She was found on our doorstep when she was ~5 weeks old and we've been raising her ever since with our lab who is 3 years old. She plays off-leash daily and is well socialized.

Kinzie is the spunkiest, smartest, most energetic girl! She spent most of her life in the shelter but thanks to CBR saving her you wouldn’t even know it. She’s so intelligent, even just one training session with her she picks up so much! Her leash skills are great, she loves her crate, and is fully potty trained! Kinzie loves being outside, and would do great in an active home wanting to walk, run, or hike daily. She can be a little shy at first with new people, but feed her a treat and she warms up quickly. She’s fiercely loyal to her people and loves to please them. She loves affection and will do anything to earn your touch! She’s working on her jumping, so would probably be best in a home with adults only or older children. Kinzie is the sweetest girl and would love to be a part of your home!

Obie (short for Old Boy) is a sweet old boy looking for a comfy couch to call his own. He has a beautiful fluffy coat that he enjoys a nice brushing of. Obie is a quiet and dignified couch potato. He is fine with everyone but particularly loves men. He loves ear scratches and a nice snooze. Obie is currently on medication for seizures. He takes this medication twice a day and it has greatly reduced his occurrence of seizures. He takes his medications easily if hidden in cream cheese, sour cream or yogurt. Obie is house trained with a doggie door right now. He enjoys spending his afternoons outside relaxing. He can be scared by loud things like fireworks but has done well with CBD as needed for this very specific anxiety. Obie does not really care for treats or toys. Treats he has enjoyed for training include lamb roast, mashed potatoes and eggs. He thinks vegetables are yucky. He seems to have been new to dog food but has taken to it well with some patience. Obie previously lived with another large dog and got along well with her. She would even snap at him sometimes and he would not really react. He simply wanted to be her friend. We also believe Obie will be fine with mannerly children. He has met toddlers and takes care to not knock them over. When meeting cats indoors, Obie was excited but did not necessarily exhibit high prey drive. He allowed his foster mom to call him back as she removed the cat. When he sees cats outdoors he like to try to chase them, though this is true of most dogs (even those that live with cats). Bentley is a 1.5-year old male Dutch Shepherd mix youngster (most likely Belgian Malinois) who was picked up as a stray by Stanislaus Animal Services. This poor puppy was so traumatized at the time of intake, but is now safe with rescue in a wonderful foster home, where he can decompress and begin to feel safe and loved. Bentley is a sweet little boy, and didn’t hesitate to come to our volunteer upon first greeting. He is now fully crate trained, and does well with other dogs. Initially, he was very shy when meeting other dogs, but has become a pretty confident pup, and loves to run and play. His first night in his foster home, he slept in his crate all night with no issues. He loves his people and at times wants to be right next to you, waiting for pets and lovin. Bentley will require a committed and loving human who will make him a part of the family, providing the care and attention that every young pup needs. Only older dog-savvy children 8 and above in an adoptive home will be considered. It will be necessary for an adopter to have recent successful experience in raising a GSD, Belgian Malinois, Dutch Shepherd, or other large breed working puppy. An adopter who will begin and continue his obedience training based upon positive reinforcement is recommended, including positive steps to discourage unwanted behavior, to ensure he remains on the path of a well-behaved canine companion. Handsome Charlie was found wandering the streets and neighborhood of Lodi. Fortunately, he found himself on the porch of some kind Samaritans who opened their home and hearts to him. Charlie was thin and suffering from flea allergy dermatitis, both which are currently being effectively treated. It is obvious that Charlie in his three years of life has had very minimal socialization. He can be a bit reserved when you first meet him but after he becomes comfortable, you will notice that he is quite the leaner. He also loves attention and affection. He has great eye focused, is very food/treat motivated, and is learning some basic obedience. He already knows "sit". Currently Charlie lives with a 15 year old Terrier and has been very respectful to her. He was evaluated and appears to be non-reactive towards dogs and may be cat trainable (however, close supervision IS A MUST with kitties). He is also comfortable riding in a vehicle. Golden State German Shepherd Rescue was contacted by a gal who is desperately trying to find a new home for this handsome year-old GSD. Sheena writes, "My nephew rescued him after he was running around his work parking lot in Natomas for several days. He has had him for around 2 months but they are now homeless and my nephew is working 7 days a week so he cannot care for him properly. I do not have the resources to care for him either. He said he has taken him to a vet and found out he is not chipped and he is not fixed but they think he is around 1 yr old. He is very well tempered, trainable, playful and has gotten along with all dogs, cats and people he has met while with Jeremiah. We are very sad to have to rehome him but he deserves to be cared for properly. Any chance you can help?" Golden State would love to bring him into Rescue if we can find a foster. Sheena sent a couple of videos, one with a cat and one with a large breed dog, and Kratos was really good w/both.
