Story
Sweet Potato was a sweet stray we took in the day before she gave birth to 2 beautiful kittens. They are grown up and adopted out. It is now mamas turn for a home. She is extremely shy and skittish. It is going to take a very patient adopter who is experienced with cats to help her come out of her shell. She is friendly with her foster but it took months to gain her to trust. Once she trusts you she is playful and very sweet and loves attention and pets. Anyone interested in our dogs/cats will be required to fill out an adoption application. We do not adopt to anyone living outside of the Dallas/Fort Worth area. All our dogs/cats will be spayed/neutered, heart worm tested (dogs), FeLV/FIV tested (cats), microchipped, and current on vaccinations. We do not adopt on a first-come first-served basis. We review all applications received to ensure that the animal and the applicant are a good match based on our personal experiences with the animal. These animals live in our homes with us so we are familiar with their habits and behaviors. Home visits may be required prior to adoption approval. To fill out an application online or to find out more information about our adoption process, go to www.friscohumanesociety.com & click on the "Adoption" link. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.North Texas Cat Rescue P.O Box 1504 McKinney, TX 75070 214.454.9395 www.northtexascatrescue.com We have a bit of an unusual situation; we have a bonded trio of cats. We’re fairly certain that Peychaud is the dad to Skye and Whiskey. They were all dumped outside where a really nice lady trapped them and had them fixed. Thankfully, we were able to help and got them inside before a cold front hit. They are all sweet, but are shy at first. Skye is the smallest and most reserved/shyest of the trio. She has adjusted really well to being indoors only. She has excellent litter box manners and uses a scratching post well. These 3 babies were definitely someone’s pets at one time, but for some unknown reason, they were dumped and left to fend for themselves. They are great with other cats and are tolerant of dogs. We do not believe they will do well in a home with small children as they prefer a quiet environment. If you’re interested in meeting them, please fill out an application on NTCR’s website. Please note, we do not adopt out-of-state and as they are a bonded trio, most apartment complexes have a 2-pet maximum.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Please contact NTCR AT 214.454.9395 should you have any concerns or questions. Please note: We appreciate all interest in our cats and kittens, but we are an all volunteer organization. Please be patient with regard to a call back. Should you need to surrender the cat you adopted from NTCR, please email us at surrenderNTCRcat@northtexascatrescue.com. April 18, 2024, 8:36 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.North Texas Cat Rescue P.O Box 1504 McKinney, TX 75070 214.454.9395 www.northtexascatrescue.com Gus is super affectionate and friendly. He follows his foster around the house and likes to be near her, often times being exceptionally "helpful" with whatever chore she's doing. Gus loves to sit in laps and have his head/face/chin scratched. He also loves to be held and cuddled. Initially, in a new environment, he is a  bit shy and needs to be introduced to the home, pets, etc., slowly.  He's very playful and enjoys playtime with the other kitties in his foster home. He's not a "rough and tumble" kind of cat but playing with the same toys or chasing one another around the house is fun to him. He does give love bites, but those have waned since he's now playing with other cats; however, given this, he'd be better in a home with older kids. He’s not fostered with dogs, so we don’t know how he is with them. His adoption fee is $150. If you see him on a site other than www.northtexascatrescue.com, please visit our site to verify he is still available for adoption. If you’re interested in meeting him, please complete an online application on NTCR’s website. Story
All of our cats are current on vaccines, combo tested (FIV/FELV) , spayed/neutered, microchipped, given rabies vaccine as age appropriate, flea treatment and dewormer as needed   Peanut, approx DOB 11/17/19, was abandoned when his previous owners moved out of their apartment. Fortunately, he found a feral colony that was being fed to hang out with, but the outside world was no life for him. To make matters worse, he ended up with a horrible ear infection while he was outside which resulted in him becoming mostly deaf. He can sometimes hear really loud noises, but we estimate his hearing loss to be about 80-85%. Additionally, since he was abandoned, he is very slow to warm up to people and trust them, but he absolutely adores other cats and is very dependent on them. For the most part, he does not even want to eat unless he has a friend to keep him company. Peanut will be looking for a quiet home with at least one other very cat-friendly cat to be his BFF. Peanut's favorite activities are lounging around looking regal, playing with track ball towers, and getting wet food. He really enjoys being petted, but can still be a bit shy to accept the pets until he realizes how awesome they are .  T-AW**Want to adopt?
