Story
Even though Duran is blind and deaf he is confident and warm. He is 9.5 yrs old and carries himself as a distinguished gentleman. He participates fully in the life of the family — following all by scent. Duran is a happy guy, and loves being around others. He quickly learned where the pet door is and goes through it at will. Duran is house broken and even though he did mark his territory before neuter, he hasn’t done so since. He did run into walls and things while learning his space, but now seamlessly navigates throughout the house and yard, and into his kennel where he likes his rests. He sleeps in kennel though he has protested twice so he might like to sleep on the big bed now. He currently eats in kennel as one of his foster fur brothers tries to steal his food, and him theirs. He’s a smart guy, quickly learns where things are. He is easily trainable — He has easily learned where he needs to step up and will slow down his approach on his walks. He has learned he isn’t allowed on the knee wall on the screen porch. He’s very devoted to his family, quickly forms bonds and has a great personality. Foster mom says he’s a precious boy! Duran has all of his vaccinations, is Heartworm tested and on monthly Heartworm and flea prevention, microchipped and neutered. He weighs 37 lbs. Adoption fee is $350. **Please apply to adopt at www.saveourcockerspaniels.org** SOCKS adopts to families in Florida, Georgia, Southern Alabama, and southeastern Mississippi. If you are out of the state of Florida, you would need to travel to Florida to complete your adoption. Please note that we do check vet references, and your current pets must be up to date on vaccinations, heartworm testing, and be able to provide proof of purchase of heartworm prevention. All dogs and cats in your home must be spayed or neutered. We will not set up a meet and greet until your application has been received, reviewed, and approved.  Adoptions are not done on a first come, first served basis. We will accept applications and then screen all and choose the best match. Only approved applicants will be contacted.

Story
Pork has been with us for a few years now and has had no adoption interest! She’s a chunky lil girl that is full of energy! She does well with other dogs her size but has not been around smaller dogs. She likes loving on the cats through the crates but has not been out with them. Pork was found running on highway 19 during a terrible thunderstorm. She had a skin infection and looked terrible. Thankfully she healed up nicely with some bravecto and medicated baths! She was HW+ and went through fast kill treatment. She has been on ivermectin monthly since. This girl needs a place to call her own. A home with no small children because she is a missile of energy! She would thrive in a home with another dog around her size that likes to play. A fenced yard is a must. If you think Pork would be a good fit for your home, please shoot us a message so we can get you our dog application! Located in lake city FL

Story
Izzie has been with us for a long time and deserves a home of her own. She does well with other dogs when properly introduced and she currently hangs out with Peas and Onion two of our hound dogs. She does have high prey drive so a home with no small animals is an absolute must. Before we got her, she lived in a yard. Her owners were moving and planned to leave her behind which made our old rescue partners take her and put her in my outdoor kennel while I was asleep. She is a super sweet dog. She loves attention and really just wants a home to call her own. She is crate trained and will not go in her crate. She is loud. She is a talker and she has the most high pitch scream that she lets out when she needs to go outside or if she sees the other dogs out. We do require a home with a fenced in yard. She does very well walking with a harness but she loves to play in the yard! I’m not sure how she would react to young children but older kids would probably be fine! If you’d like to meet Izzie, please message us for our dog adoption application! Located in lake city FL. She is spayed and her annuals are due this month but they will be done prior to adoption!

Story
Are you looking for a high energy but super sweet tripod to make your life better? We have her! Meet SweetTart! This adorable girl was found back in January by board member Kaitlyn at her job which is no place for a pup to be running around! She is estimated to be 2-3 years old! She weighs in at 54lbs Once she was lured out of the woods, she was absolutely terrified but knew we were there to help. We quickly realized that her front leg was basically one giant open wound with bone exposed. It was swollen, infected, and painful as all get up. Based on her sagging teets we think she was overbred and then dumped when injured. She has definitely had a lot of babies. But yet she wagged her tail and smiled at us. We got her to the vet where they said she needed the leg amputated ASAP. She was tested for heartworms and vaccinated that day as well. She is heartworm negative and UTD on vaccines. She had the leg amputated 4 days after her initial vet visit and oh my god you would think she still has all 4 legs! She is so fast it does not slow her down one bit! She loves to play and she stays close in the yard. She has pretty good leash manners but does pull a little bit when excited. She does good with other dogs and seems unbothered by cats. SweetTart was spayed yesterday and given a 3 years rabies vaccine! She will be looking for a forever home once she is healed up. SweetTart is with foster and is doing well with training. She would love to be your new best friend!

Story
Banjo boy! This guy is an absolute hoot. This guy has only been with us for under a year but we really expected him to find placement easily because of his size and breed! Banjo is a typical hound dog. He’s extremely talkative, he loves to spend time outside, and he loves to dig holes and lay in them. He absolutely HATES being crated. A home where he wouldn’t need to be would be ideal. For being 5-6 years old, he has a ton of energy still! He does well with dogs that are his size. It took him a few days to get used to Puppy but he was never aggressive. He had a big talk but no bite. We cat tested him when he came in and he seems to do fine with them. He seemed kinda scared of them and just walked the other way. Banjo would be an amazing companion for anyone in my opinion. Maybe not with younger kids but aside from that he’s really great! He loves to spend time on the couch with you and when he’s outside he loves to play chase! A home with a fenced yard is required and no apartment homes because he is LOUD. If you don’t like loud dogs, run the other way. If you think banjo would be a good fit for your home, please shoot us a dm so we can get you our dog application! Located in lake city FL.

Story
Coco came to us about a week and a half ago. She is blind and I would say she is probably close to a year old. They said that the person who took her in before had her spade. So i'm assuming she had her shots at the same time. Coco is potty trained and does well in a fenced backyard. She has been around cats, dogs, young children, adults and does very well. Also , chickens. We are working on Her to not jump. However, that is the way she communicates.Since she is blind , but we cannot have that so I am working on her to stay down. She is used to staying indoors and outdoors. She stays indoors at night. She is a very sweet dog and once to love on everyone. I have too many animals or I would keep her myself.I cannot afford to feed another dog and provide flea and heart worm care. Please, if you would like to meet her, let me know.I can bring her to you and your family or you can come here. I live in High Springs, Florida. Thank you for reading.
