Meet Hugh, a 3-year-old Doberman with gorgeous floppy ears and a big hearts! This handsome cuddle bug is the definition of a gentle giant. He loves leaning in close for snuggles (he'll even lean on strangers he just met!), giving sweet kisses, and soaking up all the affection you’re willing to give. Hugh is eager to please and thrives on connection, making him a wonderful companion for someone looking for a loyal, loving best friend. He's also super treat motivated and has been taking obedience classes with his wonderful foster, where he loves learning new commands and tricks. So far he knows his name, sit, stay and down and he's working on watch (eye contact) and leave it. He walks well on leash and loves being out with his people, happily greeting other dogs and people. He will only pull occasionally if he gets startled by a car, though this only happens on particularly busy streets. Hugh is great with other dogs and has been gentle and cuddly with the kids he's met, so he could live well in a home with respectful kids too. He enjoys car rides, and would be happiest in a home with a secure yard or where he's able to get out regularly for walks. He's already potty trained and crate trained and sleeps peacefully through the night in his crate. Pony Boy has really come out of his shell and is gentle meeting new people and showing off his true, sweet self. He is smart and is loving having dog trainers as his foster parents. Pony Boy is crate trained, walks well on leash and is learning tricks and new commands daily. They did a DNA test and confirmed he is 50% pit bull and 50% doberman pincher. On walks, Chance greets all of our neighbors with enthusiasm and tail wags, shouts and murmurs of enthusiasm! He is house trained, a great sleeper through the night, and doesn't chew on furniture! He has been very calm, patient and loving with children as well! Chance would do well in a single-pet household that can give him lots of affection, exercise and a steady routine. He seems to be territorial about sharing his indoor space with other dogs, even though he is super friendly when out on walks. He has great endurance for walking and running. He is laughably terrible at playing fetch but still loves to run around and play. Chance is quick to learn and has picked up a new trick in just a few days with us! He would be a champ with a little obedience training. Chance is eager to please, loves praise, and is very treat motivated. He has big puppy energy and a big loving heart.
