give. Scrappy's favorite game inside is tug of war and his favorite game outside is chasing bugs! He does pretty well on the leash most of the time, but he does love extra time to sniff. He's done well at the park when we've taken him and I think he'd be a great trail/hiking dog! Scrappy's also very smart and highly food motivated, so he's been easy to train. I haven't ever trained another dog before, but he's learned a few commands in a short stretch of time. We're rehoming him because he and his brother are entering the adolescent stage and already showed that they have litter-mate syndrome (highly competitive with each other, they fought) and have to be separated to give them both the best chance of a full, happy life, and Scrappy is the more confident and adaptable of the two.

Story
Meet LeenaAt just 5 months old, Leena is a happy, playful little Chiweenie with plenty of personality and lots of love to give! This sweet girl loves her toys, especially a good game of tug-of-war, and she`s always ready for a tasty chew. She loves attention and wants to be part of the action with her people.Leena is great with kids, loves other dogs, and thinks cats make pretty great playmates, too! She may take a little time to warm up when meeting someone new, but once she feels comfortable, her sweet and loving personality shines through. She`s already doing well with potty training and is still learning her leash skills. Leena would be perfectly happy as an only dog but wouldn`t mind having a furry friend to play with either. If you`re looking for a fun, affectionate puppy who will keep you smiling and then happily curl up for some love, Leena could be your girl!To set up a meet and greet or inquire about a dog, please first fill out an application at https://savinghoperescue.org/adopt. It doesn`t obligate you, but it is the first step. We don`t get to all of the inquiries but respond to all applications. Thank you for choosing to rescue!

Story
Meet Abe! Abe is a 5-year-old Dachshund who may be a tiny guy at just 9 pounds, but he has a whole lot of sweetness packed into that little body! He can be a little frightened when he first meets you, but once he feels safe and gets to know you, his true personality comes shining through. Give him a little patience, and you’ll discover the sweetest little friend.Abe absolutely loves other dogs and needs another dog in his forever home. Having a canine companion helps him feel comfortable and confident, and he truly enjoys having a buddy by his side. He also loves chewing on toys—even though he’s missing most of his teeth! ??Abe is great with kids, likes cats, and is crate trained. He can live in an apartment, but his new family will need to be prepared for some extra work: Abe is not currently house trained or pad trained and will need someone with the time and patience to help him learn. An easily accessible yard would be ideal.Abe is also missing the majority of his teeth, so his forever family will need to be mindful of his diet and provide food that works well for his dental needs.Abe is neutered, vaccinated, and heartworm tested negative. Once he trusts you, this little guy has so much love to give. If you’re willing to give a timid little Dachshund the patience, companionship, and guidance he needs, Abe could be the sweet little friend you’ve been looking for!To set up a meet and greet or inquire about a dog, please first fill out an application at https://savinghoperescue.org/adopt. It doesn`t obligate you, but it is the first step. We don`t get to all of the inquiries but respond to all applications. Thank you for choosing to rescue!

Story
Meet Frick 🌭🐾 2 years old | Mini Dachshund | Lowrider Legend Frick is tiny, stubborn, hilarious, and fully committed to the dachshund lifestyle. He’s got the classic weenie dog attitude — curious, opinionated, convinced he’s much larger than he actually is — but underneath all that swagger is a sweet little guy who’s learning how to be the best boy. Frick came to us heartworm positive, so he’s currently wrapping up his treatment and vetting. Once he gets the all-clear, he’ll officially be ready to start the spoiled pet life he was clearly born for. He loves attention, keeps everyone entertained, and has the kind of personality only a dachshund can get away with. Honestly… it’s a weenie dog. You already know this man is going to have applications flying in 🌭✨

Story
Meet Stevie Ray 🎸 Who needs eyesight when you've got this much confidence? Stevie Ray is a 6-month-old, 8-pound mini Dachshund who happens to be deaf & blind—but don't bother telling him that. This little guy is busy living life at full speed. Stevie has already mastered navigating the couch, ottoman, living room, and backyard. He follows voices, learns routines quickly, and approaches every day with enthusiasm and absolutely zero fear. He's playful, affectionate, and loves wrestling with his dog friends just as much as he loves snuggling with his people. He recently met a kid and immediately decided they were the greatest invention of all time. At bedtime, Stevie happily heads into his crate for a treat, sleeps through the night, and is making great progress with house training. Like any puppy, he can get excited and vocal when the other dogs are having fun—but he never wants to miss out on the action. Full of personality, Stevie Ray is proof that sometimes the biggest outlook on life comes in the smallest package. ❤️
