A gentle giant with exceptionally long legs, this Doberman Pointer mix is a splendiferous hound who likes walks, runs, hikes, dogs of all sizes, humans of all faiths, children, and stairs. He can reduce you to blissful rubble by placing his elegant snout on your knee and staring into your heart. Stare back and let the adventure begin. Here's some notes from his foster: Jerry is a dream come true. He is incredibly warm and friendly to everyone he meets. He loves to carry a stuffed toy in his mouth and wouldn't dare shred it to pieces. He has manners, no begging from Jerry! When I've left him at home alone for short stints I find him right on his bed where I left him. He is house trained :) He loves a long walk or even a jog! I think Jerry would love to have a backyard and possibly some doggie siblings. He does need training on the leash and can be reactive if provoked, but with a little patience and training he will be just fine. He is a big boy so be prepared to use your muscles while he's on the leash. He is a big cuddle bug and loves to sleep in the big bed with me.

Miniature Pinscher / Terrier Mix Age: 5-6 yrs old Male, neutered 16 lbs Adoption Fee: $125 (includes spay/neuter, microchip, vaccinations) Murphy was found abandoned on the streets of Newark. He was in pretty bad shape - neglected, possibly abused, skin issues, matted fur, etc. At the shelter he was shutdown, fearful, untrusting. The Tri-City Fremont Shelter reached out to us for help. Murphy is an interesting / complex little guy. He is constantly seeking attention from humans (any human that will pet him). At the same time, he will occasionally give signals that would make someone think that he doesn’t want attention. He walks well on a leash. He is unsure about some types of handling, but our experienced foster home has been able to put a harness on him, pick him up, bath him, etc. But it takes time for him to trust someone before he is comfortable. He does well with other dogs, and he has been in a foster home with cats, birds, chickens, reptiles. Even though his appearance screams “Yorkie” or “Norfolk Terrier,” his DNA results show mostly Miniature Pinscher and Jack Russell Terrier. We have no idea where his long silky fur came from. Murphy needs a forever home that will give him the time and patience to continue learning to trust humans again. He needs an experienced, confident adopter that can read his mood and interact with him accordingly. Please note that we don’t adopt any of our dogs out to homes with children under the age of 13, However, in Murphy’s case - an adult home only.
