Story
This beautiful blue eyed boy showed up at our acreage a few weeks ago and as it turns out, he came to us from a neighbor who could no longer keep him.He is an incredibly smart, affectionate, and trainable young dog who loves people, other dogs and belly rubs!He is just over 1 year old and we were told he is a purebred Siberian Husky. While he is agile and athletic, he seems pretty laid back for a Husky and not too high energy.Although we would have loved to keep him, he does have the high Husky prey drive and because we live with cats, we have made the decision that the responsible thing to do is find him a home where he can be successful. He has mostly been an outdoor dog and knows and respects boundary collars very well. We bring him indoors too which he loves and has only had one accident in the house. He enjoys playing with other dogs, adores people, is great with kids and has a high willingness to try to please. Let me know if you'd like to arrange a meeting with this stunning cutie

Story
Bolt is available through our `Adopt From a Foster Home` program. If you are interested in scheduling a meeting, please fill out the request form here: Adopt From Foster Form. Please do not make an appointment through our online booking calendar, as he is not available to meet on site.Bolt is a big personality in a very handsome package! This energetic, toy-loving guy is always ready for action, whether that means a spirited game of tug, chasing toys around the house, or showing off his adorable vocal “commentary” while he plays. He’s incredibly affectionate with the people he trusts and absolutely loves snuggling up for cuddles and brushing sessions after a busy day.In the home, Bolt has shown himself to be quite content and has settled nicely with his foster family. He has done well being left alone for short periods and enjoys spending time close to his people. He’s smart, knows his name, has great recall, and forms strong bonds with the humans in his circle.Bolt would benefit from a family that can provide him lots of structure and understanding as he navigates his new life! A family that can help him direct his excitable energy into appropriate channels and help him learn his best leash manners would be ideal!Bolt is also a dog who will need understanding, structure, and ongoing support from his future family. He is a very high-energy dog who can become easily overstimulated, especially around toys and during exciting situations. Sometimes his enthusiasm can come across as intimidating — he may bark loudly, jump up, or become very fixated on toys during play. His foster family found that calm voices, slow movements, and clear boundaries helped him settle and make better choices.Bolt is looking for an active, experienced home that will embrace both his lovable quirks and his challenges. With the right people beside him, this playful, snuggly, larger-than-life dog has so much potential to shine.A little bit about Bolt: - Kids: Can live with older kids, preferably 10 years and older! All interactions must be actively supervised by an adult.- Cats/Small Animals: no cats; potential for cats in future- Dogs: Potential for another medium/large dog, pending a successful dog-to-dog interaction.- Detached housing preferred

Story
Kojo has started the adoption process and is on a patient paw sleepover!Kojo may be small, but he has a huge personality packed into his tiny frame! This adorable little guy is full of charm, loves being close to his people, and is happiest when he’s curled up beside you for a cuddle or watching the world go by from a cozy window perch. He’s affectionate, clever, and has a playful side that shines when he’s outside enjoying the snow or playing a game of catch.Kojo bonds quickly with his people and loves physical affection once he feels comfortable. He enjoys being carried around, sleeps happily in his bed beside his humans at night, and has shown that he’s a smart little dog who responds well to routine and consistency. He’s already learning new skills like “sit” and responds very well to his name.Kojo is looking for a home that can respect his space and boundaries and allow him lots of room to decompress as needed! A home that can help him learn the best potty-training practices and give him a calm, quiet environment would be ideal!Kojo would thrive in a calm, patient home that appreciates his quirky personality and is committed to helping him continue building confidence through positive reinforcement training. In return, his future family will get a cuddly, entertaining little companion with tons of character, lots of love to give, and an impressive talent for stealing the best spot on the couch.A little bit about Kojo:-Kids: Older kids, or those that are dog savvy and can respect his space are recommended. All interactions should be closely supervised by an adult. -Cats/Small Animals: Has shown some fear based reactions towards cats. May do best with no cats in home. All introductions to cats/small animals should be done very slowly with heavy supervision.-Dogs: Potential to live with another dog pending a successful dog-to-dog interaction.

Story
Layla is a striking, sensitive dog who is beginning her journey toward understanding what life in a home can look like. She is currently looking for a very patient, experienced adopter who can help her continue building confidence at her own pace.In the shelter environment, Layla has shown that she can be cautious and slow to warm up to new people and situations. She has had moments where she prefers space and needs time to process what is happening around her, especially in busy or unfamiliar settings. At times, when feeling overwhelmed, she may communicate her discomfort through clear body language and a need for distance.Once given the opportunity to move at her own speed, Layla has shown that she can engage with her environment and explore more comfortably, especially when she feels safe and unpressured. Layla will do best in a calm home that understands canine body language and give her the time and space she needs to blossom into the best version of herself!A little bit about Layla:- no history with kids, 15+ only- limited history with cats, slow intros required- no dogs in home

Story
Old Mrs. Figg is available through our `Adopt From a Foster Home` program. If you are interested in scheduling a meeting, please fill out the request form here: Adopt From Foster Form. Please do not make an appointment through our online booking calendar, as she is not available to meet on site.Old Mrs. Figg may not have any teeth left, but she still has plenty of love to give! Named after the quirky Harry Potter character, this sweet senior Pomeranian somehow found herself wandering as a stray in her golden years. Now, she`s hoping for her next chapter to be filled with love, cuddles and cozy napping spots!Mrs. Figg is quite fearful in the loud, unpredictable shelter, but she is quick to come out of her shell when she`s in a calm, quiet home. During her stays with staff, she proved herself to be house trained (only the occasional accident), laidback, and an excellent house guest! She has done very well in the company of other senior, low-energy dogs and may be able to coexist with a respectful cat. Young, loud children are probably a no-go, but Mrs. Figg could be okay with older, respectful kids who can watch her body language. She asks that you please do NOT pick her up as snuggles are meant to be shared on the ground where she is most comfortable. At her age, regular veterinary care will be important. She is suspected to have early kidney disease and her future adopters should be prepared for frequent vet visits and repeat bloodwork every 3-6 months to watch for progression of this chronic condition. This means that she may also require medication and/or a special diet in the future to keep her as happy and healthy as possible. After her mysterious history of adventures, all Mrs. Figg wants now is a quiet place to rest her paws and a family to love and cherish her for the rest of her life. Can that be with you? Old Mrs. Figg is:- unknown with kids, older may be better- unknown with cats, slow intros required- open to other senior or respectful, low-energy dogs pending intros- early signs of kidney disease, will need regular vet care and bloodwork
