Hi there, My name is Cowgirl and I`m ready for my next adventure!I weigh 64.5 lbs and am considered a `large breed` dog.I am a very smart dog! At the shelter I am practicing how to `sit`, `stay`, `down`.I am an affectionate lovebug who LOVES to get belly rubs!!I am full of energy and I love to play! I tend to calm down more when the people around me stay calm. I do best when I have lots of exercise and something to keep my mind busy.I need an active house hold to help keep up with me!My caregivers have observed that I might not get along with other dogs. I may do best as the only dog in my new home, or I may need a very slow introduction to other dogs.I am a spirited dog with a fun-loving personality! I am still working on my manners, so I would do best with a family who is willing to work with me and help me become the best dog I can be!You can visit me at the Pet Adoption Center on weekdays from 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm, Saturdays and Sundays from 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Please go to our website for all specific information about this dog.  Our info doesn't transfer over to the adoption sites.  Auggie came to us from a shelter as a nearly 6 month old who was emaciated, barely able to stand and walk weighing 27 pounds.  He had several sets of labs done and nothing indicated a medical reason for his poor condition so it was pure starvation.  He's made a complete recovery and weighs a healthy 64 pounds now!   He is a young teenager and now that he's healthy, he's active and still doesn't realize his size.  So we are saying no kids or they must be savvy teenagers.   He walks on leash but has recently started to pull some.  He's great with crate training.  He will bark when it's time to eat or he needs to potty.  We've been trying to wean him off the very high end foods he's been on to get healthy but it's been a very slow transition.  Ideally, his new family can keep him on Orijin, Acana or alike food for optimum health.   Prior to adoption, our dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, micro-chipped and parasite treated/prevented.   Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.January 12, 2026, 6:05 pm
