Story
Meet Cisco, a 7-month-old mixed breed with a lot to offer and still waiting for his chance.Cisco came in as a stray from Polarville on 12/9 and was never reclaimed. Since then, he has been growing up in the shelter, waiting for someone to see him for who he is.He weighs 52 pounds and has a sleek black coat with white-tipped paws and a white chest. Cisco is a smart, affectionate dog with a gentle nature. He enjoys being around people, does well with kids, and gets along with other dogs. With proper introduction and guidance, he may also do well with cats.Cisco walks well on a leash, knows “sit,” and is attentive to his person, often checking in as you go. He is eager to learn and would benefit from continued training and structure in a home environment. He recently had the opportunity to go out on a day trip where he visited several local businesses, met new people, and handled the experience very well. He showed himself to be adaptable, social, and well-mannered outside of the shelter setting.Cisco is still young and full of potential. He is looking for a home where he can continue to grow, learn, and be part of a family. If you are searching for a loyal, smart, and affectionate companion, Cisco may be the perfect fit.

Story
Meet Clyde, a 2-year-old hound mix weighing 38 pounds, who is looking for a very special home.Clyde has special needs—he is blind—and we are seeking either a rescue partner or an experienced adopter willing to provide the care, patience, and understanding he deserves. Veterinary references are required, and preference will be given to those with experience caring for vision-impaired animals.Clyde came to us as a stray on January 13th alongside another hound. At first, he appeared to be a typical sweet and friendly dog with a few minor wounds, likely from time spent outdoors. In late January, he went into a cold-weather foster home, where he suddenly became very ill. He developed lethargy, vomiting, and bloody stool, and was quickly evaluated by our veterinarian. At that time, it was discovered that Clyde had lost his vision and had some hearing impairment. He underwent exploratory surgery the following day.During surgery, our veterinarian found severely inflamed intestines, a distended stomach that was not functioning properly, and ongoing gastrointestinal distress. While the exact cause may never be known, Clyde survived this life-threatening condition. He made a full recovery physically, but his vision did not return.Despite everything he has been through, Clyde remains calm, gentle, and incredibly trusting. He is house trained with a consistent schedule, walks well on a leash, and does well with other dogs, children, and likely cats. He enjoys being close to his people, playing, and continues to show a willingness to learn. He knows his name and basic commands such as “sit,” and would benefit from continued training and structure.Clyde would do best in a home with a calm environment, ideally with another steady dog, and adopters who understand the needs of a blind dog. With patience and consistency, he will continue to adapt and thrive. We will be very selective in placing Clyde to ensure he finds the right fit.If you believe you can provide Clyde with the safe, loving home he deserves, please contact us at 601-798-8000 for more information or to schedule a meet and greet.
