Story
When Jeri and Meri were found, they were essentially feral. They were hiding under a shipping container they had adopted as their home. It is unknown how long they were living there, as the property was only visited by the owners sporadically. When the landowners found them, it took quite a while to coax them out into the open where they were eventually trapped. Both were very skinny, dehydrated and terrified of people. And both are still very wary and untrusting of new people and new situations.  On occasion, both dogs still nip their rescuers when they are stressed or excited.  This is not to say that they would not warm up to other people.  But it will take a "dog-savvy" person with great patience, love and a very calm, low activity home. Once the level of trust is earned, either Jeri or Meri would be a sweet companion and friend.  Meri and Jeri will NOT be good with seniors, children or cats because of their unpredictability and their terrier tendencies. They should probably be adopted separately in order to fully bond with the new owner(s). Jeri is neutered, vaccinated and on Heartworm preventative. Meri is spayed, vaccinated, and on Heartworm preventative. You can speak to his foster parents to learn more by calling 662-342-9448 or emailing: info@desotoanimalrescue.orgNovember 5, 2024, 6:38 pm

Story
River is a mixed breed dog that has favorable markings and body style of the Dane and Boxer however is small for those breeds. River weighs around 40 pounds however is under weight and should be around 55-60. She was found as a stray and taken to a vet for a brief evaluation and to check for a chip. She was found to be very under weight and not chipped. River is a courtesy listing and what follows is the information from the person who has her. River is soooo sweet, I never hear her bark. She hasn't jumped up on me. When in the car she sits down and stays there til it's time to get out. In the house hasn't tore up anything and could care less  it's a house full of cats Just walks right pass the cats.. Stopped to eat the cats food. I said no. And she instantly stopped. Very good dog. Not an old dog. But not a puppy. Major tail wagger.. Likes being inside the house. But is staying outside here. If you think you could love River and  provide and a great home for her please call. 901.461.7397August 18, 2025, 5:55 pm
