Please note, we will be unable to respond to inquiries via Adopt-a-pet and Petfinder. All applications must be submitted on our website.  Please keep an eye on your spam folder. Emailed responses often end up in spam folders!  Don’t let the name fool you — this Armadillo isn’t armored, but he is wrapped in a long coat of floof! He’s the quintessential derpy kitten: full of personality, constantly sporting a hilariously blank stare, and always ready to chase a toy (or his siblings). Armadillo is easygoing and endlessly entertaining, and would likely do well in any home environment given proper time and introductions.  Armadillo would love to go to a forever home with one of his sisters!  Armadillo is too young to be eligible for a full adoption. However, she is eligible for our Foster-to-Adopt program!  Foster-to-Adopt Program Details We are an all-volunteer, foster-based, non-profit organization We don’t have a physical location; all cats and kittens live in foster homes until they are formally adopted. Our foster-to-adopt program allows us to match cats and kittens with their forever family before they’re eligible for adoption. Eligible cats and kittens are placed in a foster’s home with the intention of adoption after required medical care is completed. Foster-to-Adopt foster parents are required to schedule and bring their cats(s) and/or kitten(s) to veterinary appointments at the Animal Medical Center of Richardson as needed.  Foster-to-adopters must meet all of the eligibility requirements RHS has for adopters.  Cats and kittens eligible for our foster-to-adopt program must pay a $50 non-refundable deposit at time of drop-off that will be deducted from the animal’s adoption fee of $135.  Our Adoption Process: Meet the Adoption Criteria. Before you do anything else, make sure you meet our adoption criteria. You must be at least 21 years old. You must live within a 60-mile radius of Richardson, Texas. You must share veterinary records for all pets currently in your home and all pets owned in the last five years. All pets in the home must be spayed or neutered. If you rent your home, you must provide verification that pets are allowed on the property. You must be willing to be interviewed by an adoption counselor and you must undergo an in person or virtual home visit from an RHS representative. Complete Application.  https://www.richardsonhumanesociety.org/adopt/ Phone Interview/Vet Check. Compatible applicants will be forwarded to a counselor who will contact the applicant for a phone interview. We also get a reference from your vet, if applicable. Home Visit. If all the steps above are completed satisfactorily, we will set up a visit where you can meet the pet you are interested in. We will try to include the foster parent so you can learn more about how the pet is in a home environment. Due to COVID, we may ask you to send a video of your yard and the pet's expected living space. Complete Adoption. If all feel it is a good match, we will schedule the adoption at your home or an off-site location. The applicant will need to complete the adoption contract and pay the adoption fee. Our adoption fee is $250 for adult dogs, $300 for puppies (under 1 year) and $135 for cats. Discounts are available for senior-aged pets. ##2412267##

Story
Please text 214 621 1139 if you wish to get a Meet and Greet form for this pet. What is there to say about Cashmere? With such a gorgeous coat and those beguiling golden eyes, this is one stunningly beautiful kitty. Cashmere has a coat that is as soft as its namesake. Her fur coat is actually double coated. She has one of the thickest, plushiest fur coats we have seen to date. Our lovely girl is strong-willed, vocal, independent and highly active. Despite her pouffiness, we have seen this girl leaped 5 ft into the air with grace and agility. Torties are highly affectionate and when they find the right owner, they will give all their devotion to that person. Our Cashmere came into the foster care with a loving companion, the hunky Odin, a stunningly marked snowshoe Siamese male with the gentlest attitude. Cashmere often shows him who's the boss in the relationship by grooming him regularly to let him know that she's the dominant one in the duo. Good thing, Odin is one laid-back kitty who happily enjoys being lavished with attention from the beauteous Cashmere.
