Story
Ms Ruby is a wild puppy trapped in an adult dog body. She is a year old, almost 2. She was found roaming the country side in Tyrone. She is fully vaccinated and not yet spayed. She absolutely loves people. She cannot live with other animals. She enjoys being brushed and loved on. She seems rather confident at the shelter but when she went out on a canine cardio outing, she was rather fearful of new things. She was still her friendly self but you could tell she was scared. Due to her dislike towards other animals (as it has been shown to be intense) we recommend kids to be 10 years and older.

Story
Rayna is a 3 year old girly pop. She is a kangaroo in a compact body, so she will need a physical fence that is 6-7 ft plus or always monitored when outside on a long line (not to be confused with tying her up outside unattended). She did not assess well with other animals. We believe middle aged children 10-12 years and older would be more appropriate for her excitable behavior but can take it on a case-by-case basis. She loves to show off her tricks to her human friends so she is smart and quick to learn new things. PA Kennel License #1333.

Story
?? IMMEDIATE FOSTER OR ADOPTER NEEDED ??Monty is 3 years old. He came to us in need of medical care for a broken leg. The broken leg cannot heal because he keeps breaking or ripping the cast off. His neuter surgery is also healing poorly because he does not want to be calm to allow himself to feel better. The shelter environment is making this a challenge. We are looking for a home without other animals. He has not been assessed but he has reacted poorly towards other dogs just walking by. He also needs to heal so he cannot be out running around. Children should be 10-12 years and older. He is human friendly but does have a tendency to mouth the leash or hands. During the brief time of him being calm, he does want attention and enjoys being loved on. If you cannot personally take him in, please SHARE. This is very important for Monty that he finds a place to land. Any inquiries can be sent to info@centralpahumane.org. Thank you!!

Story
Meet Koda!!This girl is about 7 years old and is an Akita mix. Unfortunately for Koda, she did not enjoy dogs or cats, so she is going to need a home without them. She is large in size and needs older kids. She didn't enjoy us touching her back end or paws during the assessment. If you can provide Koda a home that matches her needs, please apply for her! Previous Akita experienced would be amazing for her!PA KENNEL LICENSE #1333

Story
Eve is a 6-year-old spayed and vaccinated female. She has been in our care since August 2023. She cannot live with cats. She has been a hard cookie to figure out. She originally came in with another male dog. That was the only other dog that she liked/could be placed beside but then he got adopted. Fortunately for Eve, staff kept trying and Eve has made some canine companions along the way. She comes off hot and over the top at first. Her play style is very rough, and she loves to wrestle which can be a turn off for some dogs. She would be best described as dog selective due to her needing to learn how to chill out sometimes (she is still figuring out other dog body language/cues). Children should be old enough to understand that she will wrestle with a human too (all in fun)! She will probably require more than one visit, especially if another dog is in the home due to her being in the shelter environment for so long. Based on her canine cardio outings with volunteers, we know that she does well in the car. She enjoys walking or jogging and can keep up with the distance. She has not shown reactions towards other people or dogs when out. She also shows the desire to listen to verbal cues when given. PA Kennel License #1333.
