Story
Heart is a fascinating young lady. She's a bit more reserved than her siblings, but don't mistake that for her being timid, she just knows what she wants. She's very curious to explore her surroundings and loves to play, but she takes some time to warm up to physical affection from new people. She would probably do best in a calm home with a patient family. She has been around young children and adult cats, but was scared whenever she heard or saw dogs out the window at her previous foster home.Pets are complex beings and prior to adoption, interested adopters will be counseled by a staff member to discuss the specific needs for each animal. Ace is absolutely bursting with kitten energy! He's a very confident and curious little dude, and comes with a complete soundtrack full of mews, squaks, chirps, and purrs. He will need lots of interactive playtime so that his boredom doesn't get him in trouble. Once he's drained his battery, he may demand a warm lap and lots of ear scritches.Ace is looking for a home with his brother, Diamond, and they will likely do best in a home that can provide lots of structured play time and cuddle time. They have been around young children and adult cats, but were scared whenever they heard or saw dogs out the window at their previous foster home.Pets are complex beings and prior to adoption, interested adopters will be counseled by a staff member to discuss the specific needs for each animal. Story
Bruno is 1 year old, litter box trained, and loves to play. Bruno is fun to watch when he gets the zoomies and will play with most toys. Bruno has no problems with children of all ages. He was given up, along with his sister May May and his brother Maui. They live with other male and female cats and get along with no issues. He also lives with 3 dogs of all sizes and doesn’t mind them. Bruno has lived inside his whole life and is just waiting for his forever home. Is that you?IMPORTANT: Please read all below, especially if you live outside of Texas, which is where our rescue is located.Apply to adopt on our website: https://www.charmingpetrescue.org/adoptAll of our animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on shots.ALL of our animals are located in Boerne, TX, but transport after adoption is available to other states for a $300 fee for dogs or an additional fee varying by location for cats. If you are seeing our pets posted in your state, that's because you live near a transport stop, they are not currently at that location. Petfinder lists our pets as 'Out of Town' pets at other locations, and Adopt-a-Pet lists our location as a Transport stop. Those are currently the only options they offer to make this clear, so we put this description we've put at the bottom to explain it. You can read more about transport here: www.charmingpetrescue.org/transportWe understand transport is not an option for everyone, but we offer it at the cost we pay the transport company for those who wish to adopt from us.April 26, 2024, 2:52 pm

Story
My name is Lucy and I love to sit on your lap or right beside you to keep you company. I'm almost 15 years old and I've always been a bit grouchy - but never mean. Now that I'm an old lady I'm extra grouchy to any cat friends but after I've gotten used to their company dogs are just fine with me. I have developed a hyperactive thyroid in my old age, but it has been managed well with medicine morning and night. My human says the medicine isn't very expensive, so it shouldn't be a burden. As long as I have a scratching post, I don't scratch the furniture. I use my litter box and even tolerate when it isn't too tidy, even though I prefer it to be clean. My only other quirk is that I never learned how to groom myself because my sister always took care of it. So since she's not here my human has to do the job or I get matted pretty fast. My human is really sad that I need a new home, but I just can't be nice to the other cat's in the home.

Not good with dogs, House-trained, Spayed or Neutered,
Story
We have had Ava for 10 years. This is hard for us to consider as she has been such a good pet. We recently got a black lab, we kept them apart with a gate, her getting half of the house and him the other. We have tired multiple times to integrate them but she never seems to have much interest, no hissing or dramatics, but pees when we do so. Important to note prior to dog she never peed outside her box. With the failed attempts we feel she is just unhappy being confined to only a few rooms and honestly at this point so are we. We need to have full access to the house without gates, our dog now grown needs space. Ava is a calm cat, she takes some time to warm up and is very vocal. While she isn’t huge on snuggles she sleeps with us every night. She has been around a few small children, and while she likes to hide has never hissed or struck out when they approach her. But would probably do best in a quiet home with no kiddos, and no other pets.

Story
His Grace, Duke of Furrington is eager to grace you with his presence. This darling and sweet long-haired feline is ready to find a family who will give him plenty of pets, attention, and play daily. And of course, lots of cozy spots to curl up for naps. His Grace is a bit shy at first and looking for a quieter home with just cat-experienced, older kids where he can settle in at his own pace. We don't know if His Grace ever lived with other cats or dogs, so any introductions to resident pets should be done slowly. If you're ready to roll out the royal carpet for The Duke of Furrington, make an adoption appointment to come and meet him today!
