Story
This sweet 6-year-old, 15-pound survivor is finally ready for her forever home! After spending her early years as a street dog in Puerto Rico and raising multiple litters, she’s getting her first real chance to simply be someone’s cherished companion. Despite her rough past and a few physical challenges — she’s missing one eye and has some old injuries to her back legs — she gets around wonderfully. She walks well on a leash, is fully potty trained, and is picking up basic commands quickly (especially when snacks are involved!). You’d never guess she once lived on the streets. She’s taken to indoor life like a natural! Her ideal day includes cozy naps, gentle strolls, and plenty of snuggles. She’s an excellent house companion and loves curling up beside her person for pets and affection. She’s even starting to enjoy toys! Once she feels comfortable, she becomes the sweetest cuddle bug. She does well with both cats and dogs after a proper introduction, and she’s now spayed, vaccinated, and heartworm negative. She’s looking for: An experienced dog owner who understands she’ll need a little time to adjust A calm, loving home where she can feel safe A home with teenage children or older This resilient girl has overcome so much and has endless love to give. Could you be her perfect match? ##2261099##

Story
***Local adoption only: Mabel Jr. needs to be adopted by a family in the Central Florida region (Orlando area) who will commit to taking her to her follow-up vetting appointments for remaining vaccines and spay with PPR's vetting partner. These appointments have already been scheduled and their cost is covered in the adoption donation.*** Hi, I’m Mabel Jr.! Don't let the "Jr." fool you, I'm ALL girl! I’m a 3 month old Poodle puppy with a sweet and curious nature. I was named after my momma, who weighs 55 pounds. My adult size is still a surprise, but I’m already bursting with joy and enthusiasm! Favorite Things: Mabel Jr. loves discovering new toys and snuggling with her family. She’s playful and energetic, yet knows how to slow down for sweet, affectionate moments. Training & Manners: This cutie is pad-trained, does great when let outside regularly, and loves car rides. She can roam the house responsibly for hours, is quickly picking up leash skills, and already knows her basic commands. At night, she settles quietly in her secure space, showing off her gentle manners; never a barker, always a delight. Health & Care: Mabel Jr. is a happy dog! Like all dogs, she requires monthly flea and heartworm preventatives and regular grooming for her adorable curly Poodle coat. She might need eye surgery for her flipped eyelids, and a hernia repair that will be done when she is spayed. To ensure she gets the best follow up care, she will need a family in the Central Florida region (Orlando area) who can commit to taking her to her final puppy vetting appointments and spay. These have already been scheduled with PPR's vetting partner and their cost is covered in her adoption donation. Other Animals: Mable Jr. may be very independent and enjoy running the show, but this little boss lady is also a delight who loves to socialize! She gets along wonderfully with dogs of every size. She hasn’t met cats in a formal setting, but her easygoing curiosity makes her likely to get along. Children: Loving and spirited, she gets along wonderfully with kids of any age. Ideal Home: She’ll thrive in a singlefamily home, ideally with a fenced yard for her zoomies and playtime. While a fence is preferred, it’s not required; as long as she gets regular outdoor time. Overall: Mabel Jr. is a bright, confident pup who loves her "me time" but is always ready to mix in plenty of cuddles. Treatmotivated and eager to learn, she blends intelligence, enthusiasm, and calmness; making her an ideal lifelong companion for a family ready to guide her growth. Is Mabel Jr. the one for you? Then visit www.PoodleandPoochRescue.org to fill out an adoption application. If it seems like it could be a good match, her foster family will reach out with more information. Her adoption donation is $650. ##2518025##

Story
LOOKING FOR FOSTER OR ADOPTER!  Hi there! Ducky is my name, and having FUN is my game. I’m a 7-month-old hound blend who weighs 33 lbs.  I'm figuring out this great big world, and doing it with a wagging tail and a goofy grin. I love to bounce, wiggle, snuggle, and I’m always ready to make new friends.  In a nutshell . . . I am feeling just Ducky!  Favorite Things: Ducky’s biggest joy is toys! He never met a squeaky or tug rope he didn’t love and greets each one with boundless enthusiasm. He also adores car rides, sitting happily as if every trip is an adventure. At night he curls up in his dog bed, content and warm after a day of play and friendship. Training and Manners: Though still mastering house training, Ducky’s eagerness to please makes progress endearing. He already shows good basic manners, walks nicely on leash, sleeps soundly in his bed, and has a moderate activity level—playful but able to settle. He’s confident and calm, which makes him a consistently joyful sidekick. Health and Care: This healthy, neutered boy is up to date on his vaccines, microchipped and heartworm negative. Like any pup, he’ll need monthly heartworm and flea prevention, along with regular baths and nail trims to keep him looking and feeling his best.   Other Animals: Ducky is a social butterfly with dogs of all sizes and enjoys regular playdates. While he hasn’t yet been tested with cats, his foster suggests he could adapt well to feline friends.   Children: This affectionate pup is wonderful with children of all ages. His gentle demeanor and playful spirit make him a perfect match for families, and he’s patient enough to handle the energy of little ones.   Ideal Home: Ducky will thrive in a single-family home with a secure, fenced yard where he can run and explore safely. Because he’s a clever hound with an impressive leap, a taller fence would be ideal to keep his adventures contained. He would do best with someone who is home often to help him continue learning and to enjoy his company.   Overall: Ducky is playful, sweet, and loves interacting with dogs of all sizes. His affectionate, goofy personality makes him a true “wiggle-butt” who spreads joy wherever he goes. With his confidence, curiosity, and snuggly nature, Ducky is ready to waddle his way into the heart of a family who will cherish his quirks and celebrate his boundless enthusiasm.   Could Ducky be your guy? Then visit our website www.PoodleandPoochRescue.org, where you’ll find the application to adopt. You’ll be put in contact with his foster family for more information if it’s a potential match. His adoption donation is $450. ##2523151##

Story
Cove is such a sweet, playful and has been a blessing to our family. She came to me as a very young rescue and while I’ve done extensive training with her, she is a shy dog by nature. Because of this she will do best in a home that can continue working on confidence building. Another friendly dog in the home is a bonus :). Once she is comfortable she is the sweetest (and biggest) lapdog. She’s house trained, crate trained, leash trained, dog and cat friendly, and knows her basic obedience. She is eager to learn, though in typical Great Dane fashion she is a very mellow girl, especially for her age. After a walk she is happy to sit with her Kong and take a nap. She loves her trips to PetSmart and being able to people watch and rides in the car calmly. She’s a smart girl with so much potential and I will be selective to ensure she goes to a loving home!
