Story
Hello! My name is Blossom. I am a ‘working cat’ which means that I may not be suited for the life of a house cat, but I would love to have a job in exchange for care, food, and shelter. Adoption fees are waived for working cats like me! Do you need help with rodent control at your house, barn, garden, warehouse, or garage? Working cats are dependable, effective, and utterly cute workers! Working cats can be an eco-friendly, humane alternative to pest management. Working cats are premier rodent managers! Although not suited for housecat life, if you keep a working cat happy and healthy, they may become more affectionate over time. These cats need food, water, protection from the elements, and long-term care. You can come by the shelter or email frontdesk@auburnvalleyhs.org for more information about adopting a working cat.

Story
Binx is a 8-month-old sweetheart with a soft spirit and a gentle heart. While he may be a little shy at first, once he feels safe and comfortable, his sweet personality starts to shine. He loves quiet moments, gentle playtime, and the comfort of a cozy blanket or a sunny window. Binx has a thoughtful, observant nature—he prefers to take things in before jumping into the action. With a patient adopter and a calm environment, he’ll blossom into a loving, loyal companion. He enjoys the company of other cats and would do best in a home with a friendly feline to help him feel secure and confident. He’s litter box trained, well-mannered, and ready to find a family who understands that the sweetest bonds are the ones built on trust and time. Location & Transport Binx is currently in Houston, Texas, but can be transported to the Northeast, Pacific Northwest, Colorado, or cities along the route. Adoption Application Apply to adopt Binx here: https://new.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/ROSE/Cat Why We Charge an Adoption Fee Your adoption fee covers vetting, transport, and helps fund our TNR (trap-neuter-return) work. Each adoption sponsors a spay/neuter and two vaccines for a homeless Houston cat—saving two lives with every adoption.

Story
We’ve got kittens! If you're ready to add some spunk, silliness, and purrs to your home, now is the time! Kittens are full of energy and need homes where people have the time to give them lots of daily play, pets, and attention. Younger kittens often do best going home with a sibling or to a home with a young, playful resident cat to keep them company and help keep them busy! Plus, it helps teach them appropriate manners, so that they don't play too rough with human hands. Any introductions to resident pets should be done slowly. Most kittens will do well with older kids who can handle them gently. If you're ready to welcome home one (or two!) little ones, make an adoption appointment to visit them today!

Story
Sweet Phlox is looking for her fresh start. She already knows she's on her way to better days, and she's more than ready to make it official in her new home! This beautiful 2-year-old tabby is on the shy side and would love a quiet home with just teens and adults, where she can settle in at her own pace. Once she's comfortable, she enjoys pets, brushing, and playing with toys. Phlox does well with other cats given plenty of space, but we don't know if she's ever met dogs. Any introductions to resident pets should be done slowly. Since Phlox would prefer a calm, quiet home, she may do best as the only pet. IF you're ready to open up your heart and home to this special lady, make an adoption appointment to meet her today!
