Story
I am currently Fostering Whoopie and Looking for his Forever Home. Whoopie is a 9-month-old, potty-trained puppy who already knows multiple commands and is eager to learn more. He is affectionate, friendly with people and other dogs, and loves to cuddle. He has an active, playful side but does very well settling down once he’s had proper exercise and mental enrichment. Whoopie forms strong bonds and is incredibly loyal. He is currently working through some separation anxiety, so he would thrive in a home where someone has the time and commitment to help him build confidence. Due to his size and puppy energy, a home without very young children would be ideal, though he is good with kids. Whoopie is a truly special dog and will make a loving, devoted companion for the right family.

Story
I got her from a breeder in Allentown, she is a healthy energetic husky which require a lot of attention and consistency, which I am afraid I cannot deliver. Arya is a 14 weeks old beatiful husky, she has heterochromia ( sky blue and light brown eyes) so as gorgeous as huskies can be. Her personality is vibrant, she has a really big character. Arya is considered to be potty trained for a puppy as long as you let her out every now and then, but she is yet not really house trained due to my busy schedule. If you have got any interest in adopting this beautiful puppy hit me up.

Story
Kenobi was rescued from the Harrisburg Humane Society where he was brought in as a stray. He is very friendly, loves belly-rubs and is very much a licker! He is estimated to be about 2 years old, definitely in his teen phase. Kenobi needs an active lifestyle and a home that will give him lots of space and time to run and play. He is highly energetic and loves a good round of tug of war. He is reactive (barking and sometimes lunging) at other dogs or small animals when on walks, but behaves appropriately when able to get close and interact with other animals. He is not aggressive or much of a barker beyond when he needs some attention or senses danger!

Story
Reese is a smart, independant cattle dog born on 8/8/19 who came to us from a farm in Kentucky. She has been the only pet in our home and spent her early years hiking, backpacking, and enjoying an active lifestyle. Reese loves long walks, freedom to explore, and thrives with structure and consistency. In 2021, she completed a 3-week stay-and-train program focused on leash manners and place/stay commands. She is loyal, driven, and a great companion the majority of the time. After welcoming our son in 2024, Reese has struggled to adjust to life with a young child. Because of this, we believe she would do best in an adult-only home without children or other pets. While she is a wonderful dog most of the time, her occasional unpredictability makes our home no longer the right fit. Reese would thrive with an experienced, heeler-savvy adopter who understands working breeds and can provide clear boundaries, exercise, and mental stimulation. She does have a bite history, details upon request.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Mr. Poppy This adorable little fella is a spitfire to say the least. He came from a hoarding situation with a lot of other dogs. When he came in he was petrified. We took in several dogs from this home and with each drop-off... they told us these were the last dogs in the home. The dogs were not handled much and he will still run from you if he feels threatened or knows you want to put him in his crate. He can be crated and should be when you are not home, but he really doesn't care for it. Mr. Poppy will require a home with at least one other smaller to medium sized pup or a home where his people are home more often than not. He prefers adults and is what we call our "Parrot dog". He is happy to be laying with you, in your lap, or lounging on your shoulder watching tv. He does currently sleep in bed with his foster mom and dad, so he will need a home where this is ok and furniture is not off-limits. We would suggest a home that is not extremely active as he is reactive to strangers when they first come into the home. He does not do well on car rides, so he will be happy to just hang out at the house with you, rather than going on trips to the store, etc. We are recommending no children under 15 for this little guy. He wants to be the only "kid" in the house. If having a companion who thinks you are his world is what you are looking for and are willing to deal with his limitations, then Mr. Poppy is your boy! When applying to adopt through ODAAT, please know that we take pride in placing our animals appropriately based on their needs and personality. We want the best family for them and the perfect fit for your family. All applications are ran prior to choosing an adopter... This process takes time and we do not adopt out on a "first come first served" basis. Applications are found on our website www.onedogatatime.us .   Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 3, 2024, 9:50 pm
