Story
Kylo will be two in August. We required him from a breeder near our home. He’s a sweetheart and his behavior has changed in particular toward our other dog since he was fixed in March. We would describe him as curious, loving, and protective. In a new home, we are looking for a loving environment.

Story
Presley is a beautiful, smart, young Doberman that needs a strong leader to help him learn boundaries and gain confidence. He is around 80lbs, tall, and stately, everything you would expect from this breed. He is connected to his person and wants nothing more than to be by your side. But food is a very close second. He was very underweight when he came to his foster, so he might get more relaxed about his food once he feels more secure about it.  He will need an experienced handler, someone willing to give him the time and space he needs to decompress, and preferably someone familiar with the breed. He takes direction well and like a lot of Dobermans, is sensitive to correction. He can be pushy around food and other things that he wants or does not want to do, so he needs a gentle but firm leader with structure and clear boundaries. This will be crucial especially during his decompression time. He will need time to feel safe and trusting in his new home, but once he does, he will be relaxed, goofy, and playful. He has a very strong prey drive so he will need a home without cats or other small animals. He has been sharing space with a smaller female dog, but due to his need for decompression time, it would be best if he was the only dog until he has relaxed and gained more confidence. Outside, he will initiate play and will play with other dogs along the fence line. Out on walks, he has no reaction to other dogs or other people and can be very sweet with strangers. Inside the house, he is still working on being relaxed with strangers or other dogs coming and going. He would do best with a quiet house with little traffic until he gets better at this. We recommend a house with no kids. When he came into his foster home, he was very scared of things like stairs and bare floors, but after about a week of being exposed to them, he had no issues. There may be other things that he was never exposed to that he may be afraid of but seeing how he overcame his fears with time, he will be able to overcome anything that may come up. He has the cutest low howl when he hears a fire truck. He is house trained and crate training. He loves sleeping in his kennel and goes right to it. He also loves sitting outside and patrolling the property. He would do really well at home with acreage and will excel at any kind of scent and prey work. As a working guardian breed, once he knows what is expected of him, he will most likely excel at his job. He is not yet neutered and will be neutered through the rescue. Overall, Presley is a young dog that is still learning how to trust people and needs guidance. He is strong but sensitive and would love to be by your side being pet all day. And while we don’t know his history, he definitely deserves all the pets. Presley is being fostered in Portland, OR. Adoption fee $500To apply, visit www.northwestwagrescue.org ##1653955##

Story
Look at Bruce! This boy came to us weighing just 58lbs! He has gained 6lbs and has been cleared to eat whatever he wants, (within reason). Bruce is looking for that person who can be home with him the majority of the time. He is anxious when left alone, and will bark. His anxiety is getting better, but definately a work in progress. Bruce will leap over baby gates to be with you, but is not an escape artist. He just wants a human who will never leave him! We are learning more about Bruce as he continues to gain weight and energy. Bruce is housetrained, good with other dogs, likes to ride in the car, and loves LOVES people. Bruce currently is fostered with cats and chickens.

Lex is in a foster home, and is currently not at the shelter. Please find info below on how to adopt - thanks!Lex is a sweet, adorable girl who can't wait to meet her forever family!Adopting a puppy is great fun, but puppies require a LOT of dedicated time for training and socialization, including exposure to many different situations. This means puppy classes, lots of daily exercise, playtime, attention, and ongoing training will be essential as this dog will be energetic and playful for many years to come. Puppies can't be left unattended for more than a couple of hours at a stretch in the first several months. A household or guardian who is ready to take on the challenges of housetraining, grooming, and making sure their new family member becomes a well-adjusted canine citizen is necessary. Please do some research on bringing up puppies before submitting an application for adoption. HOW TO ADOPT - Please fill out a Dog Adoption Application, available at http://www.seattle.gov/animalshelter/forms.htm and email it to the Seattle Animal Shelter Foster Dog Program at adoptionreview@gmail.com.IMPORTANT NOTE: Many of our dogs will receive numerous applications, and the Seattle Animal Shelter asks for your patience during the process of finding the very best match. If you have questions about this dog that have not been answered above, please contact us at adoptionreview@gmail.com. Hi, my name is Dexter and I would love to meet you. I have been at the shelter since May 17, 2023. Everyone calls me a “Goofball,” I’m not sure what that means but I know it has the word “ball” in it! Bringing a smile to my person’s face is what I do best and I’m ready to make every day as fun as I can. I think I’m the happy, funny pup for you!
