Story
Butter has been a smooth pal since we got the call to pick him up! He was in someone's backyard playing with the kids with out a care in the world. He just can't resist meeting a new person, and will quickly become your next velcro dog. When he went home for a couple nights with one of our ACOs, he followed her around anywhere and enjoyed sitting in the kitchen while yummy sweets were being made, but politely not trying to take any. It was clear he had a nice disposition. If you don't mind him missing an eye, i think he would be the perfect doggie for the kids to play with and house companion for those working from home or living alone. His favorite toys are stuffed animals he can tear up and chew gently. The only thing we would mention about training opportunities is that he is a bit possessive of his food. Let him eat in peace, and he is other wise fine with other dogs. If you would like to meet him, he would love to see you in our meet and greet room with his favorite toy. You'll be very happy you did! All animal adoptions are typically $80. For puppies and kittens under the age of 6 months, adoptions are $100. For dogs, this includes the first series of vaccinations, deworming, spay/neuter, heartworm testing and heartworm preventative. Story
To adopt please fill out an adoption Application  Very sweet and friendly!  Lola is a 5yo female pit bull terrier mix who was rescued just in time from the Memphis kill shelter. Gentle, sweet, friendly, well-socialized. Good with other dogs and living with 2 other dogs in her foster home. Not cat tested. Great with kids. Medium energy level outside, settles down quickly inside, quiet and well-mannered, low maintenance. Affectionate with her people and loves to cuddle. Crate trained and housebroken. Good on a leash, rides great in the car.  When she first came to us, Lola had heartworms but she was treated and cured and is now ready for adoption. Healthy and fully vetted, current on shots. Weighs about 55 pounds. Sweet, loving terrier mix will make a wonderful companion (and jogging partner!) for an active family who loves the breed. To adopt please fill out an adoption Application Contact us at reply@happydogrescue.org  visit us at http://www.happydogrescue.orgJanuary 23, 2026, 6:46 am

Story
Bam Bam is loads of fun! He has all the pupper energy you are looking to play with and he can't wait to follow you everywhere begging for attention. If you need another dog to play with your existing dog, he would love to! He needs to be watched and potty trained because shelter life and hours cannot give him the training and outside breaks he needs to learn. If you don't mind that, though, he really is a fun dog to have around and will keep you very active. But when he crashes, he will need a comfy spot to zonk out and looks so cute all curled up. He's been tried a couple times, but returned because of his puppy behavior. We believe he just hasn't found the right place yet where he belongs. All animal adoptions are typically $80. For puppies and kittens under the age of 6 months, adoptions are $100. For dogs, this includes the first series of vaccinations, deworming, spay/neuter, heartworm testing and heartworm preventative.
