Story
Oreo is a 3-year-old male Border Collie/Jindo mix who was rescued from a shelter just before he was scheduled for euthanasia. Sadly, and for unknown reasons, before finding himself abandoned and alone at the shelter, his teeth had been deliberately ground down. Amazingly and despite this, he remains a lively, energetic, and otherwise healthy dog who is remarkably intelligent, craves human interaction, and is very loyal to his guardian. Oreo has the exceptional intelligence typical of Border Collies, fully understanding various commands such as "sit," "wait," and "house." He is also deeply loyal to his guardian and has a strong capacity for forming deep bonds typical of the Jindo breed. He is truly a remarkable dog who has the capacity to grow into an even more amazing companion through continued obedience training and by establishing a trusting relationship with his guardian. Oreo is incredibly affectionate and loves people. He is also very social and gets along well with other dogs. However, he has a habit of jumping when excited, which requires caution when a person is interacting with him in a low position. With consistent training, this behavior can be corrected. Being highly energetic, Oreo possesses excellent jumping ability. At the training center, he has been known to leap over fences—not out of a desire to escape, but due to his curiosity and strong attachment to his guardian. In fact, he has demonstrated behavior where he jumps over a fence when he hears his guardian's voice outside, only to return shortly after. For this reason, families with yards should ensure proper supervision, and a high-fenced environment may be more suitable. The Ideal Family for Oreo is: ✔️ Someone who understands the high intelligence and energy levels of Border Collies, the exceptional loyalty of Jindos, and can provide sufficient mental and physical stimulation ✔️ Someone with experience in training or handling large dogs ✔️ Someone who values bonding with their dog and is ready to build a deep connection ✔️ Someone who can provide ample space for Oreo to move and exercise freely Despite his heartbreaking past, Oreo still loves people and finds his greatest happiness in being with his guardian. With so much intelligence and energy, he has limitless potential to become the perfect lifelong companion if he meets the right family, one that understands him and is ready to provide him with love, care, and proper training. Oreo is waiting for his new family! ❤️

Story
Willow was a Christmas foster fail for our family in 2018. She has been with us since she was 4 months old. We brought her into a home with 3 other dogs and 3 cats, and 2 children. While everything went well for a few months, when she was about 9 months old she started displaying aggression towards our oldest dog. She also became more aggressive around strange dogs, however if handled properly walks, hikes, camping, etc were never a concern. Willow is a 7 year old female rescue, she is incredibly smart, maintains eye contact as she awaits her commands, she is calm and low energy, walks well on the leash, and is very respectful of people. Willow would do best in a home where she is the only pet and therefore does not need to fight for her place. She would also benefit from an experienced handler who can keep her close and under control when on walks, hikes, etc. Willow is a very loyal companion, she will lay by you endlessly, and always be by your side wherever you are.

Curious, playful, friendly, affectionate little puppies Stay tuned while we prepare their bios. Puppies must be picked up in Calgary area. If interested, please visit our website and fill out an application at http://www.nobordersanimalrescuesociety.ca/adoption-form-2/ Adoption fee $800 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- No Borders Animal Rescue Society (NOBARS) We are a registered non profit society. All our dogs are vaccinated, sterilized and are fostered in homes with families. NOBARS believes that a dog is best assessed for a new home environment by living in one!!!! Therefore we do not use kennels, but have a network of approved foster homes where our dogs can be properly assessed before being offered for rehoming. Our foster homes offer a varied range of experiences which means we can choose an appropriate foster home for each dog, but it also means our dogs are able to experience situations which are invaluable to owners looking to take on a new forever friend, such as children, cats and other dogs. http://www.facebook.com/NOBARSRESCUE?ref=hl http://www.nobordersanimalrescuesociety.ca Adoption fee $800

Story
2.5 year old Husky cross Palomo is looking for his perfect home. Palomo has had a hard start in life – wandering with his mum and siblings as a puppy to survive on food scraps, then survived a hurricane and now awaits a real life from the SPCA PV sanctuary. Palomo is a stunning boy who would like a home with outdoor space as he hasn’t been a city dog – though he walks past cars and trucks and even cows without much fuss. Palomo is playful but selective about his dog friends, and visits cats regularly (sometimes with a bit of zeal). He likes cuddles (though doesn’t always want to be rushed by strangers). He is a smart boy who we’d love to see wandering or running free in a big Canadian space! Palomo weighs 50lbs, is neutered, healthy and vaccinated. If you think you might be his chance at a family, or foster along the way, we’d love to hear from you at pvcaadoptions@gmail.com. Please check your junk mail for our response.

Story
4 year old Lola is a survivor. She was pregnant and living on the side of a river, and surviving from scraps from a stranger. Eventually a kind stranger managed to get her and her puppies into shelter. Lola is a beautiful Mexican special mix – her pups look like small black labs – she may be a shepherd x terrier x lab mix. She’s her own mix of very special girl. Lola is lower energy, but spins in excitement if you might be so kind to toss her a ball, or when her dinner is ready. Check her out here: https://www.instagram.com/pvcaanimalrescue/reel/DR-vk8YksCo/ Lola is careful with strangers at first but also VERY affectionate. Lola isn’t keen to go far – she prefers the safety of the sanctuary – perhaps worried she may be dumped again. She is looking for a quiet loving home. She is healthy, spayed and vaccinated. If you think you might be a fit, we’d love to hear from you at pvcaadoptions@gmail.com. Please check your junk mail for our response.
