Story
*Sheena is on a sleepover!*Meet the adorable Sheena! Sheena is a young, energetic lady looking for love, adventure and lots of treats! While she can be a little cautious when meeting new people, especially men, or exploring new environments, she won`t be able to resist pets for long. With only a few moments of allowing her to warm up, she`ll be right by your side asking for scratches!Sheena arrived with her sister Evelyn and has lived with other dogs before. She may enjoy having a canine companion in her future home who can show her the ropes. Other animals, like cats, would be new to her, so introductions should be done slowly if you`ve got other furry creatures at home! This affectionate pup is still learning new things, and is highly motivated by affection! Training will be easy as long as she is rewarded with cuddles and tasty snacks. She also has a playful puppy side and enjoys keeping busy with fun toys, especially a good chewable. Her zoomies are very impressive and her need for speed will surely keep you on your toes, especially if she`s not ready to go inside yet! Sheena is everything good with a touch of the sillies once you really get to know her. If you want your days to be filled with love, laughter and little personal space, Sheena`s got you covered.Sheena is:- unknown with kids, interactions should be supervised by an adult- unknown with cats & small animals, introductions should be done slowly- open to other dogs pending successful intro

Story
Meet Muskwa, a big, bouncy adolescent pup whose name means `bear` in Cree! This Husky Shepherd mix is full of energy and is looking for an active home that can keep both his body and brain busy. Enrichment, exercise, and tons of rewards will help him continue to grow into the most wonderful dog!Like many young pups, Muskwa is still learning his manners, especially keeping “four on the floor” and using more polite ways to communicate than his mouth. He’s working on bite inhibition and will need adopters committed to positive reinforcement and redirection as he grows into his best self. He is very treat and toy motivated, so make sure your treat pouch and ball collection never run dry!Muskwa has lived with children before, but due to his size and excitement, he’d do best with older kids. He has also successfully lived with a cat and may do well with another dog, as he’s had positive social experiences with them in the past. He can be a bit wary of new people and touch at first, especially with men, but will quickly lean in for full-body pets and brushing. Muskwa is eager to please and eager to learn, but just needs some help getting there! We do know that he’s good in the car, sleeps well through the night, knows a few basic commands and did great with house training in his former foster home, and will have more skills down pat in no time! If you are open to sharing your home and heart with a big, goofy teddy bear, Muskwa might be your guy!Muskwa is:- open to older kids- open to cats, slow intros required- open to dogs pending successful intro

Story
*Arwen has started the adoption process!**Arwen is scheduled for her spay surgery on May 5th. She can`t go home until the 6th, but is still available for visits!*Introducing the lovely Arwen - a new shelter arrival and immediate staff and volunteer favourite! This young lady is a treat to have, and is sure to make a fantastic addition to almost any home! Arwen lives up to her breed standard with her super friendly demeanor, intelligent brain and fun, playful energy. Arwen is still very much a puppy at heart and would love a home that can offer her daily exercise, enriching activities, and positive training opportunities to help her continue learning and growing. Keeping both her body and brain busy will ensure that she is all about cuddles and peaceful slumber at the end of her days. She is highly food motivated, already knows several basic commands, and was completely house trained in her previous home! Arwen enjoys meeting other dogs and is generally friendly, though she can be a bit nervous around bigger, louder pups. She has not lived with cats, so slow introductions are recommended. Because she is still learning about her size and personal space, older, dog-savvy children would be the best match. She does love children, but has not quite realized her strength around the little ones! There are so many good things to say about Arwen, and if you haven`t already fallen in love, you`ll be head over heels when you meet her! We know this sweetie won`t last long, so what are you waiting for?Arwen is:- good with kids, 10+ recommended- unknown with cats, slow intros required- open to dogs pending successful intro

Story
Meet the adorable Dewie! Dewie’s shelter story started after being found on the Trans Canada Highway, but he’s ready to leave that chapter behind and start a new one full of safety, security and love. This enthusiastic, people-loving boy is enjoying being cared for and no longer has to worry about when his next meal will be (or his next walk!).Dewie is still learning the ropes of home life, but he’s highly motivated by toys and treats! Using these rewards for continued positive reinforcement training will help teach him some much-needed life skills, doggy manners and confidence! An active pup, Dewie is looking for a home that can keep up with his energy and help guide him through the puppy-like behaviours he never had a chance to grow out of. He’d do best with an experienced family and without young children. In shelter, Dewie has shown reactivity towards other dogs, and we are not sure how he`d do with cats or small animals. If you have a calm, confident resident pup who could help Dewie `dog`, the shelter staff would be happy to try a dog introduction here! If you have a feline friend, slow intros should be done at home under close supervision.Life may be new to Dewie, but he’s embracing it with a smile on his face (seriously, look at it!) and he’s ready to learn what it means to be a cherished companion. Could that be with you?Dewie is:- unknown with kids, older kids (13+) recommended- unknown with cats or small animals, slow intros with supervision required- dog reactive, potential for other dog in home pending successful intro
