Story
Meet Roo 🌟🌭 DOB: 10/2025 | 9 lbs of dachshund chaos and charm If you've ever thought, "I wish I had a tiny best friend who follows me everywhere and keeps life interesting," Roo would like to submit his application. Roo is a young Double Dapple Dachshund with a big personality packed into a very small package. He's curious, playful, affectionate, and fully committed to being involved in absolutely everything you're doing. Bathroom trip? Roo's coming. Making coffee? Roo's supervising. Sitting on the couch? Roo has already claimed a spot. Roo came to NTASR as an owner surrender and is now fully vetted, healthy, and ready to find a family of his own. Because Roo is a Double Dapple, he has vision impairment in his right eye, likely related to his genetics. Double Dapple Dachshunds are the dachshund equivalent of Double Merle dogs. When two dapple dogs are bred together, puppies can be born with vision and hearing impairments. He navigates the world like a champ, plays, explores, cuddles, and enjoys life exactly as a puppy should. He may occasionally need a little extra guidance in new environments, but his vision impairment doesn't stop him from being a happy, adventurous little guy. Roo's ideal home will be with people who understand and appreciate dachshunds, including their big opinions, clever minds, and occasional determination to do things their own way. Dachshund experience isn't required, but a family willing to learn about the breed and Roo's unique needs will set everyone up for success. The highlights: ✔️ Fully vetted ✔️ Tiny and portable ✔️ Affectionate and people oriented ✔️ Playful and curious ✔️ Vision impairment in right eye, but thriving ✔️ Ready for his forever home Roo has already had a few bumps in the road during his first year of life. We'd love for the rest of his story to be much simpler: a comfy bed, a family who adores him, and a lifetime of adventures. If you're looking for a little dog with a huge heart, Roo is ready to meet you 💙🐾

Story
Meet Frick 🌭🐾 2 years old | Mini Dachshund | Lowrider Legend Frick is tiny, stubborn, hilarious, and fully committed to the dachshund lifestyle. He’s got the classic weenie dog attitude — curious, opinionated, convinced he’s much larger than he actually is — but underneath all that swagger is a sweet little guy who’s learning how to be the best boy. Frick came to us heartworm positive, so he’s currently wrapping up his treatment and vetting. Once he gets the all-clear, he’ll officially be ready to start the spoiled pet life he was clearly born for. He loves attention, keeps everyone entertained, and has the kind of personality only a dachshund can get away with. Honestly… it’s a weenie dog. You already know this man is going to have applications flying in 🌭✨
