Hi there! My name is Blair and I was found in the City of Altoona as a stray and unfortunately, no one came to claim me. I am a sweet girl, but I am fearful and need a low traffic home with a family who will help to build my confidence and give me the reassurance that I need to realize that I am safe and loved. I will need an adult only home without other dogs, but I did test just fine with cats. I do have a bit of food possessive behavior, but this is easily managed by feeding me in my own space! Any visits with me do need to be scheduled in order to allow staff to provide me with the slow introductions I need in order to build trust. Please keep in mind that one visit will not be enough for me to be able to feel comfortable with anyone new and I will require multiple visits.If you think you have the time and can provide me with the proper environment, please feel free to submit an application for me or call in to speak with staff for more detail about me!

Once in a home, she is rather protective of her people. She will need structured greeting rituals to help her feel secure when meeting new people. She is an insecure lady when she is uncertain of something new. When she does know you, she wants nothing more than to climb on your lap like she weighs 5 lbs. She is very loose and wiggly wanting to play with you or with a toy. If you are not a confident dog handler, she will not be the dog for you. Lyla is looking for someone to show her that the world is not as threatening as she makes it out to be.
