He prefers to be fed alone. He is potty and crate trained. His foster mama calls him “Clarky Barky” because he likes to bark at the intruders (Amazon delivery drivers). Meet our newest low-rider, Alfred! Alfred was a stray who we found covered in fleas, roaming East Dallas. Fortunately, one of our awesome volunteers is fostering this short and stout gentleman while he waits for a forever family to show him the good life. Alfred is a 14-year-old, 25 lb, dachshund/corgi mix. This sweet senior is as friendly as can be. He is very dog-friendly and he seems to be cat-friendly, too. Alfred is low energy; while he enjoys the occasional yard exploration or short walk, his favorite pastime is simply napping. Alfred is the perfect mix of cuddly and independent, and he's generally happy to just go with the flow. Alfred is crate trained and housebroken as well as neutered, heartworm negative, and current on all vaccines. Looking for a cute senior fella to grace your couch? Charlie is an unusual, unique but gorgeous dog! He appears to be a mix of a Bassett Hound (with his short legs) and Golden Retreiver. What a great combo! He is about 7 months old and currently weighs about 35lbs but will likely grow to about 40-45lbs. He is so incredibly sweet and really loves the women! We have to say, he seems to be partial to the ladies:) However, he does do well with men and kids and loves to play with dogs of all sizes. He will steal your heart! He was rescued from a rural shelter when they became overcrowded, saving him from being killed.
