I adopted Boo from Epic in 2020. He has been the best, most sweet-natured dog I have ever had. Unfortunately, I have recently been diagnosed with terminal liver cancer so — while I hope to continue to be able to take care of him for at least 3 or 4 more months, I do want to look into potential adoptees for him now to help ensure that I can find a family or person that will love and appreciate him as much as he deserves.

Luna is a 7 year old Dalmatian/Lab mix She weighs about 50 pounds and is house-trained, crate-trained, and walks well on leash. She has grown up with kids and is gentle with all ages and loves to give kisses. She loves squeaky toys and snuggles and playing in the backyard to keep an eye on the squirrels! She is highly trainable and super eager to please. Luna was born deaf but was taught hand commands from age 5 months. She responds well to visual cues and is eager to learn more. Deaf dogs are just like regular dogs, you simply communicate with them a little differently! If Luna sounds like the perfect addition to your family but you are worried about her being deaf don't be! We will include sessions with our trainer for any interested family to help make the transition super easy! Luna either needs to be an only dog (as being deaf other dogs can startle her) or potentially with a calm male dog. We are a RESCUE GROUP, not a shelter, and all of our animals are in foster homes. To start the adoption process, email us at adoptions@earstexas.org requesting an application. Submitting an application does not commit you in any way, but helps us make the best match between people and our available dogs. Your current or past dogs must be inside dogs who have been spayed/neutered and are on heartworm prevention. All of the dogs in our program are inside dogs and are completely vetted including all vaccinations, spayed/neutered, free of internal parasites, microchipped, heartworm negative and on prevention before adoption. Our adoption process includes an application, check of vet records or personal references, interview, neutral site meet & greet with the dog and your family, and a home visit.

As a puppy, she didn't learn to read doggy language very well, so she doesn't really know how to play. She is available for foster to adopt now! Lucy is heartworm positive and needs to go through treatment, and RHS will cover all her vet expenses. She is a one year-old 60 pound Pointer mix that was brought into our shelter as a stray on 8/19. It looks like she’s been well cared for. She has an easy-going, fun-loving disposition. She appears to be smiling and her tail wags constantly. She’s friendly, enthusiastic, sociable, sweet, and affectionate. She occasionally jumps on you but gets down when told to do so. She loves to be in the presence of people and enjoys having her ears scratched. She did her business as soon as she got out into the yard. She walked ahead of me on the leash without pulling. You’re looking for love and all the wrong places if you’re not coming to the Mesquite Animal Shelter. Griffin is a prime example of a very loving boy that chooses closeness and is generous with kisses! Besides that he’s handsome and very distinguished looking! Griffin is a 10 month old 57 pound mixed breed (Catahoula Leopard Dog/Great Dane) that came to Mesquite Animal Shelter on 9/21. He’s gray, black and dark brown. He is also too thin. He’s alert and energetic but knows how to settle down. He’s very sweet. He’s tailwagging happy. He’s friendly, easy-going, and very attentive. When you sit down, he’ll come to you and either put his head on your lap or give you kisses. He had a slight pull on the leash. He did do his business immediately when he got out into the yard. He likes to investigate so a yard or outside activity would be advised. But he also likes the comforts of home and cuddling!
