Story
Hi, I’m Violet, a 12-year-old, 10-pound, Miniature Poodle mix who is looking for a quiet, loving home to match my own personality. Though I’m a little reserved and independent, I love to be in the same room as my person, quietly taking in the daily activity of the household. I also love to meet new people, which I do without any barking or fuss. I’m a loyal and low-key companion who is ready to settle in a safe place.
Favorite Things: Violet is a sweet senior girl with a quiet, gentle demeanor. She is a bit reserved but wants to be in the same room as her person. She loves to eat and is very motivated by food. She also likes to meet new people but isn't interested in toys. And this shy little lady is not a fan of thunderstorms!
Training & Manners: Violet is housetrained in her foster home where she is let out on a regular schedule. She has lovely house manners and walks well on a leash. She tolerates a car ride and sleeps in her dog bed at night.
Health & Care: Violet is spayed, up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative, microchipped, and recently had her teeth polished. She’ll just need her monthly flea and heartworm preventatives, like any pup. As a poodle mix, Violet will need professional grooming every 8-12 weeks to keep her looking and feeling her best.
Other Animals: Violet has experience with other small, laid-back dogs and does fine with them. She has not been tested with cats, but her foster mom thinks she would do fine.
Children: This sweet girl will do fine with older, gentle, respectful children. She is shy and uncomfortable with being handled too quickly or unexpectedly.
Ideal Home: Lovely Violet will do fine in an apartment, condo, townhouse or single home. She’s an independent girl and can be left alone in the home in a secure space without issues.
Overall: If you are looking for a gentle, mellow senior companion with lots of love to give, Violet might be the one for you. If you think she might be, visit www.PoodleandPoochRescue.org to fill out an adoption application. If it seems like it could be a good match, her foster family will reach out with more information. The adoption donation is $200.
