Story
Kylo will be two in August. We required him from a breeder near our home. He’s a sweetheart and his behavior has changed in particular toward our other dog since he was fixed in March. We would describe him as curious, loving, and protective. In a new home, we are looking for a loving environment.

Story
Presley is a beautiful, smart, young Doberman that needs a strong leader to help him learn boundaries and gain confidence. He is around 80lbs, tall, and stately, everything you would expect from this breed. He is connected to his person and wants nothing more than to be by your side. But food is a very close second. He was very underweight when he came to his foster, so he might get more relaxed about his food once he feels more secure about it.  He will need an experienced handler, someone willing to give him the time and space he needs to decompress, and preferably someone familiar with the breed. He takes direction well and like a lot of Dobermans, is sensitive to correction. He can be pushy around food and other things that he wants or does not want to do, so he needs a gentle but firm leader with structure and clear boundaries. This will be crucial especially during his decompression time. He will need time to feel safe and trusting in his new home, but once he does, he will be relaxed, goofy, and playful. He has a very strong prey drive so he will need a home without cats or other small animals. He has been sharing space with a smaller female dog, but due to his need for decompression time, it would be best if he was the only dog until he has relaxed and gained more confidence. Outside, he will initiate play and will play with other dogs along the fence line. Out on walks, he has no reaction to other dogs or other people and can be very sweet with strangers. Inside the house, he is still working on being relaxed with strangers or other dogs coming and going. He would do best with a quiet house with little traffic until he gets better at this. We recommend a house with no kids. When he came into his foster home, he was very scared of things like stairs and bare floors, but after about a week of being exposed to them, he had no issues. There may be other things that he was never exposed to that he may be afraid of but seeing how he overcame his fears with time, he will be able to overcome anything that may come up. He has the cutest low howl when he hears a fire truck. He is house trained and crate training. He loves sleeping in his kennel and goes right to it. He also loves sitting outside and patrolling the property. He would do really well at home with acreage and will excel at any kind of scent and prey work. As a working guardian breed, once he knows what is expected of him, he will most likely excel at his job. He is not yet neutered and will be neutered through the rescue. Overall, Presley is a young dog that is still learning how to trust people and needs guidance. He is strong but sensitive and would love to be by your side being pet all day. And while we don’t know his history, he definitely deserves all the pets. Presley is being fostered in Portland, OR. Adoption fee $500To apply, visit www.northwestwagrescue.org ##1653955##

Needs experienced adopter,
Story
Sweet as can be Ranger will be in the Northwest in a couple of days and his foster fell through. We are urgently looking for another foster home for approx 4wks, until we can get him neutered. He will then be available for adoption. His foster home will have first option to adopt. Ranger is almost 6 months old and he currently weighs 45lbs. He is a very friendly boy that loves everyone he meets so a socially active home would be ideal. He also loves to play with other dogs so a doggie playmate or two in the home would also be great, although it’s not required. Ranger does still need some basic training, but he’s very treat motivated and so eager to please, he’ll be a model k9 citizen in no time! He would love to have a stay at home or work from home person that also has plenty of time and affection to give this darling boy. He must have a 6ft securely fenced yard. He is crate trained and needs only a little more help to be fully house trained. During foster, all supplies are provided.
