Meet Skyler! This beautiful 3-year-old, 55 lb dog is looking for a new home where she can be the star. Skyler’s owners are rehoming her as she's recently started playing a little too rough with the cat and smaller dogs. She would do best as the only pet or with a dog her size or larger. Skyler is playful, sweet, and would make a wonderful companion for someone ready for her energetic and loving personality. She’s up to date on shots, spayed, and housetrained. If you’re interested in giving Skyler a forever home, please fill out an application. codysfriendsrescue.org  Foster or adopt. Story
Luna is a 5 year old Dalmatian/Lab mix She weighs about 50 pounds and is house-trained, crate-trained, and walks well on leash. She has grown up with kids and is gentle with all ages and loves to give kisses. She loves squeaky toys and snuggles and playing in the backyard to keep an eye on the squirrels! She is highly trainable and super eager to please. Luna was born deaf but was taught hand commands from age 5 months. She responds well to visual cues and is eager to learn more. Deaf dogs are just like regular dogs, you simply communicate with them a little differently! If Luna sounds like the perfect addition to your family but you are worried about her being deaf don't be! We will include sessions with our trainer for any interested family to help make the transition super easy! Luna either needs to be an only dog (as being deaf other dogs can startle her) or potentially with a calm male dog. We are a RESCUE GROUP, not a shelter, and all of our animals are in foster homes. To start the adoption process, email us at adoptions@earstexas.org requesting an application. Submitting an application does not commit you in any way, but helps us make the best match between people and our available dogs. Your current or past dogs must be inside dogs who have been spayed/neutered and are on heartworm prevention. All of the dogs in our program are inside dogs and are completely vetted including all vaccinations, spayed/neutered, free of internal parasites, microchipped, heartworm negative and on prevention before adoption. Our adoption process includes an application, check of vet records or personal references, interview, neutral site meet & greet with the dog and your family, and a home visit.

Story
Hi my name is Maverick Im almost 18 months old, I was given to my current mom by a family member when I was about 3 months old. I know how to sit, wait for my food to be placed down before I eat, I know the words wait. I am potty trained. My current mom thinks Im not being given the attention I need as I am very energetic. She believes because I am half Australian Shepherd that I need to be on a ranch doing tasks keeping my mind busy. I’m also very fast I mean fast! I do like to hunt even though I was not taught to I do like to bring mom “gifts” from time to time. (So I would make a great hunting dog) I do like to get wet but I don’t like to take baths. I’m very sweet but I do like my space.

Marshall is a fantastic boy!  He is dog, cat and kid friendly! He rides well in the car, walks great on a leash, is crate and potty trained!  He'll enjoy a long walk or a snuggle sesh on the couch and rarely complains! The one thing hindering this amazing boy from finding a family, is that he is absolutely terrified of thunder and fireworks. He needs a home with sympathetic and understanding humans that will love him and reassure him in these times of doubt.  He will repay you for your kindness with endless love and kisses.   Marshall is about 50lbsHe is neutered, microchipped, fully vaccinated and current on prevention. Please reach out if you have any questions or are interested in giving this boy a family!  Please be sure to include your phone number with your inquiries and check your spam folder for a reply. ##1178228##

I used to roam the streets of Mexico, full of adventure and curiosity. One day, I stumbled upon a glowing crystal. As I sniffed it, I was transformed into Super Chevy, a canine superhero! I spent my days helping others, from rescuing cats stuck in trees to guiding lost puppies home. But, even superheroes need a break. So, I ended up here, at this shelter. I'm still Super Chevy, though. I've got the heart of a hero, full of love and kindness. I'm playful and sweet, always ready for a game of fetch or a cuddle session. Now, I'm looking for a sidekick. Someone who's ready to share in my adventures, to be my forever friend. Could that be you? Adopt me, and let's write our own superhero story together.May 18, 2025, 9:00 pm
