Story
Franklin is a Dachshund/Terrier mix that’s about 3 years old and weighs 24lbs. He was found living on the streets as a stray and is learning quickly how great it is to live in a house! Franklin is good with other dogs, but he`s a bit wary of humans at first. He warms up to women right away, but takes his time getting to know men. Once he trusts you though, you`ve got a friend for life. Franklin will follow you anywhere and everywhere!Franklin is a very loving boy and is working hard on all his training so that he can be the best dog he can be. His biggest goals right now are to finish his potty training (he`s so close!) and to learn to stay calm and relaxed in his kennel. He’s full of life and a little silly, so after working on his training he loves playing, belly rubs, and snuggles.Franklin had a rough start to life but that hasn’t stopped him from being a wonderful, faithful companion. To help him continue living the good life in a loving home, please apply to adopt him today at www.pawsinthecity.org

Story
Winnie was found wandering, even though she had been adopted from a shelter.  Previous owners not answering so she was dumped by them. She is very sweet but initially a little timid. Given her recent experience, not surprising. She has been resting and decompressing. Loves to be outside and she sleeps all night in her crate. Winnie learns quick and is very smart. She is potty trained, crate trained and housebroken. She is good with other dogs. Winnie just needs a loving family who will teach her what it is really like to be loved and to be safe.   https://bit.ly/codys_adoption_application. ##2340504##

Story
ShyAnn is a sweet and gentle 2-year-old Dachshund/Corgi mix with the cutest little legs and a heart full of love. True to her name, she can be a bit shy when meeting new people, but it doesn’t take long at all for her to warm up—and once she does, she’s your best friend for life! ShyAnn loves everyone she meets and enjoys being part of the action. She has a playful side and absolutely loves to play chase with her foster sibling—she’s not the least bit intimidated by his bigger size! In fact, we feel she really needs the companionship and energy of another dog in the home. ShyAnn is crate trained, house trained, and a very well-mannered little lady. She is, however, afraid of storms and will need a bit of extra TLC and reassurance during bad weather. With her affectionate nature, playful spirit, and soulful eyes, ShyAnn is ready to bring love and joy to her forever home. ##2348889##

BREED-Dachshund Mix; SEX-Male; SIZE-Small; WEIGHT-10 lbs.; AGE-Approximately 2 Years; SPAY/NEUTER-Yes; HOUSETRAINED-Currently Uses Doggie Door; GOOD WITH KIDS-Yes; GOOD WITH DOGS-Yes; GOOD WITH CATS-Unknown; HISTORY-Rescued From A Local Shelter; ADOPTION FEE-$300;Hey there, I'm Marmaduke! I've got a goofy tale for ya. I was living the high life, I tell ya, snacking on gourmet dog biscuits, until one day, I spotted a squirrel. Now, I'm not one to back down from a chase, so off I went, tail wagging, paws flying! Next thing I knew, I was in the middle of a dog show! Let's just say, the poodles weren't too pleased. They sent me packing and I ended up here. But hey, every cloud has a silver lining, right? I'm sweet, friendly, and always ready for a good laugh. So, how about it? Fancy a game of fetch? I promise I won't chase any squirrels...maybe.April 14, 2025, 7:44 am

Story
Deenie was born August 2020. She was the runt out of the 4 puppies my dachshund had. Her name is short for Houdini. She got her name because she was the only puppy that kept getting out of the cage and we couldn’t figure out why. She loves attention and could cuddle for hours. She does have a little bit of separation anxiety and doesn’t like to be alone. She has a lot of energy and can run circles I’m the yard. I work a lot and don’t really have the time to give her the attention that she needs. I have not been able to house train her. I work a lot. I know she would be better off with someone that can give her the time and attention she deserves.

Story
Hi! My name is Leo and I am five years old! I was originally born in Mississippi and I belong to a single mom! I went with her to TN for nursing school and then we moved to Vegas. Recently I moved to Dallas! My mom has a busy schedule now and is thinking I might be happier with a new family! I do have special needs…as of July 2024, I have Epilepsy which requires daily medications! Overall I am a happy dog that likes to be outside or cuddling! I play fetch as well!
